A microsoft word problem
So here's what happens, when I select a document that I already created and hit enter to open it, it comes back and says, my title then pull down. At that time, it will not open the document at all. I can, however, force it open by pressing F5, then it seems to straighten itself out. Do you have any ideas what might be happening? Re: When will Edge Browser be ready Under WindowEyes
Hi THERE! Although it might not work with all programs, I again used Edge to log into my gMail account and I cleaned out a bunch of old messsages and had no trouble using Edge for this purpose. I know it doesn't work well with a lot of programs but it seems to be improving slowly. BTW, I'm using W.E. the latest version. Never have tried jaws since I cann only aford one screen reader at a time. Just thought I would let you all know that Edge is somewhat useable. Catch Ya All Later! . The other point to make is that there appears to be somewhat of a controversary about Microsoft Edge in that Freedom Scientific has, in fact, stated that they do not think that it is worth making JAWS work with Edge until Microsoft makes some improvements with Edge, while NVaccess is trying to make their screen reader work with Edge, and as you pointed out, Vaughan, Microsoft is making Narrator work with Edge. I would like to think that my good friend Rod is correct in that the various companies will continue to develop their products independently of each other for a while yet, but it doesn't make good business sense in the longer term. If Microsoft chooses to talk to anyone regarding access to the Edge browser by screen readers, it will talk to a VFO senior executive member, and not necessarily to the representatives of the individual parts of the VFO group. I actualy think it significant that an extra "A" or the "sqquared" has not been added to the VFO title. And it was significant that Microsoft decided to roll out Narraot's access to the Edge browser, even though it knows that blind people who rely on screen readers do not seriously use Narrator. Re: AVG
HI Tom and all: I tried the free version of AVG for awhile, but I found that it was eating Window-eyes, in other words, that it thought that some .exe files that are essential for running Window-eyes were malware so it deleted them. Even though I tried to tell it that the files in question were not malware, it didn't seem to pay any attention. So then I got rid of AVG and went back to MSSE. So far, I have had no problems, and it is still periodically updating its virus definitions which means that they are keeping it current. Re: is spybot accessible
Is spy bot accessible? - Original Message - From: "David via Talk"To: ; "Window-Eyes DiscussionList" Sent: Thursday, September 01, 2016 6:55 PM Subject: Re: is spybot accessible Spybot Search & Destroy, is an Anti-Spyware program. It will take care of an extensive list of known malwares, search for them, and destroy or delete them. Besides having a system scanning function, it also have the capability of "watching" your system activity. For instance, when surfing the net, it may block certain malicious activity. One interesting detail of it, is that it has an Imunizer - that is, it will prevent your system from future attacks, even if they are not yet at your machine. At least, that is what they attempt to do. It does come in both a free version, and a paid for flavor. Main difference, from what I can make out, is that the paid for version will automatically update its databases, whereas the free version requires you to do so once a week or so. Further, it seems the paid for version will have some extra watchdogs hanging around your system, just to make sure even less intruders will have their chance. Yesterday morning, I did find my system acting up on me. For one thing, the fan kept spinning more than usual, and Thunderbird and WE did not go hand in hand as they should. Well, and just in general, I found it was time for a system cleanup. I ran Spybot, it found some 20 issues, which I asked it to automatically do with, as it desired. And now, my system is back to good performance, and I can write and edit my emails as usual again. Apparently, some strange stuff had sneaked in here. Not saying this is the ONE AND ONLY software to go for. I regularly run a handful security packages here. But at least it is worth a try with the Spybot cleaner. A few days ago, I ran Malwarebytes, and although it took care of some of the issues on the machine, it obviously did not do all of them. This not to hold one against the other, but just to underline the importance of scrubbing your PC with different tools and detergents every now and then. Spybot has their own homepage, which you could search on the net, to get the more full picture of their software and services. Also, I find that it is easier to run the different parts of the package, off from the SysTray, instead of trying to operate the main control panel of the package. Go to the SysTray, arrow to the Spybot Icon, and press Shift-F10 or the App-key. Then arrow down to the individual task you are looking for, like Update, Immunize or System scan, and hit Enter. The chosen software will open. Here hit Alt-T for choosing Task, and use the arrow keys to make your selection, before hitting Enter. To read the results, and the progress of the task, you need your mousekeys. Like I said, accessible enough, and mainly does a pretty good job. Just ran a scan this morning, and got an end to some buggy behavior on my system. Please note, I only have tried the free version of the software, cannot speak for any differences in the paid version.
