Well, here the customizer is broken on 3.72.11 (that's why I'm using 3.72.10).
I tried to alter my customizations and I got AVG. Rolled back to 3.72.10 and I
managed to do the changes I wanted.

And something about the customizer itself

Some entries have the same name do different things. For example on
All Actions/Mailer Form there are two Delete The first deletes the
account and the second deletes the folder. The customizer must gives a hint
about the selected function because trial and error is very dangerous
approach especially with functions like Delete...

MAU It is not only a large fonts issue. I don't use them and the lower

Miguel, I had not forgotten that from our earlier discussion, when I
first reported my problem with beta v. 3.72.05.

But the part that destroys usability in editing the Folder Properties
set-up for me is the No Buttons at all visible when I select large
fonts in the Windows/Properties/Settings configuration.

Whether it's all caused by the same code-writing is a question for the
developers, I guess.

So you're welcome to add a note expanding on the Folder/Properties
dialogue window interface problems to my BT issue report, if you have
the time.

http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5817

I don't often have a need to change folder properties. I have only one
folder where I've set up templates different from the
Account/Properties templates. That's the one from which I do Smileys-
Administrator correspondence.

Still, I should be able to change folder properties without reverting
to beta v. 3.72.04. And right now, I can't. :(

Customisation settings Import notes

2006-04-21 Thread Valerye Bostan
Dear User

I feel I have to drop a few notes about previous version of
customisation/interface system
and what we currently have implemented.

The interface of TheBat! can be changing while it is in development stages,
some of these changes we can
add are a lot of new interface items, such as menu modifications, toolbar items
and new buttons.

This strategy of adding new parts to the interface is not compatible with
previous
versions of customisation, as customised objects were saved in TBUSER.DEF
(a script which holds current user changes) entirely.

Thus, if you modified the Main Menu of the general window of TheBat!,
TBUSER.DEF had to include the whole definition of the new user modified Main
Menu.
And if you had a newer version of TheBat! with some new menu items in Main
Menu, you would not see them until you
removed your current changes to Main Menu or re-added new appeared items using
Customiser on
their rightful places.

The new version of customisation/interface system uses a different way to store
user
changes to default TheBat! interface, saving only user modifications. But it
has a
drawback, because old modifications could NOT imported now - default objects
(built in menues, toolbars etc) cannot be modified from TBUSER.DEF anymore, and
importing of possible differences between old and new interface is not trivial.

In future, user modifications and developer-level modifications of interface
will
be merging much better with the help of this new interface system.

However, user-defined toolbars should be importing quite well.

Currently, customisation/interface system is being improved further.
Shortcut (hotkey) conflicts would be introduced again in the near future.

Thank you for attention!

Try a different theme. It is possible your theme is not showing

MB Ah, many thanks! That's indeed more convenient.

Something is screwy here. All I see is a heading of Conditions, but no
way to add or edit them. Also when I pick the Add button, I get a menu
that is something completely different and not at all related to
 filters.

Below the heading Conditions, I see Sender Contains, with a box to put
in the filter condition. And below that three buttons: Add Condition,
Add Block, and Delete. And when I click on the Add Condition button,
after filling in the Contains box, choices for adding a condition come
up.

When I click on Add I get a menu for Actions.

Just created a new filter in this way, and it's working.

I tried to make a screenshot, but couldn't get it small enough to meet
the requirements for sending an attachment to TBBETA, and still have
it legible.

prior to this, any message that lacks Message-Id was simply ignored by the dupekiller (Maintenance Centre invocation with "remove duplicates" checked).

the digest vector now is {MsgID, From, To, CC, BCC, Date} if the message has an MsgId and {From, To, CC, BCC, Date, Subject} if it does not have one.

such vectors are computed for each message and messages are considered dupes if their digests are identical.

yes, this requires careful testing, as the change puts more responsibility on the Date field. any comments/suggestions are welcome at https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5818

I decided to pick the maximize button, and with the filter in full

I agree. I'd like to confirm the bug, but the window simply quits

I am doing nothing special with my system and there is absolutely no
evidence of a Condition list box. It was only by picking the maximize
button that it showed up. I have now resized the dialog so that it
shows the information. For some reason the actions list box is fixed
and the conditions list box takes the hit.

Something is indeed wrong. I hope someone else will be able to confirm
the bad behavior.

It turns out that the sorting office dialog needed to be resized. I
had done nothing to shrink it, but if it gets below a certain size,
rather than reduce the size of both the conditions and actions (with
scroll bars as appropriate), the conditions list box has to sacrifice
itself! It is a bug that needs to be addressed.

I know it is a bug, and I'd like to be able to confirm it. However, as
I've just written to you, I can't shrink the dialogue window down
enough to cause the bad behavior. It balks at about dimensions of 5 x
3 1/2 inches.

A colour? A mark or flag? I don't think there is currently but such a feature would be good!

I can see that by using the "Remove Duplicates" option from right
click resource the items are moved to Trash. Is the same true of the Maintenance Centre?

the same routine is involved.

the above 2 quoted paragraph, if put together, leads to one wish for v4 - let Trash folder have a per-message "origin folder" field. this will make the undeletion easier. limitation: doubtfully possible if Trash is IMAP-hosted.

waddya think?

I was merely joking and yes, you are right, it would only be applied when the
Maintenance Centre is run.

If you want to check it you could copy some messages with the same subject in
a folder, select the folder and

- right click on the folder, then choose remove duplicates or use
- Ctrl-D (invokes same action).

Hello Ian,

Well, here is one screen capture.

There is an extra button on the title bar of your Sorting Office. The
one with a down pointed arrow (triangle) about 1 cm to the left of the
Minimise button. Where does it come from? That's not a standard Windows
button, is it?

Hello 9Val,

The Bat! 3.72.11 (Beta) is now available from:
M Seems to work :)

 It shouldn't? :)

Well, I found a little problem with Watch folders that seem to not
update (refresh) properly after starting TB and need a manual refresh.
Problem is still in v3.72.12. I'll open a BT report and describe it
better as soon as I have some time.

maybe I should ask a different question, has the identification
changed so that messages which do not have duplicate message ids could
be identified as duplicates? If so that is a bug, and mistake and a
disaster waiting to happen. What good is it to put the duplicate
message in the trash where it is going to be emptied out anyway?

Re: Customisation settings Import notes

viernes, 21 abr 2006 at 20:00, it seems you wrote:

The new version of customisation/interface system uses a different way to
 store user
changes to default TheBat! interface, saving only user modifications. But it
 has a
drawback, because old modifications could NOT imported now - default objects
(built in menues, toolbars etc) cannot be modified from TBUSER.DEF anymore,
 and
importing of possible differences between old and new interface is not
 trivial.

In future, user modifications and developer-level modifications of interface
 will
be merging much better with the help of this new interface system.

However, user-defined toolbars should be importing quite well.

Ok. Thanks a lot this it's we wanted to know. Old menu customizations
will not be imported, but old user-defined toolbars should be imported
correctly.

Here it's my custom toolbar that it's not correctly imported:
 - Receive new mail
 - Get New mail for all
 - Send queued mail
 - Separator
 - Create a new message with submenu for use Quick Template
 - Reply
 - Reply to all
 - Forward
 - Redirect
 - Separator
 - Mark as Junk
 - Separator
 - Delete

I have one old tbuser.def/tbuser.eef with menu customizations and this
custom toolbar.

The importation process should import correctly the custom toolbar, or
the process sees I have custom menus and aborts the importation?

PD: If you want I could send you privately my tbuser.def for testing
purposes.
