You either have to ask them to bcc you but essentially you cannot enforce it
unless you stick executable code in your email... Obviously that will cause many
complaints and is illegal in most places... I would anyway estimate that likely
with the first mesg you send out the various antivirus programs will make alarm!

There is no reliable way to know this.

There are services allowing to include an image into the eMail located on
an web server. This image is eventually downloaded by the computer used
to display the message. Eventually it could be possible to demonstrate
that different computers are used to display the same message. But if the
recipient uses an decent email program (as TheBat) it will not download
external images and nobody will never know when and where the email was
displayed.

Yes, of course. I was missing the scrollbar thing. However, with Roelofs
message the problem should be sorted now, or is it?

A different way to get to the same preferences dialog would be to right
click in the header pane, browse to the menu "headers", then to the
entry "edit headers" at the bottom of the menu. In the list of headers
you can edit each header, and on the bottom of the "General" tab is the
checkbox "display this header in the scrollable part..." that Roelof
mentioned. Needless to say you have to un-check it. :-)

Well I used to have more before I reinstalled and restored my backup. I think
that it is probably related to the fact that I don't have the X-Rogue stuff
setup yet. I'll add that back and see if it makes a difference.

You answered to my former mail (forgive about this - I send it just

Thanks Marek for your answer. Are you sure it's a DLL from IE? I had
only a RTC connection and last time I tried to update it, it took too
much time. It couldn't be a DLL like riched32.dll which can be
downloaded without IE?

As Marek Mikus already said, you need the unicode layer for W9x from
Microsoft.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and search for "unicode", select
"Windows 95" (or 98 or ME) as platform. You'll get a single hit for the
search (its an executable, running it is probably enough to install it,

I hope this fixes the problem for you. Ritlabs should mention that in the

No bug. You have the option for each header for it either to expand
the header section permanently to display it, or add it to the end of
the headers and put in a scrollbar to keep the header section the same
size.

Go to Options|Preferences|Message Headers (in the tree view) Select
the header that is in the scrollable bit, and click on Edit. At the

here, it adds a fancy scrollbar
I think that's a bug, can you confirm?

like this:
don't add one of the existing headers for viewing, create one. I created one for
X-POPFile-Link
and when I tick it ON for viewing, then the header pane does not expand, it adds a
scrollbar. I can add a gazillion of those already existing, and yes it does grow then,
but not with the created Popfile-Link.

Hi Benjamin,

At the moment you already have the option of setting the Comments
header. As long as you use something that is not used by other fields in
the headers you can search for it using the "Kludges" option in the
filters.

I use this to do some intricate filtering between accounts and it works
fine.

I also use X-ray to remove the header on sending.
X-Ray can also be used to change the From and Reply headers if you need
that.

What I am saying is something I have said before, if we could integrate
the functionality of X-Ray into TB!, it would make an impressive team.

I think the idea is good. So if the header X-Spamscore exists, it will

I was just thinking how to program this, though. It is a non-standard

Taking the cue, I'd like to say that TB is built with visually
impaired (is this the current politically correct term? - I mean
"blind") people in focus. This is partly thanks to Dieter Hummel, the
German distributor of TB, who has brought this popular demand from the
German TB lists forward to the programmers during his visits to
Moldavia, and during meetings with them in Germany.

TB works excellently with Jaws, and apparently also with Blindows
(which I have never tried, as it requires additional hardware).

The message header font setting will also affect the header fields in
the editor window. With all those sorted out, you should be well on
your way.

If you wish to increase the system font, you should be able to do this
via the Display Properties/Settings/Advanced options. In this way, you
could globally increase your font sizes. Good luck.

roaming the font area. In case people aren't sure about
eyesight, this is for those whose arms aren't long enough to read a

Those are affected by the system settings and this system font size
you can't change without, I guess, hacking the registry. It's the same
font that the configuration dialogs use.

Go to Options/Preferences. Go to the System tab and in those settings

increase the fontsize of the message header display?

2002-06-02 Thread Charlie Laidlaw

How do i increase the font size for the message header display
windowpane?

Also how to do this in the folder selection pane, and on the grey
panelling 'from: reply-to: subject' both in the main window and here
on the 'create new message screen'?

