[Bug 373779] [NEW] expand slide crashes openoffice presentation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org-base Using the expand slide macro in the Insert Menu causes a complete shutdown of OO.o. This is how it has happened in previous times when I used the feature (in other OS and with earlier versions of OO.o. Re: [Bug 64253] Re: dpkg: error processing python-gobject (--configure)
DPKG returns python-gnome2 So many things were going screwy in the GUI that I decided to roll back from the edgy install, reinstall dapper and get my production machine up, so I just fdisked the whole thing and started again. The bug is gone, but not exactly resolved. I am going to see if I can get the same bug on the testing machine (which never has any problems like this) and then I can be more useful. This happened after an online aptitude dist-upgrade on a machine that I had been using in productionfor over a year. My gut says it was all because of how much gets put on the machine. I write books on network security and my production machine was full of scripts for hacking linux. I had at least half of Fydor's top 100 hacking tools installed. [Bug 59924] XFce heap not purging
Public bug reported: If a user keeps their session running (and just locks the screensaver) over 3 or more days, the XFce desktop and XFce-ce4-menu take up all the available vram and most of the available ram. I have the XFce-menu on my taskbar. At the point where XFce-ce4-menu is holding almost all of my vram and 50% of my ram hostage. The memory map says that 794M of vram is in the heap. XFcedesktop has 391M of vram. I know the work-around is to end the session every day or more frequently, but I tend to work on multi-day projects such as text-books, and it takes too long to recreate all of my work and research every day. I refer back to the results of processes running in terminal windows, and surfing histories that follow a specific path. I guess I don't need to bore you with my logistics. This is not just a moaning session. When it gets like this I cannot open any applications and have to force the system down, or unplug it ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- XFce heap not purging https://launchpad.net/bugs/59924 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
