Re: [The Bat! 4.0.14.4] Problem with [alt]+[L] in MicroEd

2008-02-22 Thread MAU
Hello Volker,

I have a problem with MicroEd when I paste unformatted text:

 1. The line breaks will not created automatically like in
RTF-Editor. - Screenshot [1]

I have seen this in other versions of TB also. It may be WAD, but I'm
not sure.

 2. After [alt]+[L] the line breaks are okay, but beginning of the
lines are not visible and a useless horizontal scrollbar occurs.
- Screenshot [2]

Yes, I have seen this also. Not every time though.

Vista 64 is a lot more sensitive to where files are placed and
currently the userdic.tlx file has to go in the Speller directory.
This file should be placed in the users AppData directory along with
the rest of the personal settings for TB. I've tried to manually edit
the registry and place the userdic.tlx file in C:\Users\My

[The Bat! 4.0.14.4] [MicroEd] Hyphenation at Line End does not work properly

2008-02-22 Thread Volker Ahrendt
Hello, folks!

BT report: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6845

At the line end words with hyphens should break like this:

Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy MicroEd-
Problem Dummy Text Dummy Text.

But *MicroEd* breaks the line like this:

Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy Text Dummy
MicroEd-Problem Dummy Text Dummy Text.

The Plain Text (Windows) Editor works properly.

For me this is a very annoying behaviour, because in German there a
several compound nouns, which contain hyphens.

Hello Volker,

I don't think so, because the RTF-Editor behaves in the
 different/correct way.

What do you actually understand as RTF-Editor? Perhaps using
'HTML/Plain text' or 'HTML Only' formats?

Okay, my fault: I mean the Plain Text Editor (Windows).

OK. Then try this if you haven't done so before:

1.- Copy a long unformatted line from somewhere.
2.- Open Plain Text Editor (Windows) and paste it.
3.- You will *see* it formatted into a paragraph (if it was long enough),
but it is only *visually* so.
4.- Make the editor window narrower and you will see the text
reformatting as the window narrows.
5.- Now switch to 'Plain Text (MicroEd)' and you will see that the long
line is still unformatted. That is because 'windows editor' did not
break lines with a 'hard return'.
6.- Now, while in MicroEd, reformat with Ctrl+L.
7.- Then switch to windows editor and you will see the same formatting.
8.- And now try narrowing the windows editor window. You will see that
_each_ line reformats, not the whole paragraph. That is because MicroEd
introduced 'hard returns' when you did Ctrl+L.

I think each editor is behaving as expected.

It doesn't matter. Threaded view (by reference) just gave me a hint

SSCE spellchecker still doesn't work for me on my Vista 64 machine.
Brakes as soon as even one file is copied to the Speller directory
(for example userdic.tlx). See

The weird thing is that it works on my laptop (running Window XP) and
doesn't work on PC (running Vista 64).

I've compared the registry settings and they look exactly the same
(everything what is speller related).

Using Hunspell at the moment.

Hello Miroslav,

Was this macro ever present? I only know the following CSAPI macros.

Must have been...as it worked nicely on 3.x

 %LANGUAGE=CSAPI GE

Tried this one, and it works! Thanks a lot, could have thought of
this myself though ;-)

Background information: GN was supposed to switch to Neue Deutsche
Rechtschreibung (the new orthography introduced for the german
language some years ago) while GE was used for old orthography. But as
far as I tested I am using new orthography with GE now...don't ask me
how this works.

Which is the first release version with the new spell check system as
this would have to have the necessary files?

The first time the new dlls were 'released' was within the .rar file of
one of the Alphas (4.0.0.9?) and later with the msi files of RC. The
first _release_ version to was 4.0.14.

4.0.14 was a release version? I must have missed that. What I am
missing currently is the warning you are using a beta version, so I
am not sure whether I am using a release at this moement or not.
(Since it came as a .rar file, I suspect it is a beta)

Will Check for update be resurrected sometime in the future? I

4.0.14.4 : CSAPI dictionary macro %language not working as before

2008-02-15 Thread Martin Schuster
Hello Tbbeta,

I have the following macro in my quicktemplates to
switch to the german spell checker:

%LANGUAGE=CSAPI GN%-

That worked in 3.99.29, but does not work any more on 4.x - 4.0.14.1

I suppose that's because the key for German Language is no longer
GN (mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] seems to point this
way).

Anybody knows a way to find out what the correct code would be?

2008-02-15 Thread Martin Schuster
Hello Uwe,

 %LANGUAGE=CSAPI GN%-

That worked in 3.99.29, but does not work any more on 4.x - 4.0.14.1

As I understood from previous discussion %LANGUAGE=GN should be
enough. At least it works for SSCE. I cannot test CSAPI as I don't
 have Office 97.

No, '%LANGUAGE=GN' does not work.

Spell check NO GO (was: Re: 4.0.14.4)

2008-02-15 Thread MAU
Hello Mike,

I must be doing something wrong then. I haven't been able to get spell
checking to work at all. I've tried almost every suggestion I've seen
 here and nothing has helped.

You will have to give a little more detail about what I haven't been
able to get spell checking to work at all really means.
- What engine(s) and language(s)?
- Doesn't mark any words as misspelled?
- Doesn't correct them?
- Are you using 'Auto correct', 'Check entire text, etc.?
- Etc.

Using The Bat! v4.0.14.1 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3, v.3300

- You seem to be using v4.0.14.1. Which was your upgrade path to this
version? Which was the last *.msi file you did a full installation from?

- You seem to be using XP SP3 which, AFAIK, is a RC and has not been
released yet. Why? Have you tried with SP2 only?

- Can you export your registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\SpellCheck

and include it as a text attachment?

And I can't think of any more questions at the moment.

Hello Maxim,

Up and running.

Great job my friends! All three engines with their corresponding user
dictionaries (including CSAPI ones) seem to working just fine and, as
expected, the Hunspell and CSAPI user dictionaries are selected
according to language(s) selected for the Dictionary to add to list,
etc.

Only thing I've seen so far is that in the Edit Dictionaries dialog
(Spell Checker/Dictionaries) the three buttons 'New file...', 'Add
file' and 'Removed' are always greyed out. Is there work still pending
on this or is it a bug?

I must be doing something wrong then. I haven't been able to
get spell checking to work at all. I've tried almost every
suggestion I've seen here and nothing has helped.

I am in a similar situation to you but have had some success
thanks to MAUand can get Hunspell to work.

in v4.0.14.1 I am still unable to get SSCE working
Hunspell is working as before by renaming SSCE5532 ext to dllnn and
re-loading TB
The add to user dictionary in Hunspell is now also working
Note that each word is checked as characters entered (does not wait
for space at end of word) - this is no problem but looks strange.

Best regards,
 Graham