I've gone to Options-Preferences-Viewer and cycled through the 'item'
menu, and changed all the fonts up to 12point, but i've seen no
changes as a result, after restarting the Bat. The changes i made are
still there.

The only part i have fixed is the Options-Editor Preferences-Display,
thankfully that did work as soon as i changed the font size.

i've got a 17" monitor, set to 1024x768 & small fonts, sitting a fair
distance away from me. I can't set it to Large Fonts, or i find that
several programs get stuffed (eg. in ACDsee Fotocanvas 1.1, the
'apply' button disappears on large font). I'd like to leave the
monitor where it is and at 1024x768, for better websurfing.

Not that I'm aware of. You can customize it to your own wants and

Message header in preview pane

2001-08-01 Thread junk

Hi,
Is there a way to customize the message header (not the RFC-822
header) displayed at the top of the preview pane for different
folders; that is, make it unique for say the Inbox and Sent folders?
I'd like to display who the message came from in the Inbox folder and
who the message was sent to in the Sent folder without having to
display both the To: and From: headers in both preview panes. This
isn't a big deal, it'd just be a nice cosmetic feature.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Not in all cases, AFAIK. Someone can install a so-called local SMTP
proxy which is capable to strip specific headers from the outgoing
messages.

2001-01-10 Thread Britta

Hi,

am I correct in believing that if no "Mailer" (or X-Mailer) info is
available for received messages, that this is due to the originating
mail server setup? I've been through the List Archive, and this is the
closest I have come to figuring out why some of my email will not
yield this information.

Have you tried threading by references and sorting by date? It
doesn't work if your contacts use e-mail clients that don't support
the References or In-Reply-To headers.

Other than that, I don't know any way to do what you suggest.

Order of messages in "message header" pane -- v1.44

2000-07-09 Thread net5zero

Is there a way to get the message headers to be in decending date order by
thread AND within the thread, the messages by ascending date order?

e.g. I have 3 threads -- AA (7/9/2000) BB (7/7/2000) and CC (7/1/2000).
Within each thread, there are messages dated form 7/1/2000 to 7/9/2000.
Can I get the thread to display in the order of AA, BB and CC. And within
each thread, the messages will appear in the order of 7/1, 7/2, ... 7/9 ???

Pick any folder for which you have chosen the "use default column
settings" option and then configure the columns the way you want them
to be 'by default.' ('Right-Click' on the column headings to bring up
the config. dialog box.)

You should now find that all the other folders for which you have also
ticked the 'use default column settings' option will now have the same
config. as the folder you just altered.

Hope this was what you wanted.

Cheers,

I think the answer is yes to both questions.

There are two workarounds that I've seen discussed on this list,
One person (Sorry, I don't remember who) is using NoteTab to compose
their messages including headers. They then import these messages
into their outbox and send them.
Another option is to set up a Perl type script to add the appropriate
lines to your message. You would call this script using an outgoing
 filter.

Unfortunately, I've exhausted my knowledge of these solutions. But
hopefully this will give you some ideas.

Just as a matter of personal preference, I don't much care for links
in the message headers. Personally, I don't usually look in the
headers unless I have a very specific reason. So in my opinion, it is
better to add the link in your signature. But, that's me, so feel
 free to disagree.

2000-04-15 Thread Chuck Smith

Is is possible to write tot message header? I noticed this evening on
the PGP-users list that one of the users in including a link in the
message header to his PGP public key like this:

X-PGP: RSA Public Key:
<http://pgp5.ai.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x24DF806B>
X-PGP: DH/DSS Public Key:
<http://pgp5.ai.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xE30D335A>
Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 4.3.1

Is this an Eudora feature or is this possible by filtering out going
messages?

At first there was nothing. Then God said 'Let there be light!' Then
there was still nothing. But you could see it.

Re: The Bat! - bug report - changes in message header are not considered to be "changes", and hence are not autosaved

Hello Andrew,

And even worse -- there is no way to save these changes even manually.
Only thing you can do -- change something in message body and then
save the message.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
Create a new message, edit headers and then press "Save the message"
button. Nothing happens. But if you will press "Save draft" button,
message will be saved.

Any comments?
