We still can reproduce this issue by following:

1. boot from dGPU (AMD)
2. DRI_PRIME=1 gxlgear

[Bug 1938364] [NEW] kernel oops

2021-07-28 Thread ph
Public bug reported:

I have been having repeated trouble on a Lenovo T440p, generally
happening when the screen locks after timeout and I am then unable to
get back into the machine with a frozen screen.

This time around, it appeared that chrome started going insane with a
load average of 25 on a 2 core machine. I tried to kill -9 the
processes with no success. Other programs would run but the load
averaged remained pinned at 25.

In the log there is a kernel oops as well as the kernel claiming it is
tainted without cause.

[Bug 1938354] Re: I cant change display options at all besides native panel

2021-07-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report. The first problem I can see is unsupported
graphics packages installed from 'LP-PPA-ernstp-mesarc' which may be
breaking things. Please remove that PPA from the system and reboot. If
the problem still occurs after that then run:

  dpkg -l > packages.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

[Bug 1923162] Re: riscv64 images fail to boot in qemu

2021-07-28 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package u-boot-menu - 4.0.2ubuntu5~20.04.1

  * SRU changes from hirsute to enable booting on the HiFive Unmatched
LP: #1925267 LP: #1923162

u-boot-menu (4.0.2ubuntu5) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Go back to generating fdtdir option in extlinux.conf, instead patch
u-boot qemu-riscv64_smode target to not process or load fdtdir
option. Currently the dtb for riscv64 unmatched board in kernel &
u-boot are _unmatched_ meaning u-boot must use its dtb, and kernel
must use its dtb. Hence fdtdir option in extlinux.conf is
required. LP: #1925267 LP: #1923162

u-boot-menu (4.0.2ubuntu4) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Revert "Add support for ubuntu kernels location of device trees." as
it breaks booting riscv64 images with qemu, as the qemu in-ram dtb
should be used not the one from disk. LP: #1923162

u-boot-menu (4.0.2ubuntu3) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Add support for ubuntu kernels location of device trees.

u-boot-menu (4.0.2ubuntu2) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Make default U_BOOT_PARAMETERS to be "ro earlycon". If one is using
embedded boards, most likely they want verbosity.

u-boot-menu (4.0.2ubuntu1) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * u-boot-update: use PRETTY_NAME from os-release as menu label.

u-boot-menu (4.0.2) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Vagrant Cascadian ]
  * install example script for syncing .dtb files
for systems with a split /boot partition
  * fix comment handling in in /etc/fstab

  [ Jonas Smedegaard ]
  * declare compliance with Debian Policy 4.5.0

otherwise u-boot's fdtfile from itb is not used (i.e. when
extlinux.conf does not specify fdtdir). LP: #1923162
  * Unapply unmatched patches, whilst building unleashed platform. Fixes
failure to boot from sd-card on Unleashed. LP: #1924761
  * sifive-unleashed-default-fdt-files.patch: split into unleashed &
unmatched separate patches, for ease of upstreaming to meta-sifive and
u-boot upstreams. Also this ensures that unleashed target is built
with fdtfile= set, as unleashed target unapplies lots of patches.

"soc"/"board" not set in the environment LP: #1923162

[Bug 1938144] Re: monitor_read: unpermitted request 48 on server while attempting GSSAPI key exchange

2021-07-28 Thread Athos Ribeiro
Hello Niklas,

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

While the symptoms experienced here seem similar to the ones reported in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1162620, the patch that
fixed the latter is present in the version of the package for which you
reported the issue.

Therefore, would you mind providing additional information, such as
configuration files? More importantly, we would be interested in a reproducer
for the issue.
Can you reproduce it without using ansible?

Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to
differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I
am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would:
provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you
believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your
system, and then change the bug status back to "New".

For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/communit

2021-07-28 Thread Athos Ribeiro
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

While the symptom is similar to the one observed in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1899248, I see
an additional error in your logs:

MySQLConf.etc.mysql.my.cnf: Error: [Errno 40] Demasiados niveles de
enlaces simblicos: '/etc/mysql/my.cnf'

It seems the service needs a restart, but it cannot perform one due to a
circular symlink for your configuration file at /etc/mysql/my.cnf.

Could you confirm that this configuration file is an actual circular
symbolic link?

Would you mind providing more information on your configuration setup?
Namely, it would be interesting to understand how that file turned out
to become a circular symlink.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1938013] Re: 4.15.0-151 is freezing various CPUs

2021-07-28 Thread Richard Gray
I want to add that I too began having problems on my Lenovo T480 after I
installed the 4.15.0-151 kernel. I have gone back to kernel 147 and
that solved all the problems. My problems were similar to those
reported above: the computer sometimes crashed on boot. When it did
manage to boot the mouse was often frozen and other things as well did
not function, such as volume control from the keyboard. Programs either
did not run or malfunctioned when run. When I tried to shutdown, it
would often just hang for an extended period of time and it was
necessary to use the power button.
