KS Easy. Go to Sorting Office (under Account in the main

KS Strings:Location Presence

This is how I had it, but than some mail from list participants did
not get filtered to the bat folder, so I also added the string to
kludges, and recipients and ticked yes for each.

I checked the filter and I have it set for: sender yes, recipient yes,

PF The tool bars could be slimmer in all views - the icons are swimming in
PF them - as well as configurable and more functions available for the
PF toolbars.
A lot of icons here I could do without, but keep handy if I wish to
  add them later.
PF The main window could have more options for configuration of the panes.

PF On my machine, the column headings over the folder list pane, which I
PF have at full height on the left, are thicker than the column headings
PF over the message list, which I have on the top right. Not a big deal,
PF but it looks patched together.

PF There could be a choice of fonts used for the folders and messages
PF lists.
   Yuppers!

PF The Macros context menu needs to be reorganized, or another way found,
PF as some of the panels are gigantic now.

PF The menus could be re-organized to be more logical and intuitive. Why,
PF for example, are "Quick Templates" an Option and not a Tool, and the
PF check and send all function under Tools, instead of Account. The main
PF window menus would, IMO, be more logically ordered: Account, Folder,
PF Message, View, Tools, Options.

PF Lots of little changes could be made in both the menu bars and context
PF menus to improve usability. For example, move the Dial Up Monitor to
PF Tools from Options and make its menu choices - Show, Show Automatically,
PF Show Always, Hide.

PF That's off the top of my head. :)

One thing is the shortcuts and their various inconsistencies.

PF Yes.

Another is the missing documentation and "half" help file.
This is a real on going issue here, why not do a complete help
file put it on the RIT Lab server and save it as either a html
document, or adobe type document where you could down load it and
save it to read later, this way the program it self would not have to
be extremely large.
PF I don't think of adequate documentation as an interface issue.

I do now thank you, but I like the message screen full with just

C I find it tedious that the view folders message list doesn't initially

AM I'm trying to figure out what you mean by what you are saying but my
AM guess is that your text line lengths are erratic because you are
AM re-editing already wrapped text without the autoformat feature
AM switched on. In this case, you can reformat the offending block of
AM text by pressing Alt+L (left justify) when the cursor is anywhere
AM within text block.

AM NB// Alt+L will not work if the cursor is positioned in the text block
AM area with the mouse. You have to position it with the keyboard.

They are erratic even if I receive from other group members and do
nothing. I basically have everything checked under edit preferences. I
want to see everything left justify and looking proper no matter who's
letter I see.

I sure hope so!, as a newbie with this program, the help file is
almost as useless as star offices 5.1.

I noticed that less time is spent on the help files of most newnew
programs, and some are requiring that you go to their web sites.

OK people I found it under windows explorer... program files\the
bat\mail\pasjfest\attach, I noticed 3 other attachments there two that
I sent, and one I didn't even know I recieved, fix-cih (??) i know
there was a thread on this.
MY question now is that there is no folder called attach listed when
I'am in the bat, so how do I know when I recieved it, or can't I get
it to stay with the e-mail untill I save it some where?

Just to reinterate a bit my son sent his attachment, bat showed the
clip, but when I read the e-mail no attachment was present, it's like
it was stripped off or removed automaticly, I've been using this
program only for a week so maybe I'am missing some thing or have
settings set wrong.

Yes I do, I trippled check that, I don't seem to have problems with
html attachments, they show up nicely, with a second tab in the
e-mail, none of the others do that.

OK thanks, I didn't see anything in the help, maybe I overlooked it,

Re[2]: (No Subject)

1999-01-16 Thread Pasquale J. Festa Sr.

Hello Steve,

Thursday, November 18, 1999, 6:41:24 PM, you wrote:

SL Thursday, November 18, 1999, 2:08:06 PM, Ali wrote:
No, it is the point. People should learn to use the program, not the
 program to babysit the user.

So you consider it babysitting. H. Oh boy. :)

SL Yes, I do. When something breaks the internal logic of the UI just for
SL the whims of a few people then it is babysitting.

Uhm, you're the one on the side that wants to change things. The
burden of proof is at your feet, not mine.

What's this chicken and egg crap about? A point was brought up which
you thought was ridiculous enough to be rude and call it idiotic.
Prove why you say this instead of rationalize it like how I rationalize
mine, then expecting me to do more than you do to make your point.

SL Prove why the change should be made in the first place. That is why I
SL said you are on the side that wants to change things. Proof must be given
SL that a change benefits the majority of the users. That burden of proof is at
SL your feet, not mine.

From this paragraph, I can say Steve, that IMHO, you are simply being rude
and that's your fundamental problem. This discussion list doesn't need any
of it. It's downright disruptive and intimidates those who don't know you
 for who you are.

SL Operative letters "IMHO" which is "in my humble opinion". In your opinion
SL I'm being rude. In my opinion it is rude to think that one cannot speak one's
SL honest opinions to other adults. That they must, in some fashion, be coddled
SL and protected for the big bad words which, incidentally, in and of themselves,
SL do no harm. I'm not here to treat you like a child, Ali, or presume that you
SL would want such a thing. It is that presumption, that total arrogance that I
SL consider rude.

What makes it worse is your lack of insight into it because you find
being polite political BS. That's crap and you know it.

SL Hardly.

You just can't be bothered and we are perhaps not worth the effort of a
little of your politeness. I am saying all this so that others will know
that we don't subscribe to this sort of behavior.

SL I am being polite. I'm being polite in that I'm not going out of my way
SL to insult you by talking down to you, insulting your intelligence and
SL character.

But to spend so much time and effort to say the same thing in a
"polite" and "non-threatening" manner is just wasted time and
effort. Get a thicker skin or get out of the way.

Why be threatening in the first place?

SL Notice the quotes. That means I *AM* taking the non-threatening manner.
SL Just others are so used to being coddled they don't know the difference
SL between straighttalk and threatening.

I hope I do for if I ever got to the level where such small UI
issues were the only matters of contention it would mean the world
would have the most powerful and robust MUA around which, instead of
worrying about small UI issues first it would have IMAP done and out
the door, automatic LDAP updates, be lean, mean and well documented.
But, hey, you want to debate where %cursor goes instead of insist on
getting real work done, fine by me.

That sounds rude again Steve. I am not shaken by it in the least but I
 need to indicate your rudeness.

SL Rude? Maybe you're just not used to hearing the truth without all the BS
SL pleasantries. No, rude would be a lot worse.

Hey guys why don't you two take this private via phone or direct
e-mail, I'am getting tired seeing two guys whine over something that
should have been over long ago, and I'am sure I'am not alone.
