I forgot the following.

Besides the "normal" cache, which gets deleted when you request to
delete it or never gets created if you so specify, there are special
caches in your profile. Just do a search on the string "cache" (without
the quotes).

I just downloaded version 2.0.18 (actually 2.0.18.110) without any
problem.

The download links are about half-way down the Web page at
. The download files are .zip
files, not installers. The unzipped contents are the executables.
Unzip the file and move the result to where you want it to reside. For
Windows, copy it and paste a shortcut from where you can execute it.

Most .sqlite files (which are actually databases) are likely important.
They include not only cookies (which you might not want) but also your
bookmarks, information on extensions you installed, and permissions you
have granted or prohibited.

The problem with .sqlite databases is that, when entries are removed,
the spaces for the removed entries remain. Also, Mozilla in its
"wisdom" (??) causes some .sqlite databases to be initialized for more
entries than are necessary.

You might try SpeedyFox from .
This application removes empty spaces and otherwise cleans up .sqlite
databases. It works not only for SeaMonkey but also for Firefox,
Thunderbird, Skype, and any other application that uses the SQLite
database application. To use SpeedyFox after you install it, select
SpeedyFox from its menu bar and add the various profiles you want cleaned.

SpeedyFox sounds good. However, when I try to download it I get the
message "The download cannot be saved because an unknown error

I am using PrefBar 7.1.0 with SeaMonkey 2.46. HOWEVER, that is for
other PrefBar capabilities.

As I indicated earlier, I switched to using the "Expire history by days"
extension. It is version 1.2.0 converted at
 for compatibility with
SeaMonkey. The extension's current version 1.2.1 cannot be converted
successfully.

OK, I tried shift compose and it is indeed wrapping as I type. What I
was doing before was pressing compose, and then selecting option -
format - plain text. I thought that amounted to the same thing. The
formatting toolbar disappears. But apparently it is not the same thing.

If it gets saved in HTML you should be really composing it in HTML.

Re: wrapping

2017-01-04 Thread Stanimir Stamenkov

Tue, 03 Jan 2017 23:44:38 +, /Richmond/:

The problem seems to be that when I am typing a news article the text
wraps as I type, but when I am typing an email message the text does not
wrap, at least not until I get to the right hand side of the Window,
which is quite a long way on this screen. This is true regardless of
whether it is html or plain text.

Does this occur when you're replying to an existing message, or
also/just when you're typing a new message?

Previously I've seen when replying to an existing message a quote block
gets somehow extended to the text of the reply below it, and thus it
doesn't get wrapped. There are no visible quote markers ('>'), but one
could usually notice this during the composition as the color of the
reply text gets the same as the quoted text color (default blue), and
not the regular text color. One could usually get away from this state
by cutting the already typed reply text, possibly hitting couple of
Enters, and pasting the text over.

Don't know if that's your case, but see if it could help. SM 2.49a is a
development version, so you might try more recent builds to see if your
current issues are resolved, also.

Anyway I sent myself an email and it seems to arrive wrapped, but I
cannot tell where the wrapping occured, i.e. did it occur in the viewer,
or before it was sent?

I posted to a mailing list and someone complained that I should wrap my
text as a courtesy. But I cannot tell if it is going to be wrapped or
not at the point I press send.

I use the "Expire history by days" extension because it works
automatically and does not require my manual selection of a PrefBar
button. "Expire history by days" has an option -- reached through its
entry in the Ad-ons Manager -- to set the number of days of history
retention.

You can navigate it but you cannot play any videos, including trailers.
You get latest Silverlight not installed even though it is and up to
date. UA spoofing doesn't work. I drag to Firefox window to see video.

Netflix doesn't work with seamonkey anyway but you can at least look at
what's available on there.

Does anyone else have the problem?

I use Seamonkey to access Netflix on several different computers (and OS's).

Granted, it doesn't work as well since they decided to make it friendlier to
mobile than to desktop -- but it does still work for me.

Re: External program to view/export records from places.sqlite ?

2017-01-04 Thread Frank-Rainer Grahl

I use SQLiteStudio for testing purposes: http://sqlitestudio.pl

If you use a new profile you might be able to check fast whats saved.
Otherwise try the devtools. They should log redirects but not sure.

I second this PrefBar suggestion since I still use its purge my SM's
