Agreed.
The HTML that FAIL to pass certain W3C tests and force rendering back to
"compatibility mode" are the ones that get set aside. Some users have
been burned by hidden links & spam & phishing that it is the USER

that says, "no more."

You do have to go into google+ and set it for the less secure client.
SM is not strong enough to connect without that change. I found this

I'm surprised that "SM is not strong enough" -- it supports a variety of
connection security formats. What are the Gmail parameters that SM can't
handle? Or do you mean to say that Gmail requires insecure sending and SM
doesn't like that?

I'm not quite sure. I had all the parameters that gmail asked for in
impap settings but couldn't get gmail to receive the password for
sending. Thats when the popup showed that said to click on the less
secure setting in Google+. As soon as I did that, the gmail smtp server
accepted the password and began working.

If you're referring to the option "Allow less secure apps", I think that
means anything not produced by Google.

No, this is not a work-around Your way of sending mail is that the
"From:" variable is your gmail-adress and NOT your wow-adress.

You may test this by sending me a mail

My from address is the wow address. The reply to address is my gmail
address. This is true on my laptop and desktop. On my wifes laptop,
she only has the wow address so that both the From and the reply to
would be the wow address

Your email arrived with an @gmail.com From: address. Even if SeaMonkey
is configured to send with a different From: address, and that's how it
looks in your Sent folder, I've found before that GMail's SMTP server
replaces it with the GMail address you use to authenticate with the server.

Then it sounds like gmail couldn't handle the more secure setting, not

When I have such a problem (often involving E-mail messages to AOL
users), my first action is to contact my ISP. When an ISP blocks E-mail
because of a spam filter, individual users are generally powerless to
correct that situation. Instead, only the affected user's ISP can
negotiate with the blocking ISP.

Very interesting. A friend of mine reported today that he had a problem
sending an email to me. His wife did send one from her machine through gmail
and I received it just fine. His wife asked me if I knew of any thing
different with WOW. At the time, I didn't but now it appears that their
security is affecting more than me.

Who is your email provider? Sometimes a compny's user(s) send a lot of
spam and certain ISPs/mail providers will automatically block messages
from them. If that's the case your only recourse is to contact your
email provider/ISP.

Well if that is the error message that you are getting then the issue is
a change in wowway.com's spam filter, or you have some change in the
format of your email?

Things to check on your part:

Maybe wowway.com has changed to only accept PLAIN TEXT and you are
sending HTML format mail.

Do you have some remote linked image like a wallpaper or graphic in your
signature? That can trigger spam filters.

Are you using a SUBJECT? Empty subject field can trigger spam filters.

Has wowway.com implemented some horrid WHITELIST only system like
EarthLink? I just love it when a EarthLink user sends me an email and I
am *replying* to them and my message gets bounced because they to not
have me whitelisted and they *initiated* the conversation!
