[Bug 1161746] Re: Autofocus to input text area in Integrated Messaging in gnome shell 3.8
This bug is partially fixed in Gnome shell 3.10. When some one messages me, a popup opens at bottom center of the screen. When I move the cursor to the popup, focus will be automatically shifted to text area and I can write text directly without any mouse clicks in text area. But the other part is not fixed. If I open the popup by clicking the icon at right bottom of the screen, popup opens but focus doesn't shift to text area. I have to place the cursor at text area and then write text. So additional clicks here. First I have to move to messaging area, then click on icon present in right bottom panel and then click on text area of popup to write text. Can you please auto focus in the text area the moment I click on icon present in right bottom panel so that I can enter text directly - saves click ( in text area) Thanks! ** Summary changed: - Autofocus to input text area in Integrated Messaging in gnome shell 3.8 + Autofocus to input text area in Integrated Messaging in gnome shell 3.8, 3.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1161746 Title: Autofocus to input text area in Integrated Messaging in gnome shell 3.8, 3.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1161746/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1161746] [NEW] Autofocus needed to input area in Integrated Messaging in gnome shell 3.8
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 13.04 beta Gnome shell 3.7.92 . I have a small issue with integrated messaging. When some one messages me, I get a notification popup but the input text area is disabled by default. I have to take mouse to the input text area , click in text area section and then enter the message. Its kind of counter productive. As in earlier versions (3.6, 3.4), as I just hover my mouse on notification, I should be able to enter the text in chat input area without actually taking the mouse to input text area and clicking. It saves me one mouse click. Please fix it. [Bug 1092809] [NEW] Messaging Tray crashes in Gnome shell
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 12.10 Gnome shell 3.6.2. One of the few things in gnome shell that keeps bothering me is the sudden crashing of messaging tray (bottom tray of gnome shell) . When it crashes, no notifications will appear. It neither displays a warning nor an erorr message indicating that it crashed. Only when I hover the mouse at the bottom of screen, I discover that messaging tray is not appearing since it crashed. And because of it, I lose many notifications (especially chat notifications). I remember this was happening since some time. The temporary way to fix this is restarting gnome shell. How to reproduce: I haven't found a specific pattern. It crashes all of a sudden. But it happens considerable times (approx 5 times a week). Please fix it. [Bug 1064303] [NEW] Gnome-shell notification from empathy doesnt show you the last message in default view
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 - Gnome shell 3.6 The problem occures with the combination of gnome-shell and empathy but I had to choose only one package... This may not happen everytime. When some one sends you a message in empathy, you will get a notification in which you can reply. But in the notification, it doesnt show you the last message (even if he sends only one line). It misses by few inches . You have to scroll down (by few inches) to get to see the last message. It becomes difficult to chat if you need to scroll down everytime you want to see the last message. How to reproduce: In emapthy chat window, Type something (Atleast 10 lines) so that in notification , you can see a scroll bar Now close the notification Next time, when the other person pings you, you get a notification but you wont be able to see his last message(even if he reply only one line) by default, you have to scroll down by few inches to see his last message.
