Hello Blarp, B There have been at least 4 reports of this problem on 1.61 that I've B seen (including mine). Ok, this may be of interest to you and others: Earlier today I uninstalled The Bat, but I said no to the question of whether to remove the message base or not. After reinstalling the program I restored a backup of all accounts that I'd just done. This didn't make the periodical checking work. Just now I uninstalled the program and answered yes to all questions of removal - that is both from the registry and the mail directory. After this I made sure no files were left in the mail directory and the program directory. Then I installed the program again and restored my backup. Now the periodical checking works. Would be good if somebody with the same problem could confirm if this procedure works there too. -- Regards Johnny Skaaning The Bat 1.61 - Windows 2000 Current version is 1.61 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Periodical checking stops working
Hello Marck, JS :) Perhaps I'll submit a bug report then. MDP Not yet. MDP Blarp doesn't mention the thing that causes this 9/10 times. MDP See message [EMAIL PROTECTED]">mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] for more MDP information (The Bat/ZoneAlarm quirks) if you are a ZA user. Thanks. As I mentioned in another post I managed to overcome the problem by uninstalling all parts of the program including the message base. However, I have to mention that I've used TB! since version 1.46 as far as I remember. The problem with the (lack of) periodical checking have periodically surfaced using firewalls Atguard, Zone Alarm, Tiny Personal Firewall as well as no firewall at all. Unfortunately I have kept no record of whether this was the case with all versions of TB! or not. I can say I am quite familiar with the problem. It was usually solved either on the next reinstallation of the operating system or of the program. -- Regards Johnny Skaaning The Bat 1.61 - Windows 2000 Current version is 1.61 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Periodical checking stops working
Hello all, Using The Bat on Windows 2000 Pro, at some point after installation (it varies a lot - sometimes days sometimes weeks) the periodical checking that I use to check 4 mail accounts with stops working. I generally have The Bat check for mail every 4 minutes, now I have to do it manually. Has anybody come across a similar phaenomenon ? I can't connect it to any particular change that I may have made to the system such as an installation of another program, but it may be connected of course. I've tried removing and reinstalling The bat which usually helped, but not today, so suggestions are appreciated.
