Re: Total Recorder

I use replay media capture to record baseball games, think it costs
around $40.00. Another really nice little program that is free and will
keep running is mp3directcut. If you can't find that one, I can put it
up on shellworld for you.

Re: Total Recorder

2018-02-13 Thread Larry Higgins via Talk

Carol,

I've been using TR for at least 15 years. Couldn't get along without it.
I use it, for

the most part, for recording audio streams. The gap here might be that
I am using the professional edition. With the pro edition, you can
schedule recording sessions, and in theory, and even in fact, they can
go on until you run out of drive space.

The streams that I record are .mp3, and the longest one I've recorded
was twelve hours without a hitch.

I say all that to say this. I do have a problem more often than I would
like with recordings that just quit with no real explanation. I think I
would give my right arm if I could find a way to do something about it.

The thing is, the recording session doesn't shut down when this happens,
but stays open until the end of its scheduled time. I even have TR set
to reconnect when it loses the connection, at least that is what I think
is happening here, but no go.

OK, maybe I wouldn't give my right arm, but maybe a steak or chicken
dinner if someone could help me to figure this one out.

I kinda  think it might be a problem with Comcast, but it is so random
in nature, I can think of no way for them to check it out. Oh well.

I know this hasn't been very helpful, but maybe, just maybe someone
might hear our cry, and come to our aide.

Richard,

If I am understanding your problem, your in-box is empty but you expect there
should be more in it. Is that correct? I did not see the message you
responded to originally so don't knowif I have that right.

If you are having the problem with Focused In-Box that I had, tabbing when you
are in the in-box should get you to a button that says "Other In-box."
You will have to press TAB multiple times to get to it. The ALT key will not
get you there. Pressing that button should get you to all of your email for
this time only.

If you want to get rid of this option, you need to use the ALT key to bring up
the ribbon, and navigate to the "View" tab. On my computer, pressing ALT,
waiting for the ribbon to come up, and then pressing the RIGHT ARROW until you
get to the View tab works. Then press TAB until you get to the Focused In-box
button. It will say it is checked if this is the problem.
Pressing SPACE or ENTER will clear the checkbox.

It is possible I am not understanding your problem since I missed the original
note, but this happened to me a while back and this was the solution.

Richard,

I missed part of this thread, but if you are not receiving email that you
believe you should be receiving, the Focused In-box "feature" was probably
turned on by an Outlook 2016 update. If you tab around the message list
screen, you should find a button that says "Other In-box." If you press that
you should get to the normal in-box. If this is the case and you want to turn
that feature off, go to the "View" tab on the ribbon and uncheck the "Focused
In-box" option. It may be identified as a "button" but it will say it is
checked when it is on. When the Focus In-box feature is on, your in-box will
contain the email Microsoft believes you want to read first.

Re: outlook 2016 question

2018-02-13 Thread bj colt via Talk

Hi Steve,

I am writing to you direct but it is a w.e and outlook question. My friend
somehow altered the view of her outlook calendar. . I helped her change the
view to normal and she is happy with that. This one I would imagine is
simple but I don't use outlook. This is her problem

The calendar under number two key, however is a strange new one that says
every half hour times for every day. What I had before was just a layout
similar to a regular sighted calendar where the days were in a horizontal
row and you could arrow around and find out if the 4th of March was on which
day of the week. I think she wants the calendar to be viewd as the type on
the little tags on those old fashioned picture cards. I don't know which
version of outlook she has but it definitly uses the ribbon andnot menu's.

Have you any idea how to change the calendar view to the type of view she
wants? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Live long and prosper, John
