What happen with Certum ?

2003-03-09 Thread Claude Renaud
Hi all,

Yesterday I made a certificate request to Certum and since yesterday morning
I received no response. Do you know if it is normal ?
Does someone already notice such delay ?

Same here over the last week, I had tried twice and received nothing
but messages stating my certificate was about to, then had expired.

I don't know about Mac, but otherwise it's exactly the opposite:

If you open it and the macro starts, it's too late.
If you save it and you test it with your Anti-Virus Software,
you can do what seems appropriate.

I gave up waiting and got a new certificate from their web site
instead. At least that one is renewable through the site's Renew
facilities, unlike the certification provided for a self-generated
key.

The downside is that the pages you get thrown into after receiving
email notification that the key is ready to be installed are all in
Polish with Polish buttons to press. You have to guess what it says,
pick a button and hope! Not a pleasant experience.

Using PC-Cillin 2000 Pop 3 Scan with The Bat

Hello Bats,

Perhaps this is nothing new to those who allready used PC-Cillin 2000 Pop 3
Scan within The Bat, but for the others, here's how I was able to make it
work:

I have an
ADSL connection
Win 98SE
PC-Cillin
The Bat! 1.63 Beta/7

4 conditions who probably have nothing to do with it :-)

Let's say my settings in Account / Transfer (?1) were

Mailserver: POP3.Pro.Spamworld.be
User : JefkePefke

simply changing this into:

Mailserver: localhost
User : JefkePefke/POP3.Pro.Spamworld.be

was enough to enable POP 3 Scan automatically.

This does not mean The Bat would be able to automatically send a
template-message to the one who has sent you the message containing a virus,
but it sure helps your PC from getting infected.

Good Luck!

careful in the future.

The feature that really impresses me is the ability to move messages
after reading, I have set up a sub-folder under each main folder to
filter the read messages into, so much more organised now.
Particulary for the windows powerpro group, which can get really
swamped if you don't download every day!!

As a quick fix, I think you could check the combined send and receive

You have an idea here, but it is easier than you think:

Go into the shortcut editor and assign a shortcut to Send + Check

BTW, @TaskControl: The shortcut editor is under View and not under

If you have macros in your template that only add or adjust header
information, these will take up a line in, although they don't
really add text to the message body.

To prevent their using a line, put '%-' (without the quotation
marks) at the end of the macros.

Heh... fancy that... They have two menus with the same options, the
second one having an additional option. Although I can see why,
they're trying to build a tree to match the list of menus based on
what you get when you do certain things. I only looked under the
system tray pop-up... Didn't think to go any further as I'd have
assumed they'd be mapped to the same functions. Which would be a
logical assumption I guess... Send for all accounts should be the
same whether it from the system tray, or when you are reading a

Thanks! Got that fixed. Glad I'm doing all these templates as QTs so I
don't have to edit all the address book entries.

DC Thanks! That's gotten it! There's still alot I need to learn about

AM The possibilities are really amazing.

No kidding. Can't wait till they get those bugs out of the b7 so I can
move up to the beta versions.

DC My fault probably, I had some messed up templates that I'm
DC working on. And it came back to me rather funky as well, so it's
DC not you.

It was far more likely to have been the listserver than you. Unless
you managed to embed an extra return within the subject header. I
don't think that's actually possible.

You can drag-shrink the column widths to zero...

Okay, thanks! Actually I was hoping for a bit more edit-ability with
those titles. It would have been nice to rename them, for example, or
at least have the ability to delete/re-add/rearrange them in the
settings much like the inbox headers. If I just slide the column to
zero, I might find I need those headers later but forget that they are
there (out of sight, out of mind). But if that's the only option then
I'll be satisfied. ;-)

Searching For A Phrase

2003-03-09 Thread Chris Montgomery
Howdy,

I invoked the Find A Message (ctrl-f) function to search thru messages
in a folder and its subfolders. I wanted to search for a phrase, e.g.
business plan. When I executed this search in the Search For line
(without the quotes), it eventually found 550+ messages that matched.
What I found was that the hits were actually for either business or
plan, but not the phrase business plan. After referring to the Help,
I tried business plan (without the quotes) and got about 50 hits.
But searching thru the messages in the results pane showed that most
hits were still only for a single word, e.g. business.

How can I search for phrases and get hits only for that phrase?

TIA.

Have you tried businessplan, i.e. without the blanks?

No, I didn't before, but I just tried it and that didn't give me the
results I wanted. After trying a few more things, I found that searching
for the phrase business plan (without quotes) did, in fact, give me
the results I originally wanted. Interestingly, searching for business
plan (with quotes) also gives accurate results, i.e., business plan
in the message, with quotes around them. Guess it just wasn't obvious to
me the first time around that it was working. Thanks, Thomas.
