Why would you want to do this?  The Trash folder is there by default to
hold any deleted messages.  If you delete one by mistake you can
retrieve it from Trash until you R-click the folder and select Empty trash.

Because there are two Teash folders now one under the Input and other
under the Email name.

they are linux releases.

One related note --

If you're having problems with a site, where you end up spoofing your

not be just the UA that's causing problems.

Take a moment to clear your cache then restart Seamonkey.  A clean

Not your fault, it's a known issue. Everyone who upgrades to SM 2.46

I have been using an application named PeaPod for ordering groceries

that the left most box does not appear in my window and there is no
scroll option for getting to it.

I have notified PeaPod of this problem and was told that they do not
support Firefox or Internet Explorer and that I should install Google
Chrome. I just responded t them that every application I use works fine
with Firefox (I am really using SM) and Internet Explorer. I informed

I don't understand what you explain. On the file "online" there are at
least 15 rows of a table, but never 15 pages ...
It turns out that there are 9 pages, not 6. When I try to print the

The usual reasons Firefox/SeaMonkey won't print correctly are:
1. errors on the page (see validators below)
2. there are tables in the markup

Just under the word "View:", above the column heading for your accounts,
look for a little speckled rectangle and click it.

You can toggle each of the toolbars on or off the same way. When they're

Re: Missing menu line across top of screen

2015-12-04 Thread stan pierce

stan pierce wrote:

I goofed something up, I think. I often save E-mails I am composing as
Drafts or Templates. Later I will access them and continue writing.
Seems to me there is normally a menu across the top that lets me select
to continue writing as a new message. But that menu is not showing up. I
am getting two lines of menus:

1. Get Msg Compose Reply Reply All etc.
2. View: and a windows for selecting what to view (All, Unread, etc.)

Isn't there supposed to be a third line and how do I get it to show?

Just found the solution. I right-clicked on the word View on second line
and it gave me a choices for showing various bars. I checked the missing
bar and it appeared.

1. On the SeaMonkey menu bar, select [Edit > Preference].

Copy the profile to the USB drive. Open SM and go to Edit - Mail and

I always kill the process or restart.
Ransomware usually redirect you to a page with nasty text to scare you

1. Java and JavaScript are two very different things. Did you really
mean JavaScript? Or did you mean Java?

2. Your signature block is faulty in two respects. First of all, the
--- (dash-dash-dash-space) should be -- (only two dashes), without
the quotes. Second, you are providing advertising for Avast, which
makes your message a form of spam. Spam is not allowed in any
news.mozilla.org newsgroups. If you do not set your Avast options to
suppress that spam, you might find your future messages to this and
other news.mozilla.org newsgroups blocked.

The signature block is the text at the bottom of your message. Mine has
the correct -- (dash-dash-space) delimiter. When you quote my
message in a reply or forward, your mail or news application is supposed
to strip away the signature block from the message you are quoting.

Avast should have a setting to suppress the advertisement. In the AVG
anti-virus application, the advertisement is called certification.
AVG will add certification to incoming and outgoing messages, with
options to disable that separately for each of those.

How/where do I set the signature block?

JavaScript comes with/within the browser. You don't need to install
anything else. Unless you mean you want to install something completely
separate from SeaMonkey. Please be more specific.

Not reliably. There are still many times when it does not work for me.
And I've tried various add-ons to no avail.

Is there actually a partial fix to this in 2.30? If not, I am seriously
considering reverting to 2.26.x until there IS a fix for it as I find
this issue seriously annoying. I have to keep a tab open with the data
manager in it and go back and forth with a sign-on page to copy the
proper password to insert it into the form. Ugh!

In my case the Password Manager crashes completely starting from 2.29 up.

I found only 2 bugs, and I found workarounds for both of them. The
address book is properly sorted in the sidebar, so I can use it to get
email addresses, and open a compose window from there. The bookmark
backups will not restore, but if one exports them as HTML, one can
import them.

To stop automatic updates, what I did was go into about:config and
change these settings:
app.update.auto - false
app.update.enabled - false
app.update.silent - false

Cookies, ID used to login to site, trust settings for certificates ...
all can either identify a particular PC or get in the way of accessing
a site. That said, the most typical issue that causes a site to

Just copy the entire directory from your Windows machine into the Ubuntu

All extensions will also be copied over, but the Windows-specific ones
will no longer work.

That is exactly what I did two years ago and everything is still working

Not the From address which I am using when I am sending my email.

I believe your From address is established when you set up your
accounts. When in Mail/News, under Edit see Mail News Account
settings. There you will see where to set the From, Reply To and
Organization addresses.

Might you have a different problem? When in News, the From address is
what you set in the News account. When in Mail, it's the one you set
there. You shouldn't get the News address when sending e-mail. One
exception--when you indicate Mail To after clicking on an e-mail address
in the header of a news posting. You can work around this: Copy Address,
rather than Compose To, then paste the address into a Mail Compose form
in your Mail account.
