Re: [Bug 1902224] Re: custom-time-format set in dconf-editor ignored
Yes. Same problem with Ubuntu 21.04 and ayatana-indicator-datetime 0.8.1-2ubuntu1 I've tried a string equivalent to the ISO 8601 format, using: '%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M' dconf-editor shows this as the current value, but there is no resulting change in the display. [Bug 1913499] [NEW] Bluetooth input doesn't work w/ Bose QC35 ii
Public bug reported: When connecting the Bose QC35 ii, the bluetooth audio works just fine initially, but the microphone does not. When I go to the sound settings and change the mic input to use the QC35 ii bluetooth input, the audio changes from stereo to mono and sounds terrible and cannot understand anything. Also the mic picks up some input, but the result output sounds about the same, completely un-understandable, a stuttering digitized version of the input. > lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 20.10 Release:20.10 Linux dan-xps-9700 5.10.5-051005-generic #202101061537 SMP Wed Jan 6 15:43:53 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux 3. [Bug 1008022] Re: Gnome-panel disappears when switching desktop
Exactly as described, mouse input to workspace switcher on panel fails using gnome-classic and compiz but works using gnome-classic and metacity. As part of failure the panel disappears, but will return if the Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut is used to open a terminal. The returned panel fails the same way if any mouse input to the workspace switcher is attempted. Ctrl+Alt+arrow workspace switching works under all conditions, but windows don't show up correctly in the workspace switcher panel applet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1008022 Title: Gnome-panel disappears when switching desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1008022/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

No idea. Re: [Bug 538377] Re: HD3450 HDMI output intermittently turns off
No fglrx remnants showed up in the checks, but I followed the reinstallation instructions anyway. I've also removed the xorg.conf and rebooted, with a log as attached. The boot and xserver startup were normal, but the problem remains, with HDMI output turning off after some time. Using the stock lucid kernel, the current version linux-image-2.6.32-16-generic (2.6.32-16.25), the same HDMI problem occurs. With both kernels, remote login and using xrandr to change the mode restores the HDMI output. However, I'm more sure now that having mplayer running continuously but paused prevents the HDMI output turning off (at least, it has never happened so far). Maybe this is some power management issue, where having mplayer running prevents the HDMI output getting into some low power state from which it cannot return. On 19/03/10 20:28, Bryce Harrington wrote: Hi Daniel, okay I think we should forward this upstream to look at, however there's a couple things I'd just like to doublecheck first. I see you posted an xorg.conf. Pretty much it looks totally okay, but I think everything that is listed there are now defaults, and in fact should set up properly with no xorg.conf. Could you please try moving aside your xorg.conf and boot with no xorg.conf at all, and see if the issue reproduces? Second, you mentioned you'd had fglrx installed previously. Sometimes, depending on how it is uninstalled, it can leave some bits on the disk which then screw up the open source driver's 3D. I don't see any evidence this is happening here, but just in case please follow the directions at the following link to purge any remaining fglrx components: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver Finally, I notice you're running the 2.6.33 kernel. Things then function normally until the next random HDMI output failure. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- HD3450 HDMI output intermittently turns off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538377 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 538377] Re: HD3450 HDMI output intermittently turns off
This Xorg.0.log is from an apparently-normal boot, with the bug as described above occurring a couple of hours after the boot. The display was re-enabled using xrandr as described above, then ran normally until the bug occurred again about an hour later. Re-enabled again, and so far has run more than 12 hours without the bug re-occurring. Although in the original bug report I said it was independent of programs being run, it now seems to me that perhaps it occurs less often while mplayer is running, but paused. However, this could be coincidence. [Bug 420471] Re: HDMI output no longer visible in gnome-volume-control
No. The Output tab in gnome-volume-control now shows three devices: Internal Audio Analog Stereo RV620 Audio device [Radeon HD 34xx Series] Digital Stereo (HDMI) Simultaneous output to RV620 Audio device [Radeon HD 34xx Series] Digital Stereo (HDMI), Internal Audio Analog Stereo and any of them can be selected. There is a problem at present with the actual output through HDMI, but that (I think) is due to the current incompatibilities between the kernel, fglrx and xorg and is not related to this bug. [Bug 503372] Re: Evince doesn't retain settings in Lucid
Same problem here with lucid. On first opening any pdf, evince shows a side pane with thumbnails and occupies a very small area of the screen. If I close the side pane, then resize evince to something readable on my monitor, then close evince, subsequent opening of ***the same*** pdf does not open the side pane and retains the resized display. However, opening a new pdf reverts to the original behaviour. There should be an option to permanently disable the sidebar, and the size should be remembered for all openings of all files, since desired size is more likely dependent on the desktop real estate than on the document content. Also, it never makes sense to have side panes, thumbnails or indices for one-page documents. I use the HDMI as my normal audio output, through speakers installed in an ASUS MK241H monitor. Until an upgrade this week, this worked ok and the HDMI output appeared in the gnome-volume-control hardware dialog. Since the first upgrade this week, the HDMI output has vanished from the gnome-volume-control hardware dialog and sound is not produced by the attached speakers. [Bug 284994] [NEW] bluetooth-wizard unable to pair headset

Still happens here with network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu17 and a USB HSPDA modem (ppp0). However, apart from that problem there is also the fact that I run a web server on this machine, for access from this machine only. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: emacs-snapshot using GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (i486-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.10.3) of 2006-09-20 on rothera, modified by Debian as packaged in emacs-snapshot-gtk, Version: 1:20060915-1 Emacs starts normally, with or without splash screen and either from the command line or from the menu item. From the command line a file can be opened for editing, eg emacs caparea.m However, trying to load a file using either the File-Open File menu item, or the toolbar icon, or M-x load-file fails. For the menu or toolbar, failure crashes the entire emacs process, leaving a message Fatal error (6)Aborted. For the M-x load-file case, the process history looks like: (emacs caparea.m) Loading 00debian-vars...done Loading /etc/emacs-snapshot/site-start.d/50auctex.el (source)... [Bug 76109] Re: crashes on file load
ok, upgraded to Version: 1:20061106-1, using the debs from deb http://people.ubuntu-in.org/~ghoseb/apt-edgy/ edgy main Tried M-x find-file, load worked ok :) Tried loading file from menu and toolbar, emacs crashes, leaving message Fatal error (6)Aborted as before. upgraded again to Version: 1:20061210-1, using debs from deb http://debs.peadrop.com edgy backports Same results as above. In both these more recent snapshots a file can be loaded for editing from the command line, or using M-x find-file (***not load-file***) or C-x C-f, but not using the File-Open File menu or the toolbar. However, in the most recent version, if I start emacs with a file from the command line, then use C-x C-f to load another file, then try the menu to load a third file, very occasionally emacs doesn't crash immediately. Instead, the following errors appear at the command line: Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x1a7b)! (emacs:15162): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_geometry_hints: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (emacs:15162): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_move_resize: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (emacs:15162): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_geometry_hints: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (emacs:15162): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_resize: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed Fatal error (6)Aborted More suggestions? -- crashes on file load https://launchpad.net/bugs/76109 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 76109] Re: crashes on file load
The hardware is an Apple Macbook Pro 15in Core Duo, running the 2.6.19 SMP preemptible kernel, with graphics using the ATI fglrx driver version 8.29.6 on the local display. Output of xdpyinfo is attached. I'm using the Ubuntu edgy distribution of Gnome 2.16.1, build date 02/10/06, with GTK version 2.10.6-0ubuntu3 ** Attachment added: x display info http://librarian.launchpad.net/5430533/xdpyinfo.log -- crashes on file load https://launchpad.net/bugs/76109 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
