[Bug 1940458] Re: Audio Device not recognized. Problem with sound.

2021-08-18 Thread Víctor
After last Ubuntu Updates,I can watch now the HDMI/DisplayPort2, but
when you go to Ubuntu Settings in Sound options (watch the screenshot
attached in this comment), you can watch the HDMI/DisplayPort 2 and the
config Salida Digital Estereo (Stereo Digital Output).

If you change the config Stereo to HDMI 7.1 (I only have a stereo
Speakers not 7.1 speakers), the config setting disappear in the Ubuntu
Settings Menu and you can't select it again and you can't change it
(check the screenshot).

If you try to select HDMI/DisplayPort 2 it doesn't work because the 7.1
sound was selected and I have got a stereo speakers.

To fix it I have opened pulse audio (check the other Screenshot
attached) and in the top setting, GP102 HDMI Audio set the setting
"Stereo Digital Output (HDMI2)".

After that the sound was recovered.

I don't know if the correct detection of the sound cards when switching
on the PC was fixed or not. You will check if this part is fixed now
with the last Ubuntu Updates.

Thank you.

[Bug 1940458] [NEW] Audio Device not recognized. Problem with sound.

2021-08-18 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

Hi,

after the last Ubuntu updates, I have lost the sound of my screen
speakers (yes the monitor has got integrated a speakers), this sound is
provided from the GPU via HDMI: [System Product Name, Nvidia GPU 82
HDMI/DP, Digital Out, HDMI]

Sometimes when I reboot the PC, it works and detect the Nvidia GPU 82
HDMI/DP and I can hear the sound of the screen speakers. But a lot of
times when I switch on the PC the selected sound card is Digital S/PDIF
Family 17h and I can't hear nothing when it happens.

If I try to change the sound card, I can't, it doesn't appear in the
sound settings options. If I use Pulse Audio, It doesn't appear in it
too.

Please, fix this bug, It is very annoying to turn on the PC and not hear
anything.

I only run the updates of Ubuntu. I have not installed the last kernel
by myself.

Maybe in the past I have changed something that generate that this
situation happen, but I don't remember something similar.

Are you sure that Ubuntu is not installing the 5.11 kernel by themself?

[Bug 1933361] Re: Audio Problem, soundcard not detected

2021-06-24 Thread Víctor
Why do I need to install nothing when an Ubuntu Update is installed?

It has no sense. The Ubuntu Update must have all the things that the
update need.

I have installed this:

sudo apt install linux-generic
and this:
sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-20.04

but it doesn't work.

[Bug 1910763] Re: Steam Proton fails with Kernel 5.8.0-36 Ubuntu 20.04.1

2021-01-11 Thread Víctor
I changed my motherboard and reinstalled Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS and it works
well with the new kernel 5.8.0-34.

Maybe the problem is the update patch when you have got the system
installed.

I remembered that I had got problems with the Nvidia 460 Driver, but It
was maybe caused due to I had got a socket of the motherboard broken and
it read bad my data generating a corrupted system.

But, I don't discard that the problem maybe still in the patch.

With fresh reinstall It works well, but it is not a good solution.

Maybe it depends on the Nvidia driver that you had before the install of
the patch, but it is a supposition, I don't know, sorry.

[Bug 1910766] [NEW] Problem restarting with new Kernel 5.8.0-36

2021-01-08 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

I have installed the last Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS update and It installed the
new kernel 5.8.0-36. I have got some problems with this kernel.

For example, when I reboot my PC, sometimes it doesn't start and stay in
the msdos window that you watch at the beginning when you switch on the
PC (It's the window that shows your motherboard, disk ready, etc).

Another problems is that when I use Mozilla Firefox 84.0.2 64 bits, I
have got some crashes randomly when I open a new tab (the crash is only
in the new tab, not in all Firefox program).

Please fix this kernel.

Thank you.

[Bug 1910763] [NEW] Steam Proton fails with Kernel 5.8.0-36 Ubuntu 20.04.1

2021-01-08 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

Yesterday, I updated my Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS and obtained the new official
kernel (with the update) 5.8.0-36.

With this kernel I have got a lot of problems with some games with Steam Proton.
For example, with the Kernel 5.4.0-59 all works well, I could play Cyberpunk
2077 and Far Cry 5 without problems.

Now, with the kernel 5.8.0-36 I can't play Cyberpunk 2077 and I have got
low fps in some areas with Far Cry 5, obtaining for example 7-8 fps in
the cinematic scene of faith.

Some games doesn't start with the new kernel.

Some people need this new kernel due to they have got new hardware
pieces which are supported with this new kernel.

Regards and thank you.

