[Bug 543943] Re: Boot failure
OP: Did you fix your problem? today we attempted an apt-get update / upgrade of our two ubuntu servers and one of is now dead with this sympton. This is really bad. I never had a problem with ubuntu-desktop! This is affecting our production environment and we may need to go away from ubuntu-server if we can't solve this soon. [Bug 608894] [NEW] dash does not handle ^C trap the same way that bash does
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dash The problems with making /bin/sh symlink to dash instead of bash are known (#141481), but I haven't seen this particular problem reported yet. dash and bash process the ^C (INT) signal differently. Try running the following script (then type ^C) with both bash and dash: tint() { echo int; } thup() { echo hup; } tchld() { echo chld; } tterm() { echo term; } texit() { echo exit; } # trap tint INT trap thup HUP trap tchld CHLD trap tterm TERM trap texit EXIT echo type ^C... sleep 100 bash triggers the EXIT. dash triggers no trap. If you uncomment the INT trap, bash triggers INT and EXIT, and dash triggers INT, CHLD, and EXIT. I don't know what POSIX dictates or which is correct, I am guessing that any exit should trigger EXIT (so dash is wrong). Either way, the shells behave differently, and the difference is causing problems in existing Ubuntu scripts. (I found it in /usr/bin/xeno- test.) [Bug 608898] [NEW] PiTiVi has problems to switch from one video track to another when they follow each other
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pitivi When I load multiple videos and static images into the project area, this is the behaviour I'm getting: When a video track reaches it's end or when the other one begins, the view gets stuck at this point, for a couple of seconds. The problem is present when more videos follow each other in one project, or when a video is followed by a static image. Switching from a static image to another static image goes fluently. Of course, this might be because of my weak hardware. On the other hand, I can even play a video during the rendering and neither the video, nor the rendering gets jerky, so probably my hardware is catching up, nonetheless. The problem will probably be in PiTiVi, which gets overloaded. Like Microsoft had done before with Internet Explorer, may be Canonical decided to force every Lucid user to have Evolution installed, even not used (and Gwibber too: look how many related bugs...). Hi, please provide your hardware specs (the CPU type/speed, the amount of RAM, and your GPU/video card,...) Then provide information on the video clips you are using (codec, resolution) and the project resolution settings. If it renders fine, then it's quite possibly your hardware being unable to keep up with live playback in pitivi. Know, however, that there are some known performance problems (see http://wiki.pitivi.org/wiki/Performance_problems_in_0.13.4 ). [Bug 592787] Re: Add some sort of hint that the Ubuntu circle is click-able
Just verified by reading the launcher ix spec again. In section 4.6.3 is the remark I recall. Indeed a list with parameter-values for color- values (e.g. like the blue-value in section 4.6.2), spacing, margins, radii etc is always a great help simplifying the implementation. Schematics with values to fill in, like I handed you (Otto) this afternoon, are the most efficient way of passing that info.
