Tiddlers have a human readable unique ID. .. The *title *field. ...

There's no need to create a human un-friendly ID.

2019-07-01 Thread PMario
Hi Mat,

Nice work. ... Seems to be similar to my uni-link plugin [1]. ...

One main problem, for me, with aliases was, that I also want to have the
"alias-backlink" info in the info panel.
There is a short video [2], which shows all the functions. uni-link plugin
also implements some filter operators, that help with alias handling.

- is[alias], all[aliases], [aliasbacklinks[]],
[[?]aliasbacklinks[]sort[title]]

have fun!

[tw5] Re: Query -- Are we neglecting "Restore" from default "Download Saves"?

2019-07-01 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
The attached is just to indicate that some progress is being made. The zip
file has the PS file, the support library file, and the ini file. There's
lots of stuff that needs to be tweaked, especially capturing the error
messages -- maybe tomorrow? There's an S option on the menu that I used for
testing that I need to take out. Probably the library needs to have the
path to it specified.

I only tested it lightly, with one file /location. So, as usually, be sure
to have backups.

Along the lines of "Bob", I was thinking maybe "Polly", like the parrot
that repeats itself, which is what the script really does.

So eventually, if we settle on "polly", for example, there might be 5 or
more files

polly.txt (for usage)
polly-vsn-initials.ps1 (the script)
polly.ini (the settings)
polly.bat (to launch with proper privileges)
Get-IniContent.ps1 (library for parsing ini file)

I say "or more" because it sounds like there are ideas out there for more
advanced features that may also require libraries.

Thanks!

Great job Mat!
Mario has also an alias plugin!

My suggestion is: as previously discussed here by others, it would be great
if the core can implement tiddlers to have unique ID to be addressed with
many names!

Mario,
That's correct! The problem is one may have several slideshow in the same
wiki and each use their own themes!
So, what I tried and not successful yet, is how can I have different theme
for different slideshow at the same time!
One solution based on your suggestion may be to switch theme when click on
the slideshow dashboard and set it for presentation
but then if I use TW theme it will apply it to the whole tiddlers.

Awesome work, thank you. Aliasing is an important part of my wiki, but I
can't say I undersatnd the issues well enough. Does your tool differ in a
crucial respect from https://mklauber.github.io/tw5-plugins/#Aliases ? I am
also on the hunt for aliasing which works with search, and which is
lightweight enough to not freeze out linked-to referencing from tiddler
info.

Ed,

Perhaps an alternate strategy is to just copy the code ICKToz7BLLA the
generate a link or two
In this case you could use [addprefix]

But you can also take the link and
[{!!url}removeprefixaddprefix];

Currently both of missing tiddlers fo and foo show the template in

[tw5] How to "find and replace" when calling a field in a template?

2019-07-01 Thread Ed
Sorry for the poorly worded title. Hopefully my use case will make it clear
what I am asking.

I want to quickly add YouTube videos to my wiki by copying a link into a
text box.

I have a textbox/button that creates a tiddler and adds the text entered to
a url field:

<$edit-text tiddler="$:/state/new-video-link" tag="input" default=""/>
<$button>
<$action-createtiddler $basetitle=
text="" url=/>
Add

The resulting tiddler calls a template (named "YoutubeTemplate") that will
display the video from the URL:

The problem is that I need to use the 'embed' version of the URL.

For example "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICKToz7BLLA; needs to become
"https://www.youtube.com/embed/ICKToz7BLLA;.

Is there a method to 'find and replace' "watch?v=" with "embed/" when
calling in my template?

I often clone or copy and paste code from existing iframe tiddlers to edit
the target source for new iframe tiddlers, and I have noticed if the

[tw5] Re: Transclusion into variable or something similar?

2019-07-01 Thread TonyM
Stephen,

Welcome back, if you can share your ultimate result that would be great. I
have tried something similar a number of times but have found it very
fragile. My suspicion is the best way maybe to have a template tiddler not
unlike all the savers and exporters use that defines the mailto link with
the content from the current tiddler. I hoped to have any tiddler with an
email address have a send mail button that allowed it to automatically
compose the email and open the default mail program. Ideally there would be
a mechanism to "attach" other tiddlers as files, such as a json tiddler or
image.

