TF Blistering barnacles!, I'd say.

JSL I'm a geezer so my memory probably goes back a little farther than yours.
If
JSL you Google leapin' lizards comic you'll see that the expression
originated in
JSL the Little Orphan Annie comic strip.

We are (probably) venturing off-topic but I dare to reply: I never
heard of this comic before, quote interesting! I was at comic-reading
age when they stopped it, so my excuse is that it was probably never
translated into German. ;-)

JSL You're right of course. I never thought of something so obvious.
JSL Thank you Thomas. I appreciate your patience in replying. Alas,
JSL rebooting the machine showed no new messages in the outbox. Sigh.

Sorry to hear that. We had a sudden blackout in the office a few days
ago (some transformer went BANG! and the whole building was dark), and
I was glad I routinely hit save every now and then when I write long
emails or work on long Word or Excel files.

Auto-saved message?

2013-02-06 Thread Jack S. LaRosa
Salutations Bat Folk,

My wife's POS HP laptop locked up again for no apparent reason and we had to do
a forced shutdown (holding the power button depressed until the computer turns
itself off). I use the term locked up because we had no control of anything
except cursor movement. Keypad and mouse buttons were non-responsive.
Un-fortunately she was several paragraphs into an email when this happened and
so lost the entire draft.

I remember seeing a message sometimes when I've abandoned an email during
creation to the effect of The Bat! has saved a copy of this message. Do you
wish to delete the copy as well? I don't remember the exact wording but it's
something like that.

So, is it possible that TB! *DID* save what she had typed before the lockup and
if so, where might it be found and retrieved?
