Any ideas? Maybe I just need to wait for a later Bat version?

There are a few like that. The fault is that the final layer of
animation persists and is not cleared before the first layer of the
loop is re-displayed. This is what's going wrong, but I'm not sure
why. It may be a fault in the component used to display animated
GIFs. I could repost this in TBBETA but this also applies to the
released version and I know that 9val reads here too ;-) .

Please excuse the full quote. I am replying to your answer for the

been a query on that list regarding these, also. :) That came in this

I put the mid just in case anyone who's subscribed both places would

Why don't you try your hand at fixing these two. Usual cause is one or
more frames are smaller than the largest frame and TheBat seems to
reserve space for the smallest (first?). I've fixed a couple and sent
them on to Leif.

Alan or Mary contact me via PM if you need help fixing them.

These are actual problems with, well, I guess technically it could be
with the way TB renders .GIFs. The problem is that these funky .GIFs
have a different sized first frame (think a movie), and TB sets the
area of the image based on the first frame.

It may be right, it may be wrong (I'm not familiar with the RFC
pertaining to valid .GIF images, but one or the other is wrong.

Plan9 has been gracious enough to fix the errant ones we've been
coming across, maybe he'd help again. :notworthy:

Not really. This is a user list and the smileys can be cleaned up buy
users to work with the current code. Leif and 9val don't need to do
anything about cleaning up smileys.

Unless in his spare time 9val wants to code a gif viewer that takes
all variations into consideration and displays them as the creator
wanted, but didn't. :-D :-D

I have fixed them (using Jasc Animation Shop). It seems that by saving
them with optimisation towards a bigger filesize did the trick.

Thanks for the suggestion that I try fixing them myself :-)
