Hi Maxim

Are you using GnuPG version 1 or version 2?

If this can help I found the command string when TheBat! is calling
gnupg:

GnuPG decrypt problem

2011-08-03 Thread Martin Schoch
Hi TBBETA

with the recent version 5.0.22.3 of TheBat! on Windows XP I can't
decrypt an encrypted GPG message.

The logout of GPG window

gpg: can't query passphrase in batch mode
gpg: encrypted with 2048-bit RSA key, ID , created 2011-08-02
gpg: public key decryption failed: bad passphrase
gpg: decryption failed: secret key not available

GnuPG seems to be installed correctly - decrypt with Thunderbird works
without any problems.

BTW. With version 5.0.9.1 of TheBat! decrypt works as well.

[v5.x]: Editor Problem - Formatting Lines

2011-08-03 Thread Dierk Haasis
Hello TBBETA Members!

For some v5 builds now there's a very annoying bug in TB's
editor[s]. Putting the cursor at the end of the line, hitting
Enter, then starting to write gives that mangled formatting. The
new line is pulled back into the previous, then the whole paragraph
  is reformatted automatically.

Particularly bad when I try to build a table-like e-mail.

Filtering problem in 5.0.12.14

2011-06-11 Thread Simon Martin
Title: Filtering problem in 5.0.12.14

Hi all,

Just started having problems with filtering in 5.0.12.14. My scenario is follows.

1.- I have 2 IMAP accounts: A, a GMail account, and B, a self hosted courier IMAP server.

2.- I use gmail as a spam filter. All incoming SMTP for my mail address (B) is forwarded to my gmail account (A).

3.- TB! filters mail from my GMail account (A) into my main account (B).

4.- With version 5.0.12.14 when filtering starts I get an empty dialog box with a useless cancel button that just sits there, IMAP accounts disconnect. With version 5.0.12.13 filtering works as expected, mails are filtered from A to B and then the B inbox is filtered into the correct places.

Regards.

Hi All,

Then I didn't check on it for a few days. I checked a folder 2 days
ago and there was no new backups so I opened Autobackup settings and
had checked on them - they were proper and I didn't change anything.

Checked today again and 26.05 autobackup was created but 27.05 was
 skipped again

So, since 23.05 I have only two daily backups instead of five.

Just had opened Options again ; had them reviewed (no changes made)
and will know in next 9 hours if it's created.

Had to leave for 6 days for a business trip and left PC on for that
time ; no new autobackups were created for this 6 days...

It was created today after I entered options and reentered them...

Apart of that after getting back I had:
- an Access violation window (00B3A5F7) in module thebat.exe. Read of
address 0153,
- The Bat: System Error. Code 1158
- The Bat: A component named FolderMaintenancer_596 already exist.

After pressing all OK buttons had to kill TB! - was not hanging but
selecting any message was not showing it. Exit was not working as
well.

Filtering problem with release version 5.0.12

2011-06-01 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello Tbbeta,

A user on TBUDL has the following problem with the release version
5.0.12:

QUOTE

I have a filter that has been in use for many years that filters all emails
addressed to a specific address, it moves them to a folder marks the message
as Read and then Parks it.

This has worked well for a long time but since the upgrade to V5 has stopped
functioning properly, it's almost as if the message is parked before it is
moved so I end up with the original in the Inbox marked as Read and Parked
with a copy being put in the other folder also marked as Read and Parked.

The actions are:

Move to the folder \\Barry\Fax Server\Received
Mark the message as read
Mark the message as parked.

... Additional info:

The problem seems to lie with the action of parking the message. If I remove
that action from the filter then all works OK. If I include the action to
park the message then the original message remains in the Inbox with the Park
flag set.

UNQUOTE

Can anybody confirm? If so, I'll open a bug report.

My guess would be downloadrules.dat in your mail directory.
In case of doubt you can rename it to downloadrules.dat.old.

RO My guess would be downloadrules.dat in your mail directory.
RO In case of doubt you can rename it to downloadrules.dat.old.

Thanks, that seems ot have worked. Even though there were no rules it still
allowed everything through and now it has stopped.

Outgoing Mail Filter Problem

2010-05-25 Thread Jim
Hello,

I hope that someone can confirm this or tell me if it has been
fixed. I'm currently using 4.2.24.5 and set an outgoing filter to
forward a message of all outgoing emails from a specific account to
my boss (he wants to see everything - don't ask).

