[Wishlist] Right group?

2011-03-07 Thread Daniel
Hello,
I didn't found more suitable group, and after working with Outlook I
have some proposal/wishes for TB!:
1) flags in different colours - it makes work easier
2) processing of reading confirmation - in Outlook sent message is
marked when the reading confirmation is received.

TB supports colour groups, you can define them yourself. Basically you
assign a colour to the message as it's listed in the message list.

D 2) processing of reading confirmation - in Outlook sent message is
D marked when the reading confirmation is received.

Off hand I cannot think of a way to do this.

Any suggestions for a workaround?

computer to use the remote as well. When I did this the second computer's
 local
Sent folder disappeared along with all the messages stored in it.

First question, do those messages still exist?
Second question, can they be recovered?
Third question, should this be allowed to happen? Is it not possible to look
 at
the local folder and see it has messages and then offer to move those
 messages
 to the remote folder?

Is there anyone that can address this?

SC First question, do those messages still exist?

I guess so.
Check the account directory of your imap account and see whether it
contains a SENT directory. That should contain your old local sent
mail.

SC Second question, can they be recovered?

I guess so.
Create a common folder. (Those tend to be local.)
Close TB
Copy the contents of your local sent directory to the directory
matching that common folder
Start TB
Open your common folder

SC Third question, should this be allowed to happen?

Yes. You tell TB to link a name to a remote folder in stead of a local
folder, so it links that name to said remote folder, no problem.

SC Is it not possible to look at the local folder and see it has
SC messages and then offer to move those messages to the remote
SC folder?

That's the same as telling your boss you've moved to a different
location and that you want him to send your paycheck to that new
location (not unreasonable in itself) and then expect him to offer to
bring your wallet to your new home.

I don't really see why. If you install a new version of TB it does not destroy
your data, so I don't see why it could not realize that you were about to lose
mail from you sent folder and offer to do something about it. (and if your
boss
were reasonable he would do just that) :)

I will try your suggestion about saving the sent folder and see how it goes.

It's always safer to copy things, then delete the old one when
presence at the new location is verified.
