Desktop search solution for Seamonkey email under Linux?

2010-08-03 Thread Dave
Hi group,

I am using Seamonkey 2.0.6 under openSUSE 11.2 (x64).

I tried installing Google Desktop Search (GDS) v1.2.0.0088 (latest
version downloaded today) but it doesn't index email.

Is there any way to get GDS to index my email? I found this link but
it is for Windows...:
http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.seamonkey/browse_frm/thread/7b9417e2c9293439/ca4073631ffda65a?lnk=gstq=desktop+search#ca4073631ffda65a

If not, what other desktop search solution can I use? I have a lot of
email and Seamonkey's search capabilities are too limited.

Many thanks!

Well let us just say then I'll believe it when I see it. How's that?

There has been other issues through out Mozilla's / Netscape's History

Need plug-in hacked

2010-08-03 Thread William Morrison

Hi Group

There is a plug-in http://wiki.memberplugin.org/ that I would like to
know if someone could hack to use with Seamonkey. This plug-in is for
use with Freecycle.com web site and mailing list and is available for IE
and Firefox but not Seamonkey. I was advised by the plug-in support that
it might be an easy hack by using
http://users.skynet.be/fa258499/hackexttutorial.html but to me that
might as well be in Martian as I know very little about righting or
editing programs or apps. Also they didn't seem too enthused about
rewriting the plug-in to use with Seamonkey themselves.

Hello does anyone use this add on in SM? I read the fine print and now
know that it was intended for TB.

Are there any Add On's of this type for SM?

without any problem.
I am using under WindowsXP-SP3

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US;
rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 NOT Firefox/3.5 SeaMonkey/2.0.4

Thank you: that one worked; but this one still
does not: (why not?)

http://tinyurl.com/2bwlkd7

It works for me also, except that for one picture, there is no thumbnail.

Under Win XP sp3 with SM2.0.6 that link shows all empty boxes.
Maybe I just have to wait longer? ... Nope! 1 hr later and all boxes
are still blank!

p.s. loads in 3 sec under IE8.

It IS ALL Javascript!
Ok, I enabled change images and mouse over each box shows a large
(correct) image.

However, the original thumbnails remain blank.

2.0.4 did not show *just* one thumbnail.
2.0.6 did not show *all* thumbnail.
2.1.x will not show the page ? :-)

It's not too many images when the page is the result of a search for
 images.

Selecting one image launches the image's page in a new tab. (My
preferences are set for Open links meant to open a new window in ... A
new tab in the current window.) In that new page, the image is still a
thumbnail. Selecting the thumbnail gives me a new page with large
image; this new page is in the same tab. Selecting the back arrow
returns me to the page with the thumbnail, which was the first page for
that tab. Thus, further use of the back arrow was disabled.

I then changed my preferences to Open links meant to open a new window
in ... In the current tab/window. After viewing the enlarged image,
selecting the back arrow once returned me to the page with the
thumbnail. The back arrow remained enabled. Selecting it again
returned me to the page with many thumbnails.

Finally, I changed my preferences to Open links meant to open a new
window in ... A new window and confirmed that the new page with the
image as a thumbnail did indeed open in a new window.

Thus, everything seems to be working okay.

I dunno. I am in SM 2.0.5 on this laptop with the version of Puppy
(spup 040) I have booted at the moment.

I have no idea as to the 101 potential differences between your
install and mine. Just thought I'd share the observation in case
anyone else is seeing the same thing. :-)

It could easily be a memory conflict or something else local to
my hardware or software - almost impossible to chase - and if no
one else is reporting the same experience it is not worth chasing.

Neither you nor Rick Merrill have described what problem you are seeing.

The only problem I saw was that the images are apparently from a server
different from the server with the surrounding page. The pages are all
from www.google.com. However, he thumbnails are from t0.gstatic.com,
t1.gstatic.com, etc; and the large images are from
www.seriouswheels.com, img.dailymail.co.uk, fancytuning.com, and
elsewhere. Thus, I had to change my image preferences from Accept
images that come from the originating server only (my usual setting) to
Accept all images.

I did in my initial post - here it is again:

I was able to view all of the images fine but when I opened one of
the images (this only happened with one of them, not the several
I tried) then I tried to back up to the thumbnail page from the
enlarged image page it would not allow me to arrow back.

I tried the back arrow several times at which point my screen was
frozen and then x-windows crashed.

Emails not visible

2010-08-03 Thread Geoff Walker
My SeaMonkey mail Inbox contains some 900 emails at the top level as
well as a hierarchy of sub-folders each with its own collection of
emails. The 900 emails at the Inbox's top level have become invisible
in the Thread Pane, although the Folder Pane still shows that there are
some 900 emails there. All the emails in the sub-folders are still
fully visible in the Thread Pane.

I have restarted SeaMonkey without success, and have rebooted the
computer again without success.

Any suggestions?

Nachricht an Mozilla.
Wenn ich Seamonkey beendet habe oder es abgestürzt ist, läuft es noch
minutenlang mit hoher CPU-Auslastung nach. Was tut es da ? Dieser Effekt ist
mir auch schon von SM 1 - Versionen bekannt.
Bitte um Nachricht, wenn jemand diesen Fehler kennt.

Dear users,
I installed the new version and have ever since crashes.
So I am now back to the previous version 2.0.5.
Since I have many tabs open at the same time, I can not say exactly
which side caused by the crashes.
They occur for example after opening an Imap accounts or when loading a
film sequence of SPIEGEL Online, but also completely spontaneous.
After such a crash, the bug reporter weldet and sends a message to Mozilla.
When I finished Firefox or it has crashed minutes after it is still
running at high CPU utilization. What is there to do? This effect is
known to me already from SM 1 - History.
Please provide notice if somebody knows this error.
