TB 3.0.1 RC6: move to IMAP folder and copy to Common Folder
Hello Batmans! My task is: filtering IMAP inbox folder (by Address Group criteria of sender) and moving message in certain IMAP folder and copying that message into some Common Folder. The problem is that inspite of activating option in action's properties Mark copy As read, a message in IMAP folder becomes marked as Read, but copy in common folder becomes Unread. Hello Batmans! I'm wondering, does anybody uses IMAP ? My problem is that all incoming filtering works just after manually starting via menu item Refilter messages. IMAP account: backup and restore.
Hello Batmans! One of the weakest place of IMAP approach from my viewpoint is probability to lose remote message base. In fact we have no direct access to files of some host with IMAP server. Well... TB2 has a backup|restore tools... That CAN backup IMAP folder (in fact it's local folders FULLY synchronized with remote folders on IMAP server) so it can be good solution BUT... TB2 restores messages into the local cache NO MORE and don't post that restored messages in remote IMAP folders. Have i missed something, or it's documented feature :((( of TB2 ? I don't find this a problem since I drive all of my TB output through templates. It's a bit of a job to go through and make sure the right templates have the right new pgp options, but it's worth it. Especially we are feeling that charm, while trying to reply on PGP message, several PGP messages: pop up menu, passfrase, copy to clipboard, replying on PGP message, inserting from clipboard decrypted messages without quoting... And they are not a joke. Mon ami, I'm using 6.5.8 so what ? It doesn't change my opinion ! And You don't know of course, about multiply unsuitable things and bugs in realization of especially Russian part of PGP plug-in. Moreover Stefan and Co know about that situation long time enough (more than year). That's why I used the only exact word, that may be applied to "charmed" PGP plug-in: STUPIDEST. Stupidity list of PGP plug-in
Hello Batmans, I'd like to prefer the stupidity list for one small, separate and important part of The Bat ! (may be somebody from RIT will take it into account, while writing new plug-in) Just answer adding new fact about subject. 1. Doesn't support encrypting file attaches 2. It's not easy to place the decrypted attached file in certain folder 3. I KNOW a .doc file can contain a virus, and I DON'T run anything called Happy99.exe. Besides, it would be easy to just rename the virus. Hello Oliver and Batmans, Yes, PGP plug-in is very weak place of The Bat. May be 2.0 will make us happy in hat sense :) I wouldn't say it's a weak point... I've developed an app with the PGP SDK myself, and I must say that's a candidate for the worst-api-available-competition. So I'm hesitant to say it's a weak my congratulations :) point. Maybe they should think about dropping support for so many different versions. AFAIK, everyone can get an up-to-date PGP version on the net for nothing, so there aren't many reasons why one would stay with an old version for long. Just IMHO, of course. Well... Point... Or something else it doesn't change anything. Guys from RIT SHOULD think about supporting PGP more smart and carefully. U are completely right. Supporting different old versions PGP has no sense. But i guess Stefan don't think so... Hello Oliver and Batmans, I'm having trouble importing keys that are pasted into messages. When I select Specials | Import key, nothing happens. In fact, what I have to do is select Specials | Check digital signature. When it checks the signature, it also imports the key at that point. However, if the key is sent without a PGP signature then nothing happens when I try to import the public key and I'm stuck. I'm using version 6.5.3. Anyone else noted this problem? Yes, that's not very new to me. The automatisms in TB for PGP have never really worked for me... I was happy to notice that signature checking started working again at all two or three versions ago. X-mailer: breaking privacy ? (was: Help-Feedback-Bug reports)
Hello Marck and Batmans, There's always sense in sending i bug reports. I didn't get any answer on my messages, even from auto reply... The guys at RIT have a policy of only replying if a) it is the first report of a particular bug or b) they need more information about it. OTOH, you have a widget in place that is stripping the "mailer" x-header back and adding a "surprised" keyword. If this widget is interfering with the licence number that is added by the bug report template then they would ignore the message anyway (they might take the bug report under advisement and fix it, but they wouldn't let the "unlicensed" reporter know about it). As u know, of course, the license number includes in the body of bug reports message automatically. And about surprised... Yes, i'm registered user, but i consider some information in x- as my privacy. It's well known discussion about 'Does RIT break people's privacy by sending some info about registration in x-header'. So i think they DO. MOREVOVER, it doesn't break my license agreement with RIT. I didn't promise them to send that information in exchange on tech. support. Hello, I have just installed the 1.42 version yesterday, and noticed today that often, when I click on a message showing an attachment, the attachment icon immediately disappears, and there is no attachment visible in the message. Of course, the attachment is still in the attach folder, but I don't always know the name of the file to expect. Any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I'm tempted to switch back to the previous version, which was a lot more stable for me than this! How to autocolor certain Messages
Hello Batmans, I'm about Group Color features... What type of filter i should use to color specific messages (for example from Ali in The Bat ! list) ? The matter is that the filter, moving The Bat List messages from Inbox to The Bat! folder works at first... Well... So should i use "Read Messages" filter with Group Color Option after that for The Bat! folder ? In my case it doesn't work. [skipped], :-) etc like in GoldEd While there is no one-key macro implementation in TB you can get a very similar effect by using quick templates with short handles. e.g. "sk" could be the handle for the [skipped], quick template so, in real time, you type skCtrl+Space and your macro works. PGPkeys again (was: BUG: view original text..)
Hello Nick, TB! 1.38e PGP 6.5.2i PGPkeys runs from any dir od disk (i mean, that path is OK) Selecting menu Tools-PGP-Key Manager reports error "Unable to locate the PGPkeys application" And one more thing. When trying to use menu Tools-PGP-Preferences-Files it shows blank fields of placement of main PGPG files, but in the same time original PGPkeys, running from PGP directory shows (by the way different dialog than Preferences in The Bat!) correct files path. I guess that it's something wrong, but what exactly ?!
