Greetings BatPeople,

Same AV problem here.. yet a little different. I tried to reply to an
email I opened from the scrolling alert. But on trying to edit the
draft, I got constant AV just by moving the mouse in that window. I
had to open Task Manager and kill TB! in order to close the edit
session.

On restart I was able to reply via the green arrow reply icon from
the preview window without error.

For those getting the AVs are they from replying in the main
(preview) window, or a detached message view window?

Sorry, yes. I didn't want to reply to all postings just to find it out,
but answering to you is causing reproducible AVs. Others like Richard's and
Mary's were to reply to without a flaw. Some AVs only happen once,
others fill that gap and spoil the fun. Clicking on an icon ie or
highlighting a text to F4-it caused AVs. IMHO unusable.

The Bat! 3.61.08 Echo (Beta) is now available from:

I have just had to kill The Bat! v. 3.61.08 with the Windows Task
Manager.

First I attempted to Reply, using selected text, by holding down
Shift and clicking on the green Reply-arrow icon.

I got an External Exception error. When I clicked on OK, I got an AV
009EB904 in module 'The Bat.exe' Read of address .

Clicking on OK cleared that.

So I tried doing a full quote, using the Reply icon.

This brought on a series of AVs with varying addresses, which I
finally escaped with the Task Manager. Here are the first two:

AV 009EB404 Read of 0040

followed, upon clicking OK, by
AV 009DC409 read of

and so on.

After I relaunched TB!, I set up this Reply to you doing a full quote
and clicking on Reply in the Message menu. No problem whatsoever using
the menu for Reply.

I don't use Keyboard Shortcuts, so can't report on whether Reply works
okay with them.

worked a few times, but then suddenly F4 was opening a reply window with
no addresses, no text...all blank fields.

I have just had to kill The Bat! v. 3.61.08 with the Windows Task
 Manager.

... a series of AVs with varying addresses, which I
finally escaped with the Task Manager. Here are the first two:

 AV 009EB404 Read of 0040

 followed, upon clicking OK, by
 AV 009DC409 read of

 ...

Happening consistently now.

Additionally, AV on Send:

0092861 Write of address 0319.

Consistent numbers, every time. 4 separate Sends now
Clicking on OK clears the warning box and TB! sends the message--at
least it appears in my Sent folder.

Can't live with this. Dropping back to v. 3.61.07.

Confirmed.

First there was

Access violation at address 00B435A5 in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of
address 000C.

Then an endless series of

Access violation at address 00BFEDEA in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of

Me too.

MB First I attempted to Reply, using selected text, by holding down
MB Shift and clicking on the green Reply-arrow icon.

I don't have any toolbars enabled, so I've got to manage with
shortcuts.

Anyway, replying went fine, opening messages went fine.
But then I had to open a mailto: url in the exploder and I got some
AV's. Afterwards I decided to confirm these AV's to you, but my
replying to your message got TB stuck in the mud of recurring AV's.

After a restart everything is fibe. (till now)

Exactly the same numbers as I saw each time I used the Reply icon,
whether for Selected text (with Shift depressed) or for a full quote.

I was able to Reply from the Message menu Reply entry only one time.
After that, I began to see the AVs as described above whatever route I
tried to set up the Reply Edit message window from.

In case it makes any difference: I'm using MicroEd.

Have dropped back to .07.

Oh, it's been a feature for a *long* time. At least since 2.xx.
It's my mainstay, since I'm a mouse person.

 Shift-reply to all DOES NOT
 work, and it should.

Works here. Are you sure that you highlighted (selected) the text
before trying that?

Absolutely, unless you think you'll get lucky, as Cees did.

When I hit SHIFT and REPLY TO ALL, I get the whole message, not just
the highlighted part.

Hmm. Sorry. I do confirm.

The test I made was on such a short message, where I quoted the
message body, and your cut mark was working, that I overlooked that
part of your greeting template was also quoted.

So, I do confirm.

Off to do a search in BT. If it's not already reported there, I'll
write a new BT report. If it is, I'll put a note that the problem
still exists in 3.61.08.

Stay tuned. I'll be back with a BT link shortly.
