I live in a campus with an authenticated proxy and an internal ubuntu
repository mirror, basically I would like to use the internal ubuntu
repository, and use the proxy for any third party repository, because
the proxy forbids the access to the LAN servers through it.
using /etc/apt/apt.conf and adding something like this :

makes apt-get works perfectly, however I don't get the same result with
synaptic.
Also I think synaptic should lose its proxy setting panel (because it
makes it more complex to configure for beginners) since it picks up the
config from the env variable which is set by GNOME (and gksu)

That fixes the detection of my phone by the laptop, and I am able to send files from my laptop to the phone. Now the other way is still missing :/ my phone is unable to discover the laptop. Any suggestions. Seems to be working better now, I am able to see my laptop from my phone, but I still have to run gnome-obex-server by hand to be able to send files from my phone to the laptop. It also seems like the pairing is not working, I think gnome is supposed to show me a window requiring me to enter a PIN that I am going to enter in the phone also to activate paring. The gnome ask key thingie never shows up. I tried 1234 as a PIN but it fails.
