Hello,
Using daily SM 2.53.1 at WG9S, it has proven stable and very usable for

I can only encourage Seamonkey users to get there and use SM2.53.1 !

We updated the version to 5.8.1 so you can see if it is installed.
Unfortunately because of a bug in the extension manager (or some mozilla
new feature removals) it will not auto update itself.

Please either pick the xpi manually and update or remove the old version
and then use about:config to remove the key
extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}
if present.

When you restart the new version should be installed then.

Sorry for the breaking change but we wanted some new js intl api feature
in before the first 2.53.1 Beta. Initially only stable in 56 anyway so
it won't break older add-ons.

Hello all,

I used WG9s ( https://www.wg9s.com/comm-253/ ) version 20191015 and
removed Lightning from the about:addons page.

I then did a reset of the key
extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}

(I do know how to do a "removal" of the key as Frank-Rainer suggest)

I then installed WG9s version 2.52.1 /20191019 and voilĂ  !

forward and try to get 2.29 out on time, or close to its initial planned

- We are working on builds for 2.29b1 *now*. We have Source (tarball

- This release will NOT have any l10n changes since our 2.26.1 release
(well, it has new english strings, but no translations). This is
primarily because we wanted to test our overall build process without
risking l10n issues internally.

- The release is primarily a is our build system working test, and
less of a is this beta good test, though the latter will still be of a
big help.

- There will be a 2.29 Beta 2.

- About a week after we ship beta 2, we hope to have a 2.29 final out.

SM 2.15 nightly: unable to save as from the main mail window with a right-click

2012-09-13 Thread dominique

Hello everyone,

I has seen on Seamonkey nightly (2.15a1) the following behavior:
(using SM2.15 on Win 7 enterprise)
- message with an attachment
- right-click on attachment
- Select Save As
- A window opens that ask the file name, file location to save the file
- This window is however only opening file, not saving file !!! (text
of button is Open, not Save)
- When clicking open, an error message pops up: unable to open the
file, file not found
- However, Doubleclicking on the attachment open a SM dialog that offers
to save the file.

This behavior seems to me rather recent (last week or so...).
Anyone else seeing it ? Is there a bug opened ?

Thanks for your ideas, pointer ?

Highlight + scrolling in SM 2.5 (nightlies): possible regression ?

2011-07-29 Thread dominique

Hello,

I just identified a possible regression on the scrolling behavior when
highlighting text in the composer.

When highlighting text in a message it is possible to scroll and keep on
highlighting, to select content to copy. This was also available in the
composer too (I compose usually in HTML).

In the composer, this behavior stopped working about a week ago in the
Seamonkey nightlies.
Anyone else seeing this ? If so I'll log a bug, trying to find a more
precise regression window.

Is the signature file itself an HTML or a text file?
Does the problem only occur with a file, not with the signature textbox?
Does the problem occur if you switch identities (using the From
dropdown) or only on initial composition?

Here are some details, Neil:
- signature file is an HTML file
- the problem occur also when using the signature textbox (in HTML)
- the problem do not occur when using the text box with text only
- Same problem when switching identities (both using the same HTML file
as a signature though...).

Hope this helps

signature oddity in SM 2.1 nightly

2010-06-17 Thread dominique

Hello all,

I found with my SM2.1 nightly an issue (probably a regression since a
few days...) about the use of a signature file.
I compose messages in HTML with a signature file that is appearing when
clicking the compose button.
The window opens with my signature as usual (fine) but with the word
signature right before it !

I filed a bug for it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=572290
Is anyone seeing this very same problem ?
I tried a clean test profile with the same behavior.
Thanks for confirming (maybe) this problem.

Not with my nightly of yesterday. The new one isn't usable due to a lot
of bugs. *g*

I filed a bug for it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=572290

I do not use IMAP and also no HTML. I cannot see how this could be
related to IMAP. Composing an HTML E-Mail inserts the signature just
fine. For many NGs i am using a longer signature so the effect is better
to see.