My problem comes from TB forwards a copy as planned, but then gets
stuck in a never ending look to send a forward of the forward (since
  another email was created).

  Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

Re: Outgoing Mail Filter Problem

2010-05-25 Thread Jim
Hello Zygmunt,

Thank you for the response. Actually, I was able to create a work
around by simply setting the filter from Any Message to Recipient
does not equal and my boss's email address. (besides, if I send him
an email to begin with, I don't need another copy of it going to him)

I would think that TB would be able to catch that loop, though.

[The Bat! 4.2.33.3 Beta] Problem with Macros and Address-Book

2010-02-05 Thread Volker Ahrendt
Moin, folks!

I do not know in which version it broke, but it *definitely* worked in
previous versions:

I use this macro in some templates:

%If:%ToAddr=%ABToEmail:TEXT_A:TEXT_B

This in general works fine as long as there is only *one* eMail-Address
assigned to the corresponding address-book contact, i.e. TEXT_A is
displayed.

But if more than one eMail-Address is assigned to a contact and you
choose the *secondary* Address, TEXT_B is displayed although it has to
be TEXT_A.

Can someone confirm this bug?

Cheers!

Postponed sending - another problem

2009-12-06 Thread Carsten Guthardt-Schulz
Is it by design that if I create a message with postponed sending set, then
don't hit the send button, but simply save it (shift-F2), then no warning
appears, but the message gets sent a the scheduled time?

I was under the impression that the message wouldn't get sent, since I didn't
hit the Send button (and didn't receive the postponed-send-warning either). I
had scheduled it to +1 hour, so my intention was to edit the message later the
day, hit Send then and have it sent another hour later. Now it got sent
unfinished.

Small connection problem when missing GnuPG

2009-07-20 Thread Martin Schoch
Hi list

As written in my last messge: I made a fresh installation of TheBat!
on a Vista machine and I imported messages and configuration.

In my old configuration I had also GnuPG installed - on the new Vista
not.

In the sending configuration I had signing message as default.

When I try to send a message with this configuration the message isn't
sent - because the GnuPG isn't found.

BUT: There is no error message about that - the editor window is still
open and nothing happens.

New install, restoring (old) backup, problem with sending mail

2009-07-09 Thread Vili
It is the second case I observed it at a user, it seems to be reproducible:

- v4.0: make a backup
- remove v4.0
- install v4.1 or v4.2
- restore the backup
- send some mails, everything looks ok
- restart TB
- sent mails after the restore are NOT in the Sent mail folder
- compose a mail, try to send it from the mal composing screen immediately
- error: Cannot export mail
- close the mail composing screen (put the letter in the Outbox)
- go to the Main screen. The mail is in the Outbox, so send it from
the main screen. It works, and after it you can even send mails from
the mail composing window, TB is cured.

What bothers me is that users lose mails... It mus be connected
somehow to the new index file, I guess. I will test it further.

Please confirm it.

PS: Is it normal that I made a support ticket into the official
Ritlabs support system (about MAPI) and after 4 days of internal
ping-pong (you do it, no, you do it) still no answer? What is your
experience, if any? I try to help my users immediately or max 1 day.
Am I overzealous?

TBK format in 4.1 and 4.0 is not same, it is needed to restore TBK in older
version and then upgrade to 4.1 or older. You should be prompted about

Filter problem

2009-07-06 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello all ,

I have a filter that I activate manually. It has worked for at least 2 years on
the currently highlighted message. In this version it not only acts on the
message that is highlighted, but on the one above it as well. (As if you held
the combination of keys too long)

This filter exports the message to a text file and has two sub-filters. The
first creates an automatic reply and the second moves the original message to a
different folder.

In order to test this I created a new filter. I did it one step at a time.
Export step - Resulted in the same message being exported twice instead of just
once.
Automatic Reply - Same result as above with 2 messages being sent to the
same
address.
Move to a different folder - Resulted in the original scenario. The current
message and the previous message are both exported, two replies to the two
messages and 2 messages moved.

This is extremely odd and very dangerous. I have copied my newly created filter
below. It should work with the only modification needed being a to the
folder the files are moved to.

Try out on some test messages. By removing the check mark from step 3 you
should be able to see the other result I was getting as well.