[Bug 1896257] Re: [nvidia] Screen freeze and wineserver crashed

2020-11-15 Thread Víctor
I think that the problem is that 32 bit architecture is not enabled by default
in Ubuntu 20.04.
Steam uses 32 bit libraries, for that, it crashes randomly.

After use this command and update Ubuntu with last updates, the system is more
solid and is not crashing all the time:
dpkg --add-architecture i386; apt update

This solved my problem.

2020-11-15 Thread Víctor
Same again, when I updated my Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS, sometimes when I switch
on my PC, I lose one of my outputs of audio. For example, I switch on
the PC and the HDMI DisplayPort2 GP102 Audio Contoller doesn't appear in
the settings > Sound.

I need to reboot the PC and sometings if you have good luck it appears
again, if not, you need to reboot again and again and again.

[Bug 1897307] [NEW] [X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI, Nvidia GPU 82 HDMI/DP, Digital Out, HDMI] Playback problem

2020-09-25 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

After last update, I have lost the sound of my Asus Monitor which has
got speakers.

It is a problem with ALSA Audio because, the last update installed some
patch of ALSA.

Now, when I use for example VLC and try to change to my HDMI Audio
Controller, it works well, but If I do the same thing with a videogame
of Steam, like DOTA 2, I can't obtain the sound of the game in my Asus
Monitor.

I installed Pulse Audio to select the sound card which I want to use,
and when I try to change the sound card of the application DOTA 2, it is
impossible, I can't. I change it in the menu, but the option comes back
to USB Speakers.

Please solve it, I have lost my speakers with this update.

[Bug 1896385] [NEW] Xorg freeze

2020-09-20 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

When I was playing Desperado III in Steam, the game closed and I went
back to desktop.

I typed this command to try to help you. I think that the problem is
Geoclue, that finish the process and next restart the process but I
don't know.

I haven't got any GPS localization system in my PC.

[Bug 1888425] Re: Ubuntu Freezy - Probably Gnome-Shell Bug

2020-08-09 Thread Víctor
And I have got this headphones connected: https://www.pccomponentes.com
/krom-kyus-auriculares-gaming

I have installed PulseAudio to change the sound card which is providing
me the sound. For example, if I am playing DOTA 2, sometimes, the
operating system detect may Family 17h... sound card and I don't get the
sound in my headphones, for that I need to change in PulseAudio to
change the sound to the soundcard used in headphones.

It seems and ALSA audio bug.

A few months ago, I had got a similar problem with my external
microphone, when I was playing CS:GO, the system freeze, but only happen
when I am using an external microphone.

[Bug 1890898] [NEW] No permission to access files on storage device

2020-08-08 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

When I pluged in an USB Sandisk Extreme 64 gb, I received an error.
After that I format the USB, and next try to save info on it. It works,
save the info. Next plugged out the USB and try to plug in again in
another USB port. Now I receive another error with USB, impossible to
acces or similar error.

If I try to press right mouse button when I am looking inside the USB
storage, and press create new document (my new document is a txt file in
black, saved in templates), when I did it, the system freeze.

:S

I think that plug and play is not working well. When I was burning a
disc and plugged in an USB, the burning failed.

[Bug 1890886] [NEW] Volume change are big when change volume

2020-08-08 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

The problem is the control volume. When I change the volume using a key
combination to up volume and down volume. If I up the volume when I have
got 0 level, the volume doesn't ear in the two first steps that I pulsed
UP volume. Other problem is, that if I press up volume it change a lot
with only one press of up volume. This generate the situation of volume
too low and when press up, the volume is too high.

Can I change the amount of volume that is added or subtracted when the
volume is raised or lowered?

I have got a Kyus Headphones, this model exactly:

[Bug 1888120] Re: Headphones detected like Speakers and Volume Problem

2020-08-08 Thread Víctor
In Windows and in some games, you have got the option to select the
sound output.

For example, you can select headphones (auriculares in spanish) and the
sound is lower to not damage your ears. The other option is to select
speakers (altavoces in spanish), and in that case the sound is higher.

I don't know if Ubuntu has got the same option in the kernel or if in
Linux, maybe in Linux speakers and headphones are the same, and the
output volume you obtain it's equal and indifferent.

If it is, you can close the bug.

Thank you.

[Bug 1888425] [NEW] Ubuntu Freezy - Probably Gnome-Shell Bug

2020-07-21 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

I have got a Ryzen 7 2700X, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti and 16 GB RAM.

Ubuntu sometimes freezes and I can't do nothing. I need to reboot the
system pressing reset button.

Usually Ubuntu (I think that Gnome-shell) freezes when I am selecting a game in
Steam.
When I select one game and change to another selecting the other, Ubuntu
freezes. But it doesn't happen always.

