Form manager in v.2?
I know they eliminated the form manager in v.2; it's one of the reasons I waited so long to upgrade. What's the best add-on for this? I see LastPass is popular, with over 20K downloads, but I don't recall hearing the name before. I also see Mathieu's Form History Control, which sounds familiar, but only 1,800 people have downloaded it -- despite a five-star rating. BTW, the add-ons search engine could sure use some work. Re: Inconsistent handling of Word attachments
Klaus wrote: When you look at the email source (Control-U), do both attachments have the same MIME type? It often happens to me that I receive emails (e.g. from the web interface of GMX) that carry .DOC, .JPG, .PDF or other attachments but just use Content-Type: application/octet-stream for any attachment, regardless of the actual file type. I haven't found a way to make SM 2.0.x (Linux) offer multiple choices for binary files. At least for pictures (.JPG) there is a little trick: you can select view source for the attachment and SM displays the image in a new window. I get Content-Type: multipart/mixed; whether SM gives me the option to open the doc or only to save it. The same applies to pdf files, which just like Word docs will sometimes let me save only and sometimes offer me the choice to view without saving first. The odd thing is that SM always correctly identifies what sort of file it is in the download invitation window, but even though files of that type are listed in Helper Applications with a designated opening app, I still get this inconsistency from one email to another - sometimes an option to open (with specified app) and sometimes no choice but to save it first. Thanks For the addresses-book, carnet d'adresses in frensh, the first of them is the personnales addresses-book (adresses personnelles) and the corresponding file is abook.mab. the first new addresses-book file created is abook-1.mab and so on... The first imported addresses-book file is named impab-1.mab (or impab.mab) and so on... Bertrand, are you talking about the file that stores the email addresses (abook.mab) Yes it is and addressbook.html is unknown in my PC. or are you talking about the file that stores the website addresses (addressbook.html)?? All I can see here is Form manager has been replaced with a new web form remembering functionality that works very much differently. (Bug 304309) And *right below that line* there is Tips: For improving form management experience and getting some of the previous control back, please try the Form History Control, Autofill Forms, and/or FireForm add-ons made available by our community. with all the names of those add-ons linked to their pages on the SeaMonkey Add-ons website! Oops, I guess my speed reading is not working as well as I thought. I see the suggestions now. Sorry. When I go to a site that requires user input into a form, I enter the data, and the next time I go to that site, I'm back where I started Try double-clicking the text field in question or pressing the down button if the text field is already focused. Nope, nothing. All the form data I used to have stored in v.1 has been lost, there's no response. That may change after I install an add-on. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B. Not sure what you are talking about - there is a feed reader built right into 2.x versions. Care to tell me where it is, or should I just keep floundering around? One of the things I liked best about inforss was that the marquee ran continually at the bottom of my screen, I didn't have to make a conscious decision to go look at my feeds.
