[tw5] Keyboard widget

2021-01-23 Thread clutterstack

Hi all,

I have, in some of my macros, three nested keyboard widgets to listen for
three different key combinations. I'm just wondering whether this is the
best way to accomplish that. I don't think I want to assign keyboard
shortcuts for the whole wiki, because I may want different actions for the
same key or key combination, based on the event target.

Am I missing something?

Best,
Chris

[tw5] Re: White background behind tiddles.

2021-01-23 Thread Álvaro
With this information i am also lost.

I don't know how you started to create this dark palette. But you can start
cloning a dark palette like *Twilight*, maybe you can avoid some color
changes. Do you know how to clone one?

Hi again,
 It seems the issue is with Tiddlywiki itself and not the Notebook theme.
The tag pill has a poor css design.

Re: [tw5] Sorting records in a dynamic table - need syntax help

2021-01-23 Thread Mohammad Rahmani
Note, the table is created from a filter. It i s the main input parameter.
It makes the rows. After creating the table, you can click on the sort
(field) column you made to sort the table based on that field.
By the way, dynamic tables have the feature to sort by each column (field),
so it does not make sense to use the sort filter operator with input filter.

Hope this helps

Best wishes
Mohammad

 It looks to me as if that light background corresponds to

 In-browser developer tools are invaluable in figuring out which element

Page-background under the palette tiddler simply changes the background of
the side bar, and the tiddler. The white space does not change no matter
what, unless I manually adjust that tc.story-river variable that I

Hi Mark,

Sorry for not checking back here. Did you figure out your problem? I think
I'm missing some information on what you did to change the colour. If you
changed the colour for *page-background* in the palette tiddler, I'd have
thought that would do the trick.

If you by any chance are changing css rules within developer tools in your
browser, that will definitely get undone on reload. It's great for figuring
out what's happening in the browser, testing rules, etc. Then you go back
to your source file(s) and change what you want changed; in this case a
palette tiddler in the tiddlywiki.

Re: [tw5] Sorting records in a dynamic table - need syntax help

2021-01-23 Thread 'JWHoneycutt' via TiddlyWiki
My (inelegant) work around is to copy each tiddler and retitle the copy
with a numeric name, in order.

My code sorts by title, and I just need to remember that when I edit
fields, I need to copy the fieldValue back to the original.

 I need a little more help making a dynamic table sort correctly.

 I created a numeric "sort" field. Entries are (in order) 01, 021, 022,
 03, 071, 101, 102, 11, etc.

 My current best guess still does not work:
 ```
 <>>> fields:"tbl-expand title lot name corp_name corp_number email phone"
 caption:"''Ayacucho Lot Owners''" class:"w-100 table-hover-cyan
 table-center thead-dark" footerRows:"0"
 stateTiddler:"$:/keepstate/dynamictables/$(sort)$" editButton:"yes">>
 ```

 I first assumed I could just make my filter:
 "[tag[Ayacucho]tag[Owner]tag[Person]sort[sort]]" and leave
 stateTiddler:"" (blank), but it does not sort by the "sort" field.

 Next try is filter:"[tag[Ayacucho]tag[Owner]tag[Person]" and
 stateTiddler:"sort", still fails.
 How do I get the table to sort by the "sort" field?

 (The sort order can be permanent.) - Do I insert this lingo here?
 $:/keepstate/dynamictables/$(currentTable)$

[tw5] Re: [ANN] Projectify 0.12.0 is out!

2021-01-23 Thread Maarten
hi Nico,

is it an option to change the position of the complete button? On the todo
tiddlers is on the place of the close button of all the other tiddlers. So
sometimes when I want to close a couple of tiddlers I complete a todo by
mistake. I would help if the complete button has another position. Or can I
change it by myself?

cheers,

Maarten

and I just discovered that you solved it in version 0.12..0 with adding the
Subproject tag. My subprojects weren't converted but I've done it manually
now. Thanks, just what I needed!

hi Nico,

I've solved it by adding !tag[todo] in the
$:/plugins/nico/projectify/ui/dashboard/ProjectList tiddler. This shows
only the top level projects

Only one dynamic sort in the wiki, so I am ignoring the stateTiddler

Thanks for the help.

Re: [tw5] Sorting records in a dynamic table - need syntax help

2021-01-23 Thread Mohammad Rahmani
Hi JWHoneycutt

As Mark recommended, you need to use nsort. Table has an input parameter
called sortOp. The state tiddler can be anything, no need to use a
complicated title. The state tiddler is used for two reasons: It keeps the
state between two sessions, it keeps the footer results. So, if you
don't use footers for further calculations, and if you don't need the
sorting state or expand state you can even ignore the state tiddler.

I should mention if you use several dynamic tables in a single tiddler,
again state tiddler is used to keep them separate (e.g sorting state

Best wishes
Mohammad

Thanks for replying! It does have the correct shebang, and runs fine from

in a url line without converting to to %20 , which the OS wouldn't

[tw5] Sorting records in a dynamic table - need syntax help

2021-01-23 Thread 'JWHoneycutt' via TiddlyWiki

I love Mohammad's solution for dynamic-tables, (Shiraz plugin version
2.1.2) but...

I need a little more help making a dynamic table sort correctly.

I created a numeric "sort" field. Entries are (in order) 01, 021, 022, 03,
071, 101, 102, 11, etc.

My current best guess still does not work:
```
<>
```

I first assumed I could just make my filter:
"[tag[Ayacucho]tag[Owner]tag[Person]sort[sort]]" and leave stateTiddler:""
(blank), but it does not sort by the "sort" field.

Next try is filter:"[tag[Ayacucho]tag[Owner]tag[Person]" and stateTiddler:
"sort", still fails.
How do I get the table to sort by the "sort" field?

