I'd be interested in maintaining or co-maintaining this plugin. I have dreams
of in some fashion combining this plugin (or parts of this plugin) with my
TicketSubmitPolicyPlugin, though that's down the line. Also, it would be nice
to make this pluggable. But in the short term I'd be happy just to maintain
what is there. Anyone want to partner on maintainence of this guy?

Writing e-mail with mobile device is... Um... Well, figure that out.

No, it must be more like few selections and update button, nothing too
complex.

Let's put it this way:

You have 320x240 screen space, for entering text you have 9 to 11
buttons + for helpers you can have 2-4 additional buttons.

You can't do too complex operations and definitely you have to use
mobile devices own components since they are designed for it (WM6, UIQ,
S60 pick your fav.)

Main usage would be on the field ticket updating. Mainly to either
change status (closed, not fixed, not a problem) and adding photos or
videos taken with mobile device. Rarely, and very rarely there is need
to add text or do some other operations.

But if there is no ready made solution available I think I might try it,
at least S60 has wonderful pyS60 - python intepreter :)

[Trac] SVN Authentication in Images and Wiki

2008-08-29 Thread Juanjo

Hello everyone, this is my first message in this mailing list, I hope
somebody can help me.
I'm using Trac at my company, and I got an issue using the wiki and
trying to put some images on it. We've imported some images to our
subversion (screenshots from the application, they'll be used as a
user guide) and we want to use them in the wiki. But, when we're
adding the links ( [[Image(http://our.subversion.dir/branches/
screenshots/imageExample.png)]]) subversion ask us for authentication
in every linked image. I mean, if we add 5 images on the wiki page, it
appears 5 login request boxes, for each image. We got approximately
150 png to link, so it's quite impossible try to put our subversion's
login 150 times. I guess there is a way to avoid the login request
every time we load the page and the images, but I haven't found it
yet.
One solution may be add the files as attachments, but probably images
will change on future several times (it depends whether our clients
are satisfied or not with them) so we need to keep the links to our
repository to update the image whenever a change is made.
Is there a configuration parameter to disable this request ? For
example, when we browse the file's source code we don't need to re-
authenticate us. I haven't got admin privileges so I couldn't see
these options. Is the problem caused by lack of privileges?
Any help will be appreciate!

Thank u in advance.

[Trac] 'NoneType' object is not callable in bound method PooledConnection.__del__

2008-08-29 Thread stefano

Hi,

I wrote a script where I open a connection to the db, fetch some info
from there and then close the connection.

The script worked for almost 2 years without any prob but recently it
started producing this warning:

Exception exceptions.TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable in
bound method PooledConnection.__del__ of
trac.db.pool.PooledConnection object at 0x8f5334c ignored

It happens exactly when I do cursor.close().

I suspect a db corruption somehow but I have no idea how to find it /
fix it.

Any of you experienced this before?

and more important is this the right place to ask or should I go to
trac.dev?

[Trac] Login Problem

Hi!

I've just installed an Ubuntu server, set up svn, then trac.

Yes, I've checked the wiki/TracCgi#AddingAuthentication, and my apache

Location /trac
  SetHandler mod_python
  PythonInterpreter main_interpreter
  PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend
  PythonOption TracEnvParentDir /var/www/trac
  PythonOption TracUriRoot /trac
  PythonPath sys.path + ['/var/www/trac']

What should I do? I've tried this config without PythonPath also.

[Trac] mercurial plugin crashes apache

2008-08-29 Thread Jimmy Haden

I am having problems getting the mercurial plugin playing nicely with
apache. Everything works fine with tracd, and running svn under apache
also works. As soon as a mercurial repository is used in trac.ini
apache immediately crashes when the trac-site is accessed. I get no
logging information from trac or apache.

The system is Windows XP running Apache 2.2, Python 2.5.2, trac 0.11.1
and mercurial-plugin 0.11. Both mod_wsgi and mod_python gives the same
result. Mercurial 1.0.2 is built from source using MingW. I have no
clue where to start looking... any help would be appreciated.

Just for your edification, by default Wordpad saves everything as RTF,
so you definitely don't want to edit anything in it that isn't a text
document of some sort. I mean, it can also save as plain text, but it
doesn't by default, so that's where you ran into problems.

[Trac] Re: Mobile solution to access Trac

2008-08-29 Thread jevans

Maybe it depends on the device and/or browser?

My WM6 HTC Mogul tends to be the device I use most for browsing and
interacting with trac-hacks, t.e.o, and this google users list. I
switch between the built-in IE and Opera. The built-in IE doesn't
work for t.e.o because for some reason it only puts one word
(occasionally two) on each line - doesn't have that problem with any
other Trac site I've found. Opera works great with t.e.o but doesn't
handle the google groups as well - shows lots of fields and text that
clearly should be hidden.

Anyway, the Mogul has the 240x320 screen and a fairly decent size
slide out keyboard. I think that last bit might be the key to
usability when it comes to data entry. I used T9 for quite a while
with my old Nokia (which I loved) but it'd be hard to go back.

Once we get our Trac site published and I get a VPN client installed,
I plan to use it.

also be possible. It's ugly, but it seems like it wouldn't take many
changes. email2trac supports attachments and updating tickets.

[Trac] Re: Mobile solution to access Trac

2008-08-29 Thread Jani Tiainen

jevans kirjoitti:
Maybe it depends on the device and/or browser?

Yes, greatly. (See below)

Well this is the catch: there are some mobile devices with fullsized
keyboards. They can be very easily to be used to do complex text
entries. I've no experience with newer touchscreens how you could use
handwriting but I guess that would be pretty easy too.

But traditional 12 button keypads are pretty pain to use to type
arbitary texts and usually it's just faster to take a photo... :)

I haven't yet managed to make VPN connection to our old Cisco VPN so I
can't be sure could I use browser(s) to handle Trac.

[Trac] Re: Mobile solution to access Trac

2008-08-29 Thread Chris Mulligan

For what it's worth I use our internal tracs pretty frequently on my
iPhone, and it works quite well. A mobile template might make it a bit
easier, but I really don't have many complaints about it.

[Trac] E-mail verification

2008-08-29 Thread Chris Nelson

I set my e-mail address in a trac preferences on a server that doesn't know how
to send e-mail now when I log in I see:

Warning: Your permissions have been limited until you verify your email address

But I have no way to get the verify token. How to I undo that?

[Trac] mod_python configuration and trac 11 upgrade

2008-08-29 Thread James Gallagher

Hi,

We're upgrading to Trac 11.1 on a CentOS 5.2 host (from trac 10.4).
We have got Python 2.5 installed in /usr/local/bin (the old python
2.4 is on /usr/bin). How do we get mod_python to use the python 2.5
interpreter instead of the 2.4 one? Is there a way to configure that
or do we need to build mod_python from source?

Thanks,
James

You need a mod_python built against 2.5, either build it yourself or find
RPMs that have it.
