Re[2]: Bayesit Plugin
Back when Bayesit was a addin filter that didn't come with the_bat I had it working fine, I trained it with thousands of spam messages. But I lost all that when I reformated recently. and I installed the latest greatest BAT and I noticed it came with Bayesit, I choose to let it install it and I've been training it, but I just don't work anymore, or never did for that mater. I guess I'm going to have to find something else, I don't know why they chose to bundle a plugin with TheBat that would take years of training just to get it to work. ~John Saturday, November 20, 2004, 7:13:03 AM, you wrote: G ON Friday, November 19, 2004, 11:46:17 PM, you wrote: NL But I now have a spambase of over 4000 NL messages to work off of. Bayesit Training (download)
Hello The_Bat! Users, I have uploaded my entire Bayesit directory, so that anyone can download it and have the pleasure of using one of the finest spam filters anywhere. You will not have to train it with so many emails, like before, just download and install Bayesit from here: http://klirik.narod.ru/usefuls/bayesiteng.htm ...then download these files http://legacy.sheltonbbs.com/~jmmorse/Bayesit/ and then unzip them to your Application Data directory, it will overwrite your Bayesit folder. Or you can unzip them to a temp folder and then move them to the Documents and Settings/Application Data folder manually. (you should already have the Bayesit folder there since you installed Bayesit, just overwrite it) For example mine is found at: C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Bayesit After downloading all 6 files, then double-click the one named BayesIt.part01.exe When you unzip these files it will replace your Bayesit folder in your Application Data Directory. Here are a list of all the files (with file sizes) you will need to download: BayesIt.part01.exe (1.4m) BayesIt.part02.rar (1.4m) BayesIt.part03.rar (1.4m) BayesIt.part04.rar (1.4m) BayesIt.part05.rar (1.4m) BayesIt.part06.rar (583k) Don't worry about training Bayesit with a bunch of messages, just go through the motions, because this will replace all the training anyway. I never get a false positive with this plugin, and only get a new piece of spam to my inbox only every few days. -- John Morse The_Bat! 2.02 CE RC2 Windows XP (2600) Panda Platinum - Virus Protection Bayesit 0.4gm Spam Plugin Current version is 2.02.3 CE | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

MailFrontier.Com Reply
I E-Mailed the Matador/Mailfrontier company earlier when I read the message about their software marking the_Bat! messages as spam, here is their reply: I'm sorry that this might be the case. Matador uses a proprietary algorithmic content filter to score e-mails on the spam scale. If The Bat produces e-mails that look a lot like what spammers send, then Matador will treat the e-mail as a spam. We do offer our users the ability to configure Matador to allow e-mails from certain people, companies and mailing lists; and hopefully people that subscribe to e-mails that might come from The Bat will add the appropriate settings to allow this valuable e-mail through. _ Jim Lubinsky jlubinsky -at- mailfrontier -dot- com _ Please leave original mail in place when replying. -Original Message- From: John Morse Sent: Monday, June 30, 2003 9:44 AM To: # PR Cc: # Biz; # Marketing; # Info Subject: The Bat! by Ritlabs I am very disappointed to learn that your software treats all mail from the Bat!
