Maryland’s Transportation Basemap is already availability in iD and JOSM as
an imagery source. We also have a slew of open datasets including
centerline and speed limits. I’ll take a look at the doc and add some.

Kudos on getting this together!

[Talk-us] Whole-US Garmin Map update - 2018-08-06

2018-08-07 Thread Dave Hansen
These are based off of Lambertus's work here:

http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl

If you have questions or comments about these maps, please feel
free to ask. However, please do not send me private mail. The
odds are, someone else will have the same questions, and by
asking on the talk-us@ list, others can benefit.

Downloads:

http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2018-08-06

Map to visualize what each file contains:

http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2018-08-06/kml/kml.html

FAQ

Why did you do this?

I wrote scripts to joined them myself to lessen the impact
of doing a large join on Lambertus's server. I've also
cut them in large longitude swaths that should fit conveniently
on removable media.

http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2018-08-06

Can or should I seed the torrents?

Yes!! If you use the .torrent files, please seed. That web
server is in the UK, and it helps to have some peers on this
side of the Atlantic.

Why is my map missing small rectangular areas?

There have been some missing tiles from Lambertus's map (the
red rectangles), I don't see any at the moment, so you may
want to update if you had issues with the last set.

Why can I not copy the large files to my new SD card?

If you buy a new card (especially SDHC), some are FAT16 from
the factory. I had to reformat it to let me create a >2GB
file.

Does your map cover Mexico/Canada?

Yes!! I have, for the purposes of this map, annexed Ontario
in to the USA. Some areas of North America that are close
to the US also just happen to get pulled in to these maps.
This might not happen forever, and if you would like your
non-US area to get included, let me know.

[OSM-talk-fr] édition mécanique : nettoyage is_in:continent

2018-08-07 Thread marc marc
Bonsoir,

operator=Enedis

[Talk-GB] 'historic' county boundaries added to the database

2018-08-07 Thread Dave F

Hi

User smb1001 is currently adding county boundary relations with
boundary=historic through out the UK:

http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/ASf (May take a while to run)

Changeset discussion:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/61410203

From the historic wiki page
"historic objects should not be mapped as it is outside of scope of OSM"

Frankly I don't buy his comments. The problem is where to stop? Do we
have ever iteration of every boundary change since time immemorial? Then
what about buildings, roads, or coastline changes etc? The database
would become unmanageable for editors (it already is if zoomed out too
far).

I think these edits should be revoked.

Cheers
DaveF

I was collecting street centerline data as part of OpenAddresses a while
ago here: https://github.com/openaddresses/centerlines

I'm happy to add you to this repo if you want to use this repo or feel free

My goal with this was to pull all this data into a single, country-wide
layer to map in OSM with. I'm happy to help you down that path, if that's

2018-08-07 Thread Giuliano Zamboni

Ciao a tutti,
prima... (scusate il maiuscolo, è un copia/incolla):
"SI COMUNICA CHE DA LUNEDI’ 06.08.2018 INIZIERA’ LA
RISTRUTTURAZIONE DEL PONTE DELLA VITTORIA A CURA DI ANAS SPA.
DALLE ORE 14.00 DEL GIORNO 06.08.2018 ALLE ORE 14.00 DEL
  07/08/2018 E DALLE ORE 07.00 DEL 08/08/2018 ALLE ORE 18.00 DEL
11/08/2018 VI SARA’ LA CHIUSURA TOTALE DEL PONTE.
DAL GIORNO 12.08.2018 FINO AL GIORNO 02.09.2018 IL PONTE RIMARRA’
CHIUSO, MA CON UNA CORSIA CENTRALE LIBERA PER IL SENSO UNICO
  ALTERNATO, REGOLATO DA SEMAFORO.
DAL GIORNO 02.09.2018 E FINO AL GIORNO 07.09.2018 CI SARA’ DI
NUOVO LA CHIUSURA TOTALE DEL PONTE.
SI AVVISA CHE DURANTE TUTTO IL PERIODO DEL CANTIERE SARA’ SEMPRE
POSSIBILE ATTRAVERSARE IL PONTE A PIEDI (O CON BICICLETTA A MANO)
  IN ENTRAMBI I SENSI."

  Grazie!

  Giuliano (bellazambo)

http://rennes.lepiller.eu/xXHZn4kj--.1.jpg

da cache serveri imaju apsolutno sve tileove, a render serveri im pošalju

Midcounties are also adopting the "new" cloverleaf Co-op logo in many
places, while their Chipping Norton shop, curiously, uses the Co-operatives
UK logo. There's so much overlap (particularly between Midcounties and the
Co-operative Group) that they really need to be surveyed to find the
operator, which I agree would be useful information.

Shipston-on-Stour has two Co-ops literally three doors away from each other
- one Midcounties, one Co-operative Group (ex-Somerfield).

Re: [Talk-GB] New Ghosts Set and Survey Me Auto-Location Feature

2018-08-07 Thread Philip Barnes
I have recently been thinking we should be tagging co-op shops with the
operator tag.

Until recently I had seen it as a geographical thing, ie. It is in Shropshire
so it must be a mid-counties. Mid-counties use the same green branding that
Central England use in Leicestershire.

Recently new blue branded co-op shops have started to appear, some have changed
and at least one has opened in direct competition with an existing Mid-counties.

Re: [Talk-it] regexp per cognomi

2018-08-07 Thread Cascafico Giovanni

correttamente.

[OSM-talk-be] JOSM preset "Mapping in Belgium" updated

2018-08-07 Thread Santens Seppe
Hi all,

I've done an update of the JOSM preset "Mapping in Belgium" (thanks a lot
Escada for all the work he put into this). The result can be found here:
https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Presets/BENELUX
I've added a few chain stores based on
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:NL:BelgianChainStores:A (not
finished yet); changed a few things based on recent discussions (mainly on
Riot/Matrix); did a complete overhaul of the structure/grouping to match the
standard preset.

All comments or contributions are of course welcome!

Hi Colin,

Oh and another where the fhrs listing has the wrong postcode!

Please add the wrong postcode using not:addr:postcode and add a note to
say that the FHRS postcode disagrees e.g.

recognise this and will no longer list it as a postcode mismatch.

2018-08-07 Thread Gregrs

Hi Colin,

I know of a local business which has closed but is still listed in
gregrs tool. What can I do about it?

Thanks for your question. If the building is still unused, perhaps you
could leave the fhrs:id tag in place and add a disused: prefix (see
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:disused:). If the building has
changed use, you could tag with old:fhrs:id. The comparison tool won't
currently recognise this but there is a feature request open
(https://github.com/gregrs-uk/python-fhrs-osm/issues/50) and it will
serve as a warning to other mappers.

Thanks,
