;)

It's not difficult to push it's support to the limits.

What has happened is that I've found it to be reliable and workable,
though quite limited in some respects. I've dealt with the limitations
in two ways; I either find a workaround, or I just plain live with the
limitation while enjoying the great benefits and flexibility while
using the protocol in the context of my situation.

For the moment, my IMAP server is on the machine I'm working with.
However, I can manage my mail from any machine on the network as if
the mail were always there, and I can manage my mail from work. I can
switch to any client and do the same. I really enjoy this and don't
mind missing sound notifications, having to do server side filtering
to avoid a lot of the manual filtering and having to tolerate some
other little glitches.

PS It's great having that sort of freedom of space. :-)

Without this, I doubt that I'd have considered and would be using IMAP
now.

High-light folder list

2004-03-22 Thread Gerard
Hi Bat Users,

I have just switched to XP or actually I am still switching :(

I noticed that when I select a msg in the msg list window the highlight in
the folder list window turns to a light grey. Actually so light grey that
I have a problem finding it.

Can this be changed? and if so were?

This is something TB can completely help you with. You can call
yourself what you want and use whatever addresses you need to use.
Just set up extra accounts as you need them.

Oh yes - the cut mark uses simple minus sign dashes, two of them,
followed by a space and a new line. Two underscores look okay but
don't work. Work? Any cut mark is used to automatically trim off
anything that appears after it when replying. That's why it's
needed. *Especially* when you use webmail, which inflicts its own
signatures on your message. The lack of a cutmark, whether you think
you need one or not, forces people to hand trim things you never
intended to send.

There is obviously a patch available

Or maybe I'm totally wrong and this should all be within the

PGP or GnuPG.

Go to the 'Options' menu and select S/MIME. Do you have MS CryptoAPI

MS CryptoAPI engines work differently. Since you're communicating with
an OE user, this may make a difference.

I didn't particularly consider myself a power user either.

Interestingly, what attracted me to TB! right away was what some will
not like and that's MicroEd, the default editor. I was seeking an
editor that would easily format *e-mail* and I say *e-mail* since
when writing email one has special formatting needs.

With further use of the program I quickly discovered templates,
something that any user of email will likely find useful. The Bat!
handles these unlike any other client I've used. So simply and so
effectively.

IOW's, things that were previously tedious will now be easy since you
can quite easily set things up in TB! to be automated, such as using
specific signatures or identities or format when writing to particular
individuals/groups etc.

I welcome you to the list and am sure that in time, you'll discover
that there are things that you never really thought possible that will
be useful to you and easily achieved with TB!.

Happy bat!ing ;)

Hi Allie,

thanks for your reply.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] - [Montag, 22. März 2004, 23:36:56]:

Go to the 'Options' menu and select S/MIME. Do you have MS CryptoAPI
enabled there? This is just a guess. I do know that the internal and
MS CryptoAPI engines work differently. Since you're communicating with
an OE user, this may make a difference.

As I've stated above, I've tried both the MS as well as the internal
implementation to no avail.

I don't have any specific suggestions since I haven't been using
S/MIME. I guess it's the same for many others here who like me, use
 PGP or GnuPG.

I use PGP as well. Just thought it would be nice to have both options.
To quote a guy from www.cacert.org: PGP is nice but nobody knows how
to use it. Maybe he has a point there. Its trust system does take a while
to understand.

Cheers,
Oliver
