Re: Windows Live Lail

2015-05-03 Thread Nick Sarames via Talk
The arrowing up and down occurrs when I am looking to see what emails I have
received. Then I would hit enter on the one I want to read. The bigger
issue is that while I am composing an email, I can't review what I am
writing. That is happening as I am writing this, and I am receiving a
microsoft warning sound when I hit the backspace key, or any of the arrow
keys. It's not a browse mode issue. In fact, Window-eyes says, browse mode
not available.

Okay; why do you have to arrow up. If you are in the inbox, the heading
that is under the cursor should read who it's from and the date and subject,
and you enter to open the email if you choose to read it; otherwise, I guess
you would hit delete. The message should just open and start to read. When
you are done, you hit escape to get out of the message. Pam.

Hi:

I have two issues regarding Window-eyes and my email client Windows Live
Mail. When I receive new emails, I arrow up each message reading the
subject, date and sender’s name. If I decide to read the email, I click on
the message and it opens in another window. Here’s where the problem
occurs. When I have read the email, I press alt-f4. However, sometimes, I
am unable to close the window, and instead, I hear the Microsoft warning
sound. The other issue I have is sometimes, when composing an email,
Window-eyes does not read back to me anything I have written. I would arrow
up and down and left and right, and don’t hear anything. If I backspace, I
also wouldn’t hear anything. These problems only occur sometimes. I am
able to navagate this email with no problems. Thanks for your help.

Make sure that the main (mailbox) window of WLM is maximized. But I think
when this is the case, your compose window will be normal. I think the
compose function doesn't work correctly if its window is maximized. And, of
course, the Windows Live Mail app should be running.

RE: Windows 7 and ipconfig command

2015-05-03 Thread Steve Jacobson via Talk
In addition to this, the RIGHT ARROW brings back the previous command one
character at a time, and F3 brings back the entire command. The point is
that there a number of ways one can accidentally put characters on the line
without thinking about it, and then, as you said, typing EXIT results in an
error.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

When working in the command prompt you cannot move around with the regular

If the output of a command fills more than one screen and you pipe to more,
you need to press enter until all screens have been displayed. If you don't
pipe to more, everything should scroll by, leaving you at the prompt. I
found an interesting thing when checking it out. If you press the up arrow
while at the command prompt, it brings back the last command you ran. If
you then type exit, it gets added to the end of your previous command and
gives a command not recognized error.

RE: the list of topics in these attachments from talk@list

2015-05-03 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi talmadge,

Attachments on emails on this list aren't actually there; they just have the
attachment flag.
As for posting a question, just create a new message with whatever subject
you like and post it. People will respond until the thread dies in its own
time.
The only basic guideline is that you are best to post messages related to
the Window-Eyes screen reader, but people often write about anything related
to problems they're having with Windows in general and its software,
especially as it relates to accessibility with Window-Eyes, but, stick
around, and you'll see the kinds of stuff which comes up. Smile And,
welcome aboard. Smile

All the best,

Rod Hutton

subject, date and senderb#0;s name. If I decide to read the email, I
click on

the message and it opens in another window. Hereb#0;s where the problem
occurs. When I have read the email, I press alt-f4. However, sometimes, I
am unable to close the window, and instead, I hear the Microsoft warning
sound. The other issue I have is sometimes, when composing an email,
Window-eyes does not read back to me anything I have written. I would arrow
up and down and left and right, and donb#0;t hear anything. If I
backspace, I
also wouldnb#0;t hear anything. These problems only occur sometimes. I
am

able to navagate this email with no problems. Thanks for your help.

Re: Windows 7 and ipconfig command

2015-05-03 Thread David via Talk
The good news is, that there exists one way of ensuring nothing is on
the command line, prior to your typing the EXIT command. Simply just
press the Escape key, type EXIT, and hit Enter. The Escape key, clears
the commandline, no matter what is on it at the moment.

For different reasons, I find that the Command Prompt Window does not
always close, even with the Exit instruction. The best workaround then,
is that you press Alt-Space, and scroll to Close, or simply just hit C.
This will force the window to be closed.

Should none of this work, you always have the last resort to most
software hang-ups. Pressing Ctrl-Escape, will bring up the task-manager,
and here you can Kill the CMD (or, Command Line Prompt) software.

David

In addition to this, the RIGHT ARROW brings back the previous command one

that there a number of ways one can accidentally put characters on the line
without thinking about it, and then, as you said, typing EXIT results in an
error.

Window-eyes Sticky Keys

2015-05-03 Thread Nick Sarames via Talk
Sorry, I don’t want to hijack this list, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to
improve the relationship between Window-eyes and Sticky Keys (a Microsoft
accessibility feature)? This has been a problem since Windows-7. Alt-tabbing
among windows becomes quite clumsy and it takes some trying to be in the window
you want.

file opening problem in word 2013

2015-05-03 Thread Yusuf Osman via Talk
Whenever I try to open a word file from the my documents folder it opens but
word gives it the title wrd.... And when I try to save it, it acts as if
this is the first time the file has been saved and uses the wrd000... as the
filename. This is a recent problem. Does anyone have any ideas how to get word
to treat files I open from my documents in the normal way?

I don't get this problem if I open word first and then use the open dialogue.
Cheers

RE: word question

2015-05-03 Thread Brendon Charles Donohue via Talk
Thank you for your email and your question. You can turn this mode
completely off in office programs so it will not even display your documents
in protected view. Here is how, please note, you need to make Shaw that you
do it for each program you want to turn protected mode off.

Open MS office word.
Press ALT+T and the letter O which will take you into the MS Word options.
Then you need to go right down the bottom of the list to trust centre.
Tab until you reach the button called Trust Centre Settings. Button.
Press enter on this button and you will be met with another list of options,
you are looking for the option called protected view and tab and then you
will be met with a list of checkboxes.
Uncheck all the checkboxes and then press enter on the OK button at the end
of this dialog box and you will be right to go.

Please contact me again if you need any more help.

Thank you.

Brendon Donohue.

major problems with the craigslist site

2015-05-03 Thread Jed Barton via Talk

Hey guys,

Does anyone on ehre use the craigslist site? I'm looking for some
stuff, and am running in to a very unusual problem. This is something i
have enver encountered before.
I go to the city where i need to search, and i type in what i want to
search for. What has happened for years, when i press tab, it has a
dropdown of the different catagories, i.e a combo box. Now when i press
the tab key after typine in my search it says english combo box, and it
come up with a bunch of language choices.
The problem is, when i type in my search, i'll press tab, it hesitates a
second, and then it says so many results are available, use the up and
down arrow keys to navigate. It looks like they changed their site.
Can anyone test it to see if they're having the same results, cause i
have no clue now how to find the results i'm looking for.

Greetings: Someone there has removed the installer for the SocialEyes
app. We know this for two reasons:
1. Opening app central returns an invalid app string when navigating to
the SocialEyes link sent to users via Email or using the search feature
to find the app.
2. Running a previously downloaded setup.exe file reports that the file
at the URL cache cannot be retrieved.

For new users who need to download the app as well as for existing users
who need to get the installer again, this is indeed a revolting development.

Please resolve this issue promptly.
