The viruses (if there where any) that are left in that folder will still be isolated and even if Norton does not check the files in that directory it will _not_ allow a virus infected file to be executed. Not that constructive info from me, but I hope it helps some. Hello qe3ee, Is it possible to use a macro or some yet to discover function in The Bat (using 3.62.14) to handle threads in chatfolders and to remove those threads from the chatfolders whatchlist? What I'm accually after is a-best-before function when some threads hasn't been active for a while I would like them to dissappear automagicaly from the chatfolder. HTML files opening in IE
Hello friends, I have Netcaptor pro as my default browser. All html files I open on my computer open using netcaptor. But html files I open from the attachment pane in TB open in IE. No messages
Hello, I've had no messages of any description since 8.52 on Tuesday Dec 19th either on this list or TBBETA. I also posted a message about that time that didn't get through. Having checked the archives I see that there are no messages after that time on either list but TBOT (to which I don't subscribe) is flourishing. If the lists are down then fine and I'll wait, along with everyone else, for them to come back up. Unfortunately I can't get into either my TBUDL or TBBETA mailing list member options page as no combination of email address and password seem to work. I've asked for a password confirmation but, as nothing is arriving from thebat,dutaint.com here for me, I am a bit up the creek without a paddle because I can't get my password. TB! just works with your system settings. It would seem that your system is setup to open html files using IE. Things like search base and the format of the user name and passwoed. Shortcuts all messed up and how to do
Dear Bats Yikes. I just installed the Christmas Edition following an advertisting email from Ritlabs. No all my dozens of carefully crafted shortcuts are gone. Having gone carefully through messages on the list I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them back. I can get into the customize box, but what then Someone please run me through a sequence of events that will get (as a case example) a shortcut (say Shift-Control-1 to assign a predefined color group to a message). Alternatively how do I get back to where I was before. TB! and MS Exchange
Fellow battyfolk, I am thinking (again) of upgrading to the latest version. I note on the TB! web page that The Bat! connects to Microsoft Exchange Servers using native MAPI protocol to fetch or send the messages. You just have to install Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Exchange Client to supply the Exchange connectivity components which The Bat! will be using That would be very useful since I currently have to run Outlook to connect to the MS Exchange server at work. Has anyone made use of this functionality? Does it work well? How hard is it to get working? Problem with v.3.64.01 crashing
G'day TBUDL Members, I have just installed the latest Christmas Edition. The updated help file is a big improvement. Unfortunately however whenever I try to access my IMAP account at Fastmail The Bat! appears to complete all the downloading and then crashes with an Access violation error. The last time it was Access violation at address A10C74C0. Read of address A10C74C0. The problem occurs every time I try to access Fastmail but I'm not sure whether the error has an identical address each time. (I was too surprised the first couple of times to note down the details.) Access to POP accounts seems to be okay at this stage. Any one else seeing this? It seems like you have already found the This address book is associated with a LDAP server check box. The username and password are whatever credentials you need to log in to the server. On my server, none are needed. I can remember something like cn= was in there somewhere. That really depends on how your LDAP server is structured. I would contact your LDAP administrator and ask him or her what the proper search base is. For the most part, I find that it works well (better than Outlook's implementation). However, every once in a while, after adding a contact from the directory, The Bat! does something that something else doesn't like and goes into a infinite dialog box loop. Missing mailboxes
I am using version 3.51.10 and have used TB for a long, long time. Today, I used my notebook computer at work and had many folders in my main account (which actually isn't the one I am posting from). I just opened up TB and the only folders I now show in that account are Inbox, Outbox, sent mail and Trash. I am using TB! at work (and I regret having started it, but not because of IMAP/Exhange, but because of the terrible HTML support of TB). The connection to TB! is easy. Fun is, when I installed that over a year ago, I needed to have Outlook running to connect with TB! For some months now, it works without Outlook. As you've discovered, Bob, IMAP is still a work in progress in TB! I have so many issues with performance, implementation and stability that I rarely use the prog these days.
