2002-06-03 Thread Januk Aggarwal

Hello Joseph,

Historians believe that Sunday, June 2, 2002 at 22:12 GMT -0500 was
when, Joseph N. [JN] typed the following:

JN I have no clue where you got the language you used in the macro, but
JN it does the trick.

 Try this:
 mid:%SETPATTREGEXP=;(.*)%REGEXPMATCH=%OMSGID

It uses a regular expression. Regular expressions provide a powerful
tool in manipulating text. It is not appropriate to describe how this
expression works on this list, I suggest you take the question over to
the TBTECH list if you're interested in learning more.

No, there is no question. Outlook sets itself as default without

You should also be able to do it via your internet properties, go to

Already tried that too. As soon as I start Outlook these settings are

Remember that this macro has only the desired effect when you attach
the files before you edit the message.

This limitation can be avoided by inserting the macro in a quick
template and when you're done editing and attaching to call the quick
template by typing it's name followed by Ctrlspace

Download this:

Copy the account files/folders to a save place, except the account.cfg
Delete the account in TB
Create a new account.
Exit TB
Copy the saved files back to the new account.
Start TB
Now you'd be able to see the messages

What you've done now is to replace the account.cfg, since that's the
place where TB stores account specific info like passwords and
transport settings you're done now. TB has also forgotten the account
templates. (Not the folder and AB templates)

Good luck.

Using FIlters Properly

2002-06-03 Thread Andy Fluke

Hi folks,

I'm new to this list and I suppose my question is one that has been
asked before. I've been using The Bat for a couple years now and
I haven't figured out how to use filters properly.

I use filters to move Incoming Mail into other directories, mostly
into the Trash in the case of pesky spam. But sometimes the filter
seems to fail and the email that should be shuttled into another
directory is put in the Inbox instead even though the filter has
worked on occassion. Is this common? Have I failed
to configure something correctly? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank-you in advance.

If a filter fails there are four possibilities.
1) You thought to enhance it and the enhancement was worse.
2) You created a new filter that intercepts the mail before the old
filter does.
3) The contents of the mail were slightly altered, so that the mail
doesn't match the filter anymore.
4) You've got a filter that triggers on the address book and you've
changed the address book.

When I started this mail, I thought to summarize two options, so it's
likely that there are more possibilities. ;-)

The best way to let us find the reason why a filter doesn't work, is
to post the filter and the mail you wanted to trigger it.

Double-message mystery solved!

2002-06-03 Thread Mark Wieder

Finally got the mystery of the double messages solved.

When I went to shut down the machines last night the server gave me a
warning about another user still being connected. At that point I
remembered that I had started up a Terminal Server session with the
server a while back and it was still running TB in the background. So
some strange combination of having TB running in a Terminal Server
session and running it normally caused the serger end of things to
think there were two of me. This morning without TS everything's fine.

There's probably a bug to write up here, but I sure don't know what it
is. I've used TB remotely over a Terminal Server connection before
without any problems. At any rate, I'm happy again and I think the
lesson I've learned is not to try to be in two places at once.

Similar subject, but different anti-virus software ...

I use Autoroute with TB so that I can send all emails at the same time
with any ISP login. Works very well.

I have Norton 2002 anti-virus and for each message sent, it checks it
leaving TB. It then checks it again as it leaves Autoroute.

Not a problem really, but if I could disable the checking of one of them
it would save a bit of time.

Question about this... do you actually have to click on a virus
