You have not acknowledged that you understand why we are not satisfied with the 
edit done by biancah_telenav.

Would you please ask biancah to "disimprove_osm" and revert changeset 41680708. 
There are 3 major errors in that changeset.

I have some real (surveyed) improvements to add to the map and I would prefer 
to add them on solid grounds.

By the way, I recommend to all Canadian mappers to verify all changesets 
generated by Telenav. In the next few weeks I will verify and survey work done 
by biancah_telenav and florinbadita_telenav in my area. The Canadian portion of 
the Map is not a Etch-a-Sketch (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etch_A_Sketch)
for novices.

Among the 700 changesets generated by biancah in the last 6 weeks, I would say 
that 30% of them are titled "added ways" and 40% are titled with "added lanes 
number". Not very informative IMHO.

Improve_osm derived modifications Quebec + Labrador

I see a lot of highway=service roads added on industrial company sites. They 
seem in general ok.I also see residential highways added with the correct 
spelling of the street name (source:name=geobase.ca ? )example Rue des Cèdres

to one house only. not highway=residential. And how useful to add these housing 
service roads?

might have been opened 10-15 years ago to cut wood. But we dont know if this is 
a permanent road, if culvert and bridges are repaired, what is the exact 
condition of the road.  Even on the main roads, this is very hasardous to drive

Je viens de découvrir qu'un problème identique s'est produit sur le Chemin de 
la Presqu'Ile (au nord du Lac Cornu, chemin 438953404). Le chemin a été 
prolongé jusqu'au Chemin Chaloux, ce qui ne correspond pas à la réalité.
J'aimerais bien connaître la méthodologie de biancah_telenav.

Ce changement fait aussi partie du groupe 4168708 qui mérite d'être renversé.

Est-ce qu quelqu'un connaît une façon de visualiser la carte à une date 
donnée?
Est-ce qu'il existe une archive des tuiles OSM?

Hi Mihai
I also commented about how the telenav contributors edited using improve_osm.
Using infos coming from navigation software tools client usage, we have to be 
careful. It can be a service road in an industy courtyard, a forest road 
accessible only to specialized equipment, etc. It is then important for 
improve_osm collaborators and validators using such quality tools in general to 
evaluate carefully the information, confirm with imagery and sometimes local 
knowledge. 
About the usage of the source key by improve_osm contributors, I opened  three 
weeks ago this ticket on Github, with no answer 
yet.https://github.com/Telenav/improve-osm-plugin/issues/13

The source=improve_osm_tn key-value pair is used to report the quality tool 
used to detect areas where improvements could eventually made.  This is an 
improper use of the source tag. This tag is to report the source (ie, local 
knowledge, field data collect, aerial imagery). I suggest that quality tools 
such as improve_osm use a specific key to report usage of this quality tool. It 
could be something like quality_tool=improve_osm_tn. Some tools like the OSM 
Tasking manager pass directly such keys to either ID or JOSM. This is then 
added to the Changeset comment.

It would be nice if they were actual improvements, rather than breaking
the map. Claiming Bing aerial imagery as a source in an area where the
imagery is a vague blur shows that your Telenav mappers are making up
map connections.

I'm looking at your own edits in Toronto. How can you tell which service
roads are public access, and which deserve access=private? Where is
Telenav's methodology documented, please?

Canadian mappers really should take a look on overpass to see where
there are source=improve_osm_tn edits. There are a couple of hundred in
Halifax/Dartmouth, over 1400 in the GTA, about 1500 around
Montreal/Laval, and over 4000 around Edmonton. (None in the NCR so far,
btw). Most of the work seems to be industrial access roads.

Looks like the original ways were linked to other ones by someone from Telenav 
(according to reasonable image interpretation) but they should not according to 
actual feature on the ground. The user is asking the changeset to be reverted, 
especially since the Bing imagery identified as source does not allow that 
interpretation.

Bon je poursuis lecture a rebours de tes courriels. Oui il y a une façon simple 
d'avoir une image d'une zone à un instant précis. Voici une requête Overpass. 
Il faut zoomer sur la zone a analyser et modifier la date. Puis on clique pour 
exécuter.