I read that could be a problem with Ryzen CPUs, but I don't know.

Sorry and thanks for your time.

[Bug 1888120] [NEW] Headphones detected like Speakers and Volume Problem

2020-07-19 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

I bought a Kyus Headphones, this model exactly:
https://www.pccomponentes.com/krom-kyus-auriculares-gaming

and when I go to Settings/Sound in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, I can watch
Speakers - USB Audio Device, not Headphones.

In Windows if the system detect the headphones like speakers, the sound
is louder and upset, I think that Ubuntu should have a similar problem.

Another problem is the control volume. When I change the volume using a
key combination to up volume and down volume. If I up the volume when I
have got 0 level, the volume doesn't ear in the two first steps that I
pulsed UP volume. Other problem is, that if I press up volume it change
a lot with only one press of up volume. This generate the situation of
volume too low and when press up, the volume is too high.

Thanks for your time.

[Bug 1888119] [NEW] Problem with USB Headset (Headphones + Micro)

2020-07-19 Thread Víctor
Public bug reported:

I bought a Kyus Headphones, this model exactly:
https://www.pccomponentes.com/krom-kyus-auriculares-gaming

and when I connect the USB Headphones to my computer, the sound of
Ubuntu 20.04 disappear.

The problem is that Ubuntu 20.04 is not detecting correctly the Sound
Card. I haven't got any option in Settings to change the Sound Card I am
using.

I needed to install the program PulseAudio to configure which sound card
I want to choose in each applications.

We want an option to watch an advanced settings menu to solve this
problems in Ubuntu.

Another option is that Ubuntu detects correctly the sound card in each
moment and if I connect my headphones, the sound card change to USB
Audio Controller. Currently when I connect my headphones, the sound card
selected is Family 17h Audio controller (I think that this is the Jack
Audio controller), and that is not the correct sound card because I am
not using Jack, I am using USB connection.

I have got another audio controller HDMI Audio Controller (GPU Audio
controller of Nvidia).

Thanks for your help.

2020-06-01 Thread Víctor Gonzalo
It looks like it doesn't happen with 5.7.0-050700rc7-generic. I cannot
be 100% sure as it happened randomly. I have got, however, something
suspiciously similar that has never happened before. It has happened
several times already, as randomly as when I got a kernel panic before.
Screen hangs for a while, but system stays alive. Logs show:

[Bug 1878484] Re: kernel panic on i915

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I'm using 20.04 fully up to date on an Asrock N3700.

I'm getting random crashes every now and then. Total crash, no ssh or
anything (later I found out it's a kernel panic). Not tied to any app,
but it happened more often during gaming. Logs didn't show anything,
they just stop. I set up netconsole, with debug and ignore_loglevel in
the command line and I got this:

[77196.866485] BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 00a72860

[Bug 1878484] [NEW] kernel panic on i915

2020-05-13 Thread Víctor Gonzalo
Public bug reported:

I'm using 20.04 fully up to date on an Asrock N3700.

I'm getting random crashes every now and then. Total crash, no ssh or
anything (later I found out it's a kernel panic). Not tied to any app,
but it happened more often during gaming. Logs didn't show anything,
they just stop. I set up netconsole, with debug and ignore_loglevel in
the command line and I got this:

[77196.866485] BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 00a72860

[Bug 1874318] Re: package grub-efi-amd64-signed 1.142+2.04-1ubuntu26 failed to install/upgrade: installed grub-efi-amd64-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2020-04-28 Thread Víctor Gonzalo
I've tracked the error down to:
/usr/lib/grub/grub-multi-install:243
  db_fget grub-efi/install_devices seen

Which "rets": "10 grub-efi/install_devices doesn'\''t exist"
So it returns 10 and the whole thing collapses from there.

[Bug 1271513]

2019-04-13 Thread Víctor
As noted in the Release Notes of Firefox 52.0 [1], released March 7,
'Display (but allow users to override) an “Untrusted Connection” error when
encountering SHA-1 certificates that chain up to a root certificate included in
Mozilla’s CA Certificate Program.'

So, it applies to all certs that have "AC Componentes Informáticos" in
the cert chain.

Untrusted Connection error with code:
"SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED" is expected on all
websites that have certs like https://www.edu.xunta.es/webmail/
(referenced before). Users may feel they have the same error like before
Firefox 51.0.

The only and unique version of Firefox where certs like this one works,
is 51.0, released January 24, which was updated to NSS 3.28.1.

[1] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/52.0/releasenotes/

(Websites that have certs with "AC Administración Pública" in the cert
chain ARE NOT impacted, as "AC Administración Pública" is signed with
SHA-256. Example: https://sede.educacion.gob.es/ )
