It is strange. My XDG_DATA_DIRS has the value: /usr/local/share/:/usr/share/:/var/lib/snapd/desktop , and I have never had issues with that. Only the part added to PATH has bothered me. The problem was not fixed with the above, as I discovered that of course it only fixes my terminal. Other applications (e.g. PyCharm) could not see the executables from snaps. I jumped the gun a bit. What I ment was to write that sourcing /etc/profile.d/apps-bin-path.sh fixes commands being available again. I just got the 4.15.0-45 kernel through normal updates. Am I the only one who sees it as problematic that when updating to 4.15.0-45, it marks both 4.15.0-43 and 4.15.0-44 for auto removal? Just retested a few times. EVERY time I turn of my monitor, the session dies. Therefore I think my issue might be related to that my monitor has an auto off function. Oh, I should mention that by "auto off function", I mean that it turns completely off so I need to push the power button again. Just experienced this after disabling the screen powerdown in power settings, and then I just turned of my screen. However it didn't seem like my session died before I turned the screen on again. I had the same issue in an Intel integrated graphics card (Core i3-2120T). My whole session would just die. My system is in Danish, so I am unsure if it is the power saving option mentioned by @emanuel-pirsch I have disabled, but I went to the power settings and disabled the second option that translated says something like "Dim monitor on inactivity". This makes no sense enabling on my computer since it is a desktop system with an external monitor. The result is that it seems to have helped. I just installed the .deb file from debian (https://packages.debian.org/jessie/all/ttf-mscorefonts- installer/download) and it worked without any issues. I used gdebi on the terminal, but I don't see why it shouldn't work with the software center installer. Also, every time I open the settings, all update intervals display as 0 until I edit them. I had this issue on Oneiric as well, but could live with it, as I could just go out of full screen, move the window, and go ful screen again to fix the problem. Howeever in Precise, there might be a related problem, in that when I go out of full screen now, and make it go into full screen again, it kinda goes into full screen, but in a window. In a way, it seems like it's trying to go into fullscreen accross both monitors, but fails, and is banished into a windows. Generally this happens if the connection is not initiated with full screen. Clicking the full screen button in the window produce this behaviour. So far the issue is resolved for me in Oneiric. I have nm-applet at 3 MiB now (which is amazing!), but then again I have an cable connection in my machine right now as well. I think I still have this issue. Has the fix hit the repos? I can't find that path mentioned in the description, but when I use Ctrl+Alt+S there's a frame left upon shading. It's related to the snippet plugin. If I disable that plugin, it doesn't crash anymore. This sounds a bit like a standard answer to me. What exactly is it that you want to reproduce? To clarify:This is a usability bug, about the look and feel of changing desktop in the default desktop of Natty. My point is that nothing but the elements that are actually changing when switching desktop, should be a part of the sliding animation that occurs when changing desktop. Well, I basically suggest that the default setting of Non Sliding Windows in the Desktop Wall plugin of Compiz is set to (type=Desktop | Notification | Tooltip ) | state=sticky. Try the setting out, and see for your self. Just open the CompizConfig Settings Manager, open the Desktop Wall plugin, go to the Viewport Switching tab, and set Non Sliding Windows to (type=Desktop | Notification | Tooltip ) | state=sticky.
