I set the system locale to Korean language, which worked okay. When I tried to set regional format (date, time, currency, number, metric, etc.), however, the options are only limited to 5 regions: US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. I do live in the US, but I want to set the regional format in Korean because that goes with the system language. I currently set the regional format to that of Canada because I am not familiar with US system of yards, feet and pounds. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the date format shown on the middle of the task bar is a mixture of English and Korean (Frankenstein-ish). As I browsed through the bug report launchpad site, I found this bug has a long history which dates back to Ubuntu version 9.04. I have installed Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS on my other computer and it does not have the same bug. I guess it has something to do with the newly introduced systemd? I would very much like to see this bug is fixed ASAP (at least before the release of 15.04 proper version). I love GNOME interface, but this bug annoys me. Regards. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1193686] Re: Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons
Latest information: 14.04 didn't fix the issue either, but I just upgraded to 15.04, and now it's back to the correct 12.04 behavior. Sadly I didn't check 12.10. Might regress yet again, but I'm happy for the moment being. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193686 Title: Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: To reproduce: 1. Open Universal Access and activate Sticky keys under the Typing tab. 2. Open a terminal. Press and release shift, then press A twice. Observe that the First A gets capitalized, and the second doesn't. In other words the shift stuck until the first A was pressed, then disabled. That's the expected behavior. 3. Press and release Alt. Observe that dragging inside the terminal moves the window as Alt+mouse drag moves windows. Release the mouse button and drag again... What does happen: It still moves the window. What should happen: It should drag out a selection in the terminal, just as is normal for dragging in a terminal without any modifiers. The first mouse button release should cancel the stickyness of the Alt key, just as a keyrelease would do. History: I've seen the this bug in previous Ubuntu releases, and I'm not the only one as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/415685 attests. I'm sure it started out working correctly when I started using stickykeys, then having the current faulty behavior, get fixed and then regress again now. I'm not sure about the exact releases, but I'm absolutely positive that it worked correctly in 12.04. I have 2 different laptops that had it working in 12.04 and both have the current bug in 13.04. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1466812] Re: aa-logprof crash
Maybe the code in the Ubuntu package needs another patch that is in upstream bzr, but not in the package. (Strictly speaking, that's not my problem - I only do the openSUSE packaging :-P) Can you please test with a bzr checkout of the latest upstream code from lp:apparmor (trunk) and/or lp:apparmor/2.9 (2.9 branch, closer to the Ubuntu package)? You'll still need to apply the patch from comment #8. Quick howto: bzr branch lp:apparmor/2.9 # or lp:apparmor for trunk cd $checkout_dir/utils # apply patch from comment #8 python aa-logprof BTW: Are you still testing with the same log, or with a fresh one? If it's a fresh log, please attach it so I can re-test with it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apparmor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1466812 Title: aa-logprof crash Status in AppArmor Linux application security framework: New Status in apparmor package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: aa-logprof crash after adding generic profile of apache2. This failure happens only on armhf and i386 architectures, which are the only ones where libgstandroidmedia is enabled. There are two related bugs here. First, the sys/androidmedia makefile is failing to reference the ubuntu-platform-api pkg-config, which is the expected way to find include paths etc for a library that's being referenced; instead includes of ubuntu/application/ui/[...] are hard-coded in sys/androidmedia/gstamc.h. (The pkg-config .pc file indicates includes of application/ui/[...] are expected.) Second, the ubuntu-platform-api .pc file lacks a Requires: declaration against mirclient, despite the fact that ubuntu-platform-api references headers from Mir. Both of these bugs should be fixed in order to properly fix the gst- plugins-bad1.0 build failure. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1455097] Re: pm-suspend.log and pm-powersave.log not updated since upgrade to vivid
Was caused by switch to systemd from upstart. Instead of pm-suspend, systemd uses systemd-sleep. Instead of running scripts in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ and /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/ it runs scripts in /lib/systemd/system-sleep/. However, no script is installed here to call pm-powersave, and systemd doesn't seem to have an alternative to it, so I added my own. For example, I converted the /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave as follows: ###UPSTART: #!/bin/sh . ${PM_FUNCTIONS} ARCH=`uname -m` command_exists pm-powersave || exit $NA case $1 in suspend|hibernate) [ $ARCH != ${ARCH#arm} ] || pm-powersave false ;; resume|thaw) pm-powersave ;; *) exit $NA ;; esac exit 0 ###SYSTEMD: #!/bin/sh case $1 in post) pm-powersave ;; *) [ $ARCH != ${ARCH#arm} ] || pm-powersave false ;; esac exit 0 It was necessary to remove the lines: . ${PM_FUNCTIONS} command_exists pm-powersave || exit $NA and note that parameters to script differ, see man systemd-sleep. ** Attachment added: pm-powersave hook for systemd, save as /lib/systemd/system-sleep/00powersave https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/1455097/+attachment/4422954/+files/00powersave -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455097 Title: pm-suspend.log and pm-powersave.log not updated since upgrade to vivid Status in pm-utils package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I added a new script in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ that worked fine before the upgrade to vivid. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1460149] Re: Visible corruption in SDL apps (Neverball, Neverputt) on Nexus 4 / Nexus 7.
Even simpler: I've attached a Mir branch that replicates the problem (-e5) using just Mir demos. Unfortunately that doesn't relieve SDL from owning the solution to this bug. Because even if Mir added support for 16 bpp formats, SDL would still need to be changed to use it. I suggest in the shorter term SDL can solve the problem by simply choosing a Mir-compatible EGL config in requesting a minimum of 8 bits per channel: EGL_RED_SIZE, 8, EGL_GREEN_SIZE, 8, EGL_BLUE_SIZE, 8, But feel free to shame Mir for failing to provide stronger API guarantees that the EGL config actually matches the pixel format in use. ** Changed in: mir Milestone: 0.15.0 = None ** Changed in: mir Status: In Progress = Invalid ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mir in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1460149 Title: Visible corruption in SDL apps (Neverball, Neverputt) on Nexus 4 / Nexus 7. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1470572] Re: native-origins.d information causes apport to strip origin information from Package
Right, I suppose my original thinking was only non-native packages should be marked that way, to stand out when a developer looks at it.
