This bug occurred for me on 7.04. Yesterday I upgraded to 8.04 through 7.10, and the problem still exists. Haven't yet tried the workaround I mentioned, but I'm fairly sure it will work, since manual unmounting fixes/works around it. When you return back to the game and press F11 to undo the full screen mode, what has happened is that the title bar of the same-gnome window is hidden beneath your top panel. Make your panel autohide and try to drag and minimize the window works. This problem appears to be a kernel issue. When I select kernel 2.6.22-14-generic from the grub menu during boot up, the IDE addressing behaves normally, and I can access all my hard drives. When I select kernel 2.6.24-16-generic the IDE addressing is screwed, and I can only access some of my hard drives. Note also that at no time was there a sdc or sdd. When running the 2.6.24-16-generic kernel, there is at most just sda and sdb. Hi, the VF0330 camera works fine (I added the initial support for it). The initial patch I submitted to launchpad allows the camera to work with skype through a workaround. The workaround hasn't made it to the Ubuntu package though as it is, well, a hack (see previous posts to know more). So, to summarise, you can simply apply the patch I initially sent on top of the new ov51x-jpeg source until skype gets fixed. [Bug 222349] [NEW] display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade
Public bug reported: I just upgraded to 8.04. I am using a Dell Inspiron B130. Suspend has always worked, but turning the backlight back on after it has been turned off when the laptop lid closed has been buggy in other versions (Dapper, maybe?) When I close the laptop lid with the battery settings thingy set to suspend, it seems to suspend ok (light goes into blinky sleep mode), and opening it back up seems to wake it up from suspend ok (light goes back to solid mode, hard drive noises) but there is no display. In addition to what I wrote there, my initial experience is that I installed Hardy on hdc the master disk on my secondary controller. Hardy kind of interpreted it as sda. But I got 'File not found' message upon reboot after the install. So I swapped IDE cables, to put my install location on the master disk on my primary controller. This got me further. See the attached photo, a close-up of the bottom right corner of my monitor. There is a large black strip running vertically down the entire right side, which is about 3/4 of an inch wide. I also noticed that if you update Left or Right margins, for example by adding 5 cm, the value is sometimes recalculated to 18,50 cm (see attached picture, #3) It is however still not possible to save new values to the two fields. Public bug reported: I am sorry the description is not precise enough. I am still a complete beginner! I was using 7.10 and updated to 8.04 just now. The laptop model is HP Pavilion dv6000 (dv6326us) THe error started when I wanted to add a second screen (on 7.10). The display crashed and it remained scrambled. When I changed the display using fn +f4 the resolution was set to 1024x768 instead of the native 1280x800. The screen resolution panel does not show my screen resolution. I tried to find the right monitor in the screens and graphics tool but all tests failed. After installing 8.04 the problem remains. However when I boot from cd the native resolution is detected.