(The sort order can be permanent.) - Do I insert this lingo here?
$:/keepstate/dynamictables/$(currentTable)$

[tw5] Re: How to launch batch scripts from TiddlyDesktop in linux?

2021-01-23 Thread jwd
What you may be looking for is the correct "Shebang
" line at the top of the
script that determines the interpreter to use (assuming the executable bit
has been set.)

Typically I would use something like
#!/usr/bin/env bash
or, if you want to be specific
#!/path/to/your/systems/bash

The former will use the bash executable found first in the PATH of the
environment of the TiddlyDesktop process; the latter would be preferred
unless the script might run on systems where the path to the interpreter my
differ, e.g., Macs have an old version of bash by default; while different

* "fields:except" should be "fields:exclude" in the above tiddler.

If you want a button to add all fields as edge types in one go, you could
try something like this:

<$button>
<$list filter="[is[tiddler]!is[system]fields:exclude[title text modified
created]]">
<$action-createtiddler $basetitle={{{
[[$:/plugins/felixhayashi/tiddlymap/graph/edgeTypes/tw-list:]addsuffix]

}}}/>

Add all fields as edge types.

You could add other columns for editing the style, label etc.

[tw5] Re: Modify TiddlyWiki to leave added code in html file

2021-01-23 Thread Finn Lancaster
@TW Tones, the method I employed is actually quite simple, it's powered by
a repository in my Github, using Github pages. I figured that this meant it
had to call the index.html (the html file holding tiddlyWiki) file to
display my tiddlyWiki. However, I took this a few steps further by making
it sync back to that same github index.html file. Basically, this means
that it places a call through the Github API, which is modified every time
the users save it. Lastly, my most buggy area, (which you have seen) is
making it work cross-platform. I happened to stumble upon the localStorage
value for the Github PAT while digging through the console values to figure
out a simple error, and realized that I could just add a
localStorage.setItem call to add the value to any computer that opens the
page, meaning they have the same functionality as me. Of course, this means
that the application is not so secure, as anyone can grab the Github PAT
from the console with one line of javascript, but I have a few methods in
place to prevent/protect myself in the case that this happens.

 If you have a tiddler containing the information you want choose the
 appropriate tag and tag the tiddler, and it will be saved into the
 specific
 location such as in the head element. Each system tag explains where it
 will be stored.

 I am not sure if the script will fire as you expect, but its worth a
 try.

 As a newby, from an experienced user (not Plugin developer yet), in
 plain English as I understand it, TiddlyWikis automatic links and magic
 comes from the fact that it has its own framework. Plugin Javascript needs
 to comply with various standards to maintain the magic in tiddlywiki.
 TiddlyWiki is also structured in a way people cant inject Javascript with
 out the ability to save and reload the wiki which is an essential security
 feature.

 Also;

 There is a local storage plugin and also password widget in tiddlywiki.
 I recommend always checking if tiddlywiki has already provided a
 mechaisium
 for what ever you want to do before going off on your own, many things
 have
 being already included such that javascript is unnecessary.

Re: [tw5] Re: Streams, TiddlyMap, and twsr?

2021-01-23 Thread si
Hi Amy,

Three things I can think of:

1. With Streams you can transclude a node into another tiddler with Shift +
Drag&Drop.

2. There is a plugin called Edit-CompText
 that displays a list of
possible tiddlers as you type out a link. You can then select one of these
tiddlers and it will be automatically added as a link. It might be possible
to modify it so that you can search/display the text of tiddlers instead of
the titles, but still add the actual title on selection. That explanation
might not be very clear because its kind of difficult to describe, but if
you play about with the plugin you should see what I mean.

Note: I tried to do something like this but whenever I edited the config
file I got a javascript error message. Maybe someone else can step in and
help here?

3. If a node contains a useful idea that you might want to reference often,
I find that it is often useful to give it a name anyway. I think that this
can actually help in reusing the information as it gives you a kind of
'hook' that helps you to latch onto the idea. Andy Matuschak talks about
this here
.

2021-01-23 Thread Finn Lancaster
Whoops! Thanks for the quick bug catch! My raw tagged tiddler must have
been accidentally deleted when I was screwing with the Shadow Tiddlers. I
just fixed it now and tested, seems to be fine except for the usual edit,
save, refresh, then repeat to actually show up. Also, it's been throwing a
409 error when saved on chrome especially, but the changes still seem to
sync.

[tw5] Re: Recommended nesting order when html and widget?

2021-01-23 Thread Saq Imtiaz
The former will be marginally faster when the variable assigned by <$set>
changes, as the div wont need to be re-rendered.

Also consider using the <$vars> widget unless you specifically need
something the <$set> widget can do which <$vars> cannot.

[tw5] Recommended nesting order when html and widget?

2021-01-23 Thread Mat
For a non-looping widget, like $set, is there any significant difference
between the following, e.g in terms of logic or performance?

<$set>...

versus

<$set>...

Thanx

[tw5] Re: Made a standalone spaced repetition plugin (doesn't rely on Anki etc)

2021-01-23 Thread Tadeáš Paule
Hi Amy,

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely feel that room to grow for the plugin
is in making it easier to use in these edge cases, for example where
otherwise you have to go into the .json files and manually find and edit
values.

I don't know when I can get to this, but it's definitely on my radar.

I think your question about performance was addressed by Tones, although
this is a question for me as well :) I made it initially to suit my
particular need, and I will see how the situation evolves as I accumulate
more flashcards etc. I would also appreciate any heads up from anyone using
it if they run into performance issues. So far it's been fine at least for
me personally, but then again my SR collection atm is fairly small.

Kind regards,
Tadeas