An address book accessibility problem

2009-06-14 Thread Claude Renaud
Hello all,

I'm blind and am using JAWS as my default screen reader.
I notice since I use the 4.x version of tb that JAWS does not read
correctly the field name I'm in when navigating in the address book.
And even sometimes It sounds like the field I'm in does not seem to be
aligned with its label : I say that because I have difficulty to know
with JAWS where I'm exactly. This behaviour can be observed in the
business tab for example...
Have someone (blinds if there are other) else noticed this ?
And could someone put a entry on the BT (if needed of course) ?

The message then stick in the out box and it never seams to get seme. I have
to open it back up and then sent the time delay to ensure it get sent.

I have had this for a number of beta's.

I will keep on testing this to ensure that I still have the problem.

[Bug]? Problem with %ATTACHMENTS-macro

2009-05-30 Thread mse
Hello all,

can anyone confirm the following experiences?

First experience:
1) Use an account template (new message) that contains the %ATTACHMENTS-macro.
2) Start a new message, enter recipient and subject, goto text
section, enter some text, add an attachment.
3) The %ATTACHMENT-macro says none.

Second experience:
1) Use an account template (new message) that contains the %ATTACHMENTS-macro.
2) Start a new message, enter recipient and subject, add an attachment.
3) The %ATTACHMENT-macro displays correct attachment name.

Third experience:
1) Use an account template (new message) that contains the %ATTACHMENTS-macro.
2) Start a new message, go to text section, enter some text, add an attachment.
3) The %ATTACHMENT-macro says none.

Forth experience: (The important one)
1) Use an account template (new message) that contains the %ATTACHMENTS-macro.
2) Start a new message, go to text section, add an attachment.
3) The %ATTACHMENT-macro displays correct attachment name.

Fifth experience: (The most important one)
1) Use an account template (new message) that contains the %ATTACHMENTS-macro.
2) Start a new message, go to text section, add an attachment.
3) The %ATTACHMENT-macro displays correct attachment name.
4) Add another attachment.
5) The %ATTACHMENT-macro displays both correct attachment names.
6) Enter some message text.
7) Add another attachment.
8) The %ATTACHMENT-macro still displays only two attachment names.

Ergo:
Is it correct, that the %ATTACHMENTS-macro only works when there has
not been entered any message text yet?
Is it correct, that the %ATTACHMENTS-macro is not being recalled after
message text has been entered?

Sorry for that long and super-detailed description but it's already
late and I start to get tired.

Hello Ian,

The %Attachment macro only works if the attachment is already in the
message. It will not update each time you insert an attachment into
 the message.

So you couldn't reproduce experience no.5? It works here, i.e. the
macro updates the attachment list whenever a new attachment is added
as long as there hasn't been any text entered in the message section.

Cookie line (shortened):

»He felt […] it.«\n\nDouglas Adams (1952 - 2001), »The […] the Galaxy«

Up to The Bat! 4.1.11.19 the cookie was displayed correctly (wrapped
quotation, blank line, author):

cookie

»He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes
wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.«

Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001), »The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy«

With The Bat! 4.1.11.20 an additional blank line between quotation and
author was introduced:

cookie

»He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes
wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.«

Sorting Office Problem/Suggestion

2009-05-29 Thread Steven P Vallière

[At least] One of my filters has apparently stopped working.
Sadly, it is the one that deletes all of the messages that
SpamAssassin has tagged as SPAM, so its failure is having a
quite noticeable effect on my mail volume. I have the
condition as:

  Header field X-Spam-Status contains Yes
  OR Subject contains :SPAM:

And yet I still receive hundreds of messages that meet one
or both of those conditions.

Since it is /possibly/ (though highly unlikely) that an earlier
filter is grabbing them, I looked at the log to check, but alas,
the log only has the past few hours and shows none of the messages
I was looking for. I wanted to increase the log size, or have it
written to disk, but I cannot find any log control settings in the
preferences dialog.

So... I have a suggestion/request:

I think it would be nice to have an option that tells TB! to add
an additional mail header that names the filter TB! matched for
the message. For example, something like:

  X-TheBat-Filter: Mail From Joe

And maybe even an additional option to add the part of the rule
that triggered the match, if such a thing is known:

  X-TheBat-FilterRule: Sender contains j...@example.com

I know that the second part is asking a lot, but I think that the
first should be possible and it would keep a very useful piece of
information available as long as the message, without requiring a
very large log.

Would anyone care to second this idea?

I guess, MAU is talking about the quotation signature. When Windows
