And something more trivial, Sioux Falls is in South Dakota, and the airport name is in fact "Joe Foss Field". The airport you're thinking of is "Sioux Gateway Airport", which is located in Sioux City in Iowa ;) http://www.norfolkairport.com/flight_three_letter_domestic.html :) -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Are you sure you have a "display name" selected for all your entries? I think I remember having that problem once when I entered in an address but didn't have a display name in the address book for that entry. I think the auto-complete keys off of the display name for doing the auto-complete so check that let me know if that helped. I haven't run into TB not recognizing an e-mail address for auto-complete in a long time. Another pet peeve (and maybe there is a way now that I haven't found about) is you should be able to enter multiple e-mail address for a user and then by doing ctrl-+ on an auto-complete for that recipient it would cycle through these addresses. It's really silly that I have to create an entire new entry for a user just so that I can have an another e-mail address available. -- Rick mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi Rick, RR> The Bat's auto-complete works great for me and does what I expect RR>as far as completion goes (actually much better IMO than RR>OE since the bat shows the full e-mail address and not just the RR>name- I hate how OE does that). Well my gripe with it is that even if the name is in the address book, TB frequently won't find it. For example: Joe Blow <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> If I start typing Joe... it should be able to find Joe Blow. But it doesn't always. It will however find the address as I start typing "ball...". Maybe I'm doing something wrong but Outlook Express is ALWAYS able to find the address from the name. And, it gives you a selector list if there are multiple choices. But I also agree that the single line address entry box sux. -- Tom G. http://blarp.com <-- Free tech support The Bat 1.61 - Windows 2000 Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I agree that the addresses input and auto-complete handling is probably the worst design example we can found in TB, and it should be fixed as soon as posible, but I don't think we'll see it in a bugfix, and if we're lucky we'll have to wait until v2, because I guess it must be a difficult problem to fix. -- Ricardo M. The Bat's auto-complete works great for me and does what I expect as far as completion goes (actually much better IMO than OE since the bat shows the full e-mail address and not just the name- I hate how OE does that). It's just that the e-mails really need to wrap onto a new line so you can quickly see what you've entered and what you are entering. I know some on this list have more inside information on what is slated for future versions, so I'm curious if this issue will be addressed (no pun intended with the 'address' usage:) -- Rick mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Someone in tight with the developers PLEASE let them know...
My biggest pet peeve with the Bat and it drives me crazy (I know this has been brought up before)... I start an e-mail and begin thinking about who I want to send the e-mail to and can quickly add people by starting there name and then pressing ctrl-+ to auto-complete the name. The problem is this only works for about 3 addresses then I can't see how the auto-complete is working! I can press "end" to see what was last entered to go to the end of the line but then lose the ability to use the autocomplete/ctrl-+ combo until I start a new address (and often have to go back and delete the one I have). It's just a real mess and end up having to use the little address book, which is WAY slower when you have a huge list of addresses and all I need to do is send an e-mail out to five or six people. I haven't subscribed to the beta list but if someone has better connections with some of the developers at ritlabs please let them know that I really hope this addressed in a future release. Ideally I would like to see the addresses as they are added drop to a new line so that you can see which ones at a glance that you've already added (without having to use the address book display menu). This could be accomplished by just having the addresses start on new line. If that can't be done at least when no addresses are added the focus is brought to the end of the current line so that you can see what you are trying to auto-complete. The Bat is the best, but every day this becomes a real nuisance several times while at work. Am I the only one frustrated by this? Maybe others quickly send out e-mails in a better fashion? To me it's just so easy to start typing the address and then have them auto-complete and use ctrl-+ when you have several options. I'd love if this procedure was made more convenient for adding more than three or four people to an address field line. -- Rick mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