I am prepared to put sometime into collaboration on this because I also
need this for a client solution.

Regards
Tony

Re: [tw5] Re: Installing TW5Bob.exe nightmare

2019-07-01 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
It might help to show your configuration file (either settings.json or
copy/paste from the Bob server tab).

You're not alone -- I had to struggle to get Bob to serve up my existing
Wikis. The configuration file is frustrating, because you will make a
change, and when you reload, it shows you an empty configuration file
(which may eventually populate, but I don't know why/when). But maybe
there's just something weird about my configuration.,

Good luck

But, before that I wanted to comment that the aim in *this *is very
pertinent.

In a quick, perhaps over-simple way, I'd say YOUR approach is about making
the user experiece as easy as possibe? Mine definitely isn't (as yet).

IF what you layout in principle I can see in a working system I might give
up what I am doing. But I grasp you are busy and maybe can't get to a
working system at the moment.

Yet it could be very interseting if you did.

If you're worried about too many iterations, then maybe you'll have to make

Mat,
Note that we may have few parent like 20 ~ 50 parent tiddlers
but hundreds of child tiddlers (if any parent has 25 child tiddlers then
we may have 1250 ). In my solution dynamic stylesheet will produce 25 line
if each theme has 30 line then the stylesheet will grow up to 750 line!
too many!

One point I like to understand is, if I have 20 parent each have 10 child

not? I doubt a user have all 200 tiddlers opened on the screen!

2019-07-01 Thread Mohammad
Based on the discussion here, I have created a test case at:
http://dynastyle.tiddlyspot.com/

The test case is as described below. I appreciate to give me your feedback.
I gonna to use it in Tiddlyshow to have different style for different
slideshow! Right now the whole wiki has to use one theme at a time.

How is it possible to conditionally and dynamically apply CSS to a tiddler?
Assume you have a child tiddler and you want to style it based on a theme
filed value from parent. The mechanism is as described below

 1. Generate a dynamic Stylesheet (a tiddler tagged with
 $:/tags/Stylesheet)
 - The stylesheet is generated from some tiddlers containing
 conditional css
 - There are several css tiddlers are populated conditionally
 2. A test example uses the dynamic stylesheet as below
 - The example has several tiddlers tagged with slideshow
 - The slideshow tiddler has a field called *theme*!
 - Each slideshow tiddler has several child tiddlers (those tagged
with *slide* + slideshow tiddler as *parent*)
 - The dynamic stylesheet applies conditionally css rules to child
slides based on the theme field value. Here a theme is to style a tiddler
 with colored border.

You should add addendums etc as new posts. The point was just that if you
edit an already posted post, then this edit will not be reflected for those
who prefer to read the forum via email.

With that said, *occasionally* it does make sense to edit the very initial
post so that *new* readers of the thread (on the board) avoid possible
misunderstandings that were revealed later in the thread.

With V5.1.20 ... new tag-index handling ... this should be improved. ...

Just to be sure, we are not talking about 10 tiddlers. We are talking about
several 100. ... But anyway. Users tend to bend the borders ;)

[tw5] Re: Dynamic and Conditional Stylesheet

2019-07-01 Thread Mat
IMO this is basically how native TW should create (aggregate) stylesheets,
i.e from multiple tiddlers that individually define specific style defs.
One stylesheet for "the tiddler", another for "the sidebar" - or maybe
these are also aggreagtions of smaller/more specific ones (...the tiddler
control buttons, the sidebar segments etc).

Caution: CSS is "last called wins" so you should probably control the order
in the list filter. If you use "[tag[foo]]" then one idea could be to check
if foo has a list field, i.e since foo is a tag you can access it's
children with <> and easily manipulate the order in its list
field.

[tw5] Transclusion into variable or something similar?

2019-07-01 Thread Stephan Hradek
Hi!

After quite some time I'm back to using TiddlyWiki (hopefully) a bit more
regularly.

