[Bug 59403] Re: g-a-i postinst fails if X is not running
Please don't be pathetic, Lee. With the provided patch the postinst script doesn't fail anymore. So we are talking about some warnings, that appear if the caching app cannot connect to the given x display. These are not nice, but I am not sure if this a bug of high priority. No, caching on the first run is a bad idea. The first impression counts. There is nearly no howto that describes installing an app using gnome- app-install. The long loading time is perhaps a reason for this. -- g-a-i postinst fails if X is not running https://launchpad.net/bugs/59403 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had this same problem, too. After uninstall failed i wanted to know which files could not be deleted: $ dpkg -L firestarter /etc/firestarter /etc/firestarter/non-routables /etc/init.d/firestarter Could it be that this problem is related to the fact that firestarter puts new files (configuration for the firewall) into /etc/firestarter. Public bug reported: xarchiver has no icon in the top left corner of the window. The reason is that the code looks for /usr/share/pixmaps/xarchiver.png, but only /usr/share/pixmaps/xarchiver.xpm exists. 1. Change the code to point to the .xpm or 2. Convert the .xpm to .png (no .desktop changes needed) ** Affects: xarchiver (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Unconfirmed ** Changed in: xarchiver (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged => Low -- No icon in window https://launchpad.net/bugs/60748 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 41956] Re: system freezes, asks for authentication for local machine
As per another bug I've reported (sorry, don't have the number), I get a Nautilus window titled "Windows Network: 192.168.0.2 on 192.168.0.2" with no contents. There is no indication of what I have done wrong in the Connect dialog, and 192.168.0.2 is now listed as a mounted server even though it doesn't exist. Going to Places->Network and browsing to Windows Network then my powerbook (which is shown) also gets me an empty window. -- system freezes, asks for authentication for local machine https://launchpad.net/bugs/41956 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 58259] Re: zd1211 no longer working (missing firmware?)
It looks like a copying the file from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=129083&package_id=187875 into /lib/firmware/zd1211 fixes the problem. Those files seems to be identical to the files in /lib/firmware/2.6.17-7-generic/zd1211* (that are already installed), just different names. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed -- zd1211 no longer working (missing firmware?) https://launchpad.net/bugs/58259 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 60744] mono crash when using f-spot camera import
Public bug reported: I connected my Canon PowerShot SD500 to the computer through a USB connection. Then, a window opened up (I assume that is gthumb) asking if I wanted to import the pictures (it accurately read the camera as it showed the pictures that were on it). I chose no. Then I opened f-spot, went to import, and selected my camera from the list at the top. [Bug 50409] Re: Installer Crashed
With 6.06 I did some kind of workaround. I swapped my 40gig hdc for an old 20gig seagate and everything worked. I'll try 6.06.1 with the 40gig next week. Don't know why this worked.