I tried a clean test profile with the same behavior.

Hm. Windows only perhaps?

Hartmut

It may be a windows-only problem, right...
I also have some strange behavior with HTML message composition (cut and
paste do not keep the font and size but revert to the default one) so I
suspect it might be related to a Mailnews / composition problem, more
generic than the signature only.

I need to search bugzilla for a recent TB bug that could be related.

I've just read the bug commented on it and voted for it to be fixed.
In Comments I noted it applies to SM as well as TB and for me its a
daily occurrence. At least one Message is affected each day, and there
is no certain News Server. and in my case a sure sign that that it will
show as empty, it that instead of being fully highlighted will show as
an outline around the subject (header info).

Note: this was not added;but, I read messages from Mozilla,
secnews.Netscape, Annexcafe, msnews.com, and eternal September. and it
happens in all of them.
its never on the same server and randomly happens between the servers.

Oh, this was added to comment in Bugzilla. This never happen in SM1, and
has always happened in SM2 since day one.

A workaround I found was to right-click on the message that do not
show-up, click Get selected message, move the focus (highlight) out of
the message then back onto it, et voilĂ  !

That works for me...

Mmm, I guess a little goolging never hurts:
https://developer.mozilla.org/NSS_3.12.5_release_notes

All SSL3/TLS renegotiation is disabled by default in NSS 3.12.5, which
is used in bleeding-edge Mozilla stuff...

Good to know...

Is there a way to disable this feature for a domain, a destination ?
temporarily ?

I see there that If an application depends on renegotiation feature,
it can be enabled by setting the environment variable
NSS_SSL_ENABLE_RENEGOTIATION to 1. By setting this environmental
variable, the fix provided by these patches will have no effect and the
application may become vulnerable to the issue.

How can I set this environment variable ? is there a preference to set
in about:config ?

These would be in addition to, NOT replacing, the Open a new tab mini-icon

Clearly, there need to be more Navigation Toolbar icons and choices than the
above two, but they seem initially most needed.

A possible add-on then ?
it would be new buttons to add when right clicking in the navigation

Alternative is to use the CRL T (to open a new tab) and CTRL N (to open

Anti-Virus software and operating system security rules can kick in to

If the attachment would have some file type set that fits better what's

set an Archive folder per account. Since we don't have mail header

No, see above: the UI is already implemented.

I guess what I was referring to is a UI for choosing the archiving

Last point: yes, an archive button would make sense...

I'm seeing the same issue, but it only seems to affect one of my many
rss feeds.
Interesting I'm seeing now only one feed *somewhat* displayed like
it used to (prior to May 2nd SM2.0 nightly), but all of the feeds are
still displayed with summary, no matter the setting used

I did a bit more testing:
- completely removing the account and its traces in my profile (feed
subdir), and then re-creating the account, re-subscribe to feeds: Same
result.
- I tried to subscribes to various feeds, same issue, always get the
summary, using the ugly default fonts, btw...
Another thing: would this have anything to do with DSS 1.0 or 2.0, or
Atom 1.0 or 2.0 ? (I don't know anything about the differences,
wikipedia should help me here.. :) ).

I still have the impression of a regression in SM nightlies.

Thanks !
  Dominique

Hello all,

Is it just me or do we have other people here using the SM2.0 nightlies
that see the same problem as I see?: (bug 491187
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491187 ) where the RSS are
always displayed as summary but never as standard (HTML) page,
whatever the RSS account setting?
I see this behavior with Linux and Windows, with a clean profile... It
seems a regression from May 2nd.
Thanks for your feedback

Dominique

Ooops, error in the title, now corrected...

Anyone interested or seeing the same issue ?
That is quite strange as I tried a clean profile, on Linux and Windows,
to get to the same result: no way to display HTML-formatted RSS, only
the article summary...
I hope this gets noticed eventually, or that someone would provide
directions on how to investigate further

Thanks
 Dominique
