CTRL-5 opens the address book manager. Click the address book name on
the left to select it.

Do Tools | Search Addresses...

Directly under "Match all of the following" you'll see a button whose
default value is "Display Name." Click it and you'll see the other
options, of which there are about a dozen.

If you want to search again in a different address book, click the
button next to "Search in:" in the search dialog and choose the desired
AB from the list.

Alternatively, you can click any column heading in the address book to
sort by that parameter. If you don't see the desired parameter, click
the little icon at the end of the column headings, just below the big
SeaMonkey icon, and show the desired parameter by checking the box next
to its name. You can hide columns the same way.

For my taste, the default size of the search dialog is inconveniently
small, so I maximize it. YMMV.

Awesome! Thanks. Is there a way to search ALL addressbooks at once
instead going one by one? :(

Do you mean you do not have a menu bar? I have SeaMonkey 2.46, which
has a menu bar with File, Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks, Tools, Window, and

Windows does not handle it. SeaMonkey handles it.

1. Download the file: At
, select the
Download link, right-click, and select Save Link Target As from the
pull-down context menu.

2. Import the file: Right-click on the PrefBsr tool bar, and select
Customize PrefBar from the pull-down context menu. On the PrefBar
window, right-click in the space under Enabled Items and select Import
from the pull-down context menu. In the Import Buttons from File
window, navigate to where you saved the button file (which is named
fontreset.btn) and select the Open button.

3. Position the button: The button is now at the bottom of the Enabled
Items area of the PrefBar window. Select it and drag it to adjacent to
the Font+ and Font- buttons.

I did not think Windows would handle it. I had downloaded it earlier.
However, I could never find the Import in the context menu. Thank you it
was right there in front of me once you pointed it out.

2.50 still has a notification bug which isn't bad but noticeable:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1323494

General 2.50 bugs are tracked here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1319091

Where does that leave 2.51a2 which I am using? Will it be abandoned?

I see a bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1322172 which I
don't have access to, so I guess it has security implications. :(

Thanks. I stopped it by switching off safebrowsing I think. But then I
abandoned that profile because, as you say it is better to leave it on.

There is a thread in the firefox group about firefox connecting to
cloudfront. While looking into that I checked on seamonkey and I see
the
same:

ec2-54-68-119-170.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com:https ESTABLISHED
2341/seamonkey

This is a new profile and I have set the home page to blank. These
connections are made when I launch seamonkey before I do anything else.

What are they about? Is it copies from firefox core code?

Sorry, Frank-Rainer, but are you suggesting that, straight out of the
box, my SeaMonkey is "phoning home" to these three (and, possible,
other) servers every time I connect to the Internet WITHOUT MY
PERMISSION??

If so, can you please provide further information

1.How can I stop this "phoning home",

2.What might I break if I disable this "phoning home", and,

3.What SM function may break if I disable this function??

(So much of the SPAM I receive seems to originate from amazonaws that
I would rather avoid it if I can!!)

Here is one.

SeaMonkey automatically checks for malicious or forged web pages,
broken add-ons, and third-party issued SSL certificates.

 and

On the first link, Walt, under "Suite and add-ons updates", it mentions
"Help > Customize SeaMonkey > Advanced Preferences > Software
installation" no mention of Customize SeaMonkey on the Help
drop-down maybe they mean "Edit > Preferences > Advanced
Preferences > Software installation Nope, don't see anything useful
there!

The next section of that link, Security, mentions " Help > Internet
Privacy > Privacy & Security Preferences > SSL" again no "Internet
Privacy" under "Help"!! and I cannot see anything close under
"Edit->Preferences->Advanced" or "Edit->Preferences-> Privacy &
Security" either! Maybe they mean "Edit->Preferences->Privacy &
Security->SSL/TLS

And as for your second link, Walt, they talk about Mozilla Product and I
haven't used a Mozilla product since I left Mozilla Suite and moved to
SeaMonkey (Teh, HEE!!) OH, no, wait, on my Ubuntu 16.04, I recently used
Moz FF to get Linux SM 2.46!! ;-)

and I got a 403 Forbidden error.

Chrome shows no problem and I can view the website, very strange.

I got the 403 Forbidden message for that link, using Mozilla/5.0 (X11;
Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 SeaMonkey/2.46.

Works in Firefox.

No idea why.