Seems my kowledge has rusted over the last 2 years. I cannot figure out how
to get solved what I want to achieve.

The idea is the following: I have to create some customer information and
in that process I have to send mails.

So while I document what I do I also want to enter the customer's data into
my TW. The idea I have is that TW will already prepare the mail for me.

This works but I have to copy & paste the mail. Much easier would be to
click on a prepared mailt-link which will invoke my mail program, prefilled
with all the data.

Here is an example as to how far I came:

Tiddler "data"

name:recipient
text:the text to send

Tddler "MailText"

Hi<>!

Thisisyour text:<>.

Regards

Tiddler PreparedMail

<$set name="the_recipient" tiddler="data" index="name">
<$set name="the_text" tiddler="data" index="text">

MailText

In order to be able to create a mailto-link, I will have to apply encodeuri
to the mailtext:

<$set name="the_recipient" tiddler="data" index="name">
<$set name="the_text" tiddler="data" index="text">

<$list filter="[[MailText]get[text]encodeuri[]]">

<>

Unfortunately encodeuri does not receive the "Transclusionresult" but the
plain MailText and so the output of the las example will be:

Hi%20%3C%3Cthe_recipient%3E%3E!%0A%0AThis%20is%20your%20text:%20%3C%3Cthe_text%3E%3E.%0A%0ARegards

And not the required

Hi%20recipien!%0A%0AThis%20is%20your%20text:%20the%20text%20to%20send.%0A%0ARegards

Is there any way I can solve this? Can I, for exampl, get the fully
transcluded text into a variable so that I can create a mailto-link?

Many tia…

Re: [tw5] Re: my backstage gone after downloading/installing plugins

2019-07-01 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Just to add that it's not enough to delete and re-install TiddlyDesktop. One
also needs to delete the application data folder. The location of the folder
depends on your operating system, though. On Macs it's in ~/Library/Application
Support/TiddlyDesktop, and I believe it's
C:\Users[YOUR_USER_NAME]\AppData\Local\TiddlyWiki on Windows.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

[tw5] Re: Dynamic and Conditional Stylesheet

2019-07-01 Thread TonyM
Mohammad,

In a similar way to Dynamic and Conditional Stylesheets I recently made
some buttons that use css to reveal content.

See here
https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!searchin/tiddlywikidev/button%7Csort:date/tiddlywikidev/0wOyn6oSJWY/C4oLQ-scCAAJ

The point is however, I used a list filter to determine if some css was
active. Even although the css is invisible to the user

<$list filter="[] -false" variable=nul>
<$button tooltip="Toggle field $buttonname$ to false">
<$action-setfield $field=<> $value="false"/>
<>

#$buttonname$-true { display: block; }
#$buttonname$-false { display: none; }

So this is also conditional css

<>
I am on true

Regards

TRony

Including additional rules, that are wikified is difficult. .. You need to
be sure, that it doesn't accidentally wikify CSS code. Since the browser

uups I was wrong. It needs to be like this:

<$list filter="[tag[exmp64]]">

And the tiddler that contains the CSS code needs the pragma. ... Have a

\rules only filteredtranscludeinline transcludeinline macrodef
macrocallinline macrocallblock prettylink

/*

The above is valid CSS and the prettylink will be active.

[tw5] Dynamic and Conditional Stylesheet

2019-07-01 Thread Mohammad
This may be useful!

Dynamic and Conditional Stylesheets

How create CSS dynamically in Tiddlywiki?Use TW scrippting elements to
generate a stylesheet dynamically!
Example

Assume you have some tiddlers contains CSS but NOT tagged with
$:/tags/Stylesheet. It is also possible to add more tiddlers (for example
those added by users), you can create a stylesheet by dynamic populating
CSS from those tiddlers.

As an example, we have three diffent tiddlers each have some CSS and tagged
with exmp64 , to create a dynamic stylesheet create a tiddler as below

 - title: what you want
 - tag: $:/tags/Stylesheet
 - text:

<$list filter="[tag[exmp64]]">
<$transclude/>

Will be available in TW-Scripts
