[Bug 823878] Re: bind interfaces only requires a manual change to /etc/init/smbd.conf
A solution for the future can be the use of the network-services event. It is mentioned in the upstart cookbook (http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/#networkservices) and Bug #701576 also target the introduction of this event. In the cookbook it is announced for 11.10. I checked the existence of the network-services event with Ubuntu 12.10 by starting Ubuntu with the debug switch. But I can not find the network-services event in /var/log/dmesg where all triggered events are listed. So I guess the network-services event is still not implemented. In the case the network-services event gets added, smbd should use it to fix this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/823878 Title: bind interfaces only requires a manual change to /etc/init/smbd.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/823878/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 903422] Re: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones ( Unable to open raw device 0)
Dirk, As discussed above, mtpfs will never work with an Android 4.x device due to how it uses libmtp. No updates to libmtp will ever change that. As for your mtp-detect error, that's likely due to another application already talking MTP to the device (eg: if you'd attempted to mount with mtpfs, or if gvfs ptp was trying to communicate with it - which will happen automatically if you have a default Unity desktop, or if gvfs mtp is communicating with it, if you're using my version of gvfs). The MTP protocol only supports one application communicating with the device at a time, so if another one tries to do connection initialization, the device gets confused and can respond in fairly unpredictable ways. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903422 Title: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones ( Unable to open raw device 0) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/903422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 823878] Re: bind interfaces only requires a manual change to /etc/init/smbd.conf
A solution for the future can be the use of the network-services event. I checked the existence of the network-services event with Ubuntu 12.10 by starting Ubuntu with the debug switch. But I can not find the network-services event in /var/log/dmesg where all triggered events are listed. So I guess the network-services event is still not implemented. [Bug 1093643] [NEW] When printing PDF files, halfway trough printer restarts from first page with garbled text/collors
Public bug reported: When I print a PDF file, somewhere halfway in the printing process the printer restarts from page 1. On the pages already printed, colours don't look right. On the first page after it restarted printing, text is in the wrong font, on another place on the page then it should be, and colour isn't right either. Subsequent pages are OK. This happens each time I print a PDF file double sided. Might also occur when printing other files or single side, I have not tried that yet. 1)lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 2) apt-cache policy cups cups: Geïnstalleerd: 1.5.3-0ubuntu6 Kandidaat: 1.5.3-0ubuntu6 Versietabel: *** 1.5.3-0ubuntu6 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.5.3-0ubuntu5.1 0 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-security/main amd64 Packages 1.5.2-9ubuntu1 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages apt-cache policy evince evince: Geïnstalleerd: 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 Kandidaat: 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 Versietabel: *** 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.4.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 3) What I expected to happen: The document to get printed from first to last page with colours and font and layout similar to the document displayed on screen. [Bug 1093640] Re: package python 2.7.3-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: cannot access archive: No such file or directory
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: inaccessible-archive ** Changed in: python-defaults (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093640 Title: package python 2.7.3-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: cannot access archive: No such file or directory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-defaults/+bug/1093640/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1093644] [NEW] Blank screen on resume from suspend
Public bug reported: when resuming from suspend, the screen remains blank, while the system ist still operational (logging in using ssh works). * restarting X doesn't help (sudo restart lightdm through ssh) * disabling KMS (nomodeset) doesn't help, still blank screen after pm-suspend * updating to xorg-edgers kernel 3.7.0-7 doesn't help * mainline kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current/ (3.8.0.999) didn't work either * playing around with acpi_os_name had no effect I tried following the debugging instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend, but I have no /sys/power/pm_trace (even on mainline kernel) The system is a brand new Samsung 535U3C-A03 with an AMD A4-4355M (integrated Radeon HD 7400G).
