[Bug 1748895]
(In reply to Bernard Moreton from comment #15) > GEARY works simply because it is not named in program senddoc, which then > uses xdg-email as a default, to call the system email client, whatever it > is. But hey, as an entry in Tools/.../Internet, it works! > > So, possibly, would "/usr/bin/wxyz" ... :) Did not get you Bernard ! So there is a bug or not ??? Because since LO 6.0.7 Thunderbird was working for me with exactly same configuration. Now Geary is working but not the thunderbird. For whatever reason same configs are working for Geary and not for Thunderbird Or Kmail Or Claws Mail , isn't it a bit odd ? I am habituated to use Thunderbird, Geary even though works; I feel compromised while using it. Thus earlier this bug is resolved ... it will be better !! Meanwhile I have fallen back to LO 6.0.7 & enjoying using Thunderbird. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1748895 Title: LO unable to find a working email configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1748895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1748895]
Since upgraded to LO 6.1.0 onwards started facing the problem of documents send by email stopped working Also post here mentions about a macro which sends email with PDF attachment using a email client as THUNDERBIRD, the basic issue is setting [ Libreoffice --> TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> INTERNET --> E-MAIL --> EMAIL PROGRAM --> browse & set to --> /usr/bin/thunderbird ] is not firing up THUNDERBIRD BUT Geary works with same LO 6.1.2 [ Libreoffice --> TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> INTERNET --> E-MAIL --> EMAIL PROGRAM --> browse & set to --> /usr/bin/geary ] Using Linux Mint 19 --- Find my detailed posting about mentioned 'MACRO' at https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=89073&p=457389#p426971 >>> After upgrading to Linux Mint 19 + Thunderbird 60 + Libreoffice 6.1.2 ; Emailing through the macro suddenly started behaving strangely. The email body text generated through macro started appearing in Recipient email boxes in thunderbird and is not usable. Setting up Thunderbird as email client [ Libreoffice --> TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> INTERNET --> E-MAIL --> EMAIL PROGRAM --> browse & set to --> /usr/bin/thunderbird ] in libreoffice is also not working; as it is no more firing up thunderbird. I do not know what is going wrong , Also I dont know whether bug is in Libreoffice Or Thunderbird Or somewhere else. But here is the finely working workaround --- Solution is to use geary email client, Set GEARY as default email client in linux mint. Also set geary in libreoffice [ Libreoffice --> TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> INTERNET --> E-MAIL --> EMAIL PROGRAM --> browse & set to --> /usr/bin/geary ] . UPDATE ... Tested with Libreoffice 6.0.7.3 in Linux Mint 19 & with Thunderbird 60.2.1 (64-bit) --- And it worked charmingly as before !!! So definitely Libreoffice 6.1.2 has the bug, strangely specific to THUNDERBIRD only ... as GEARY works in both version of libreoffice. << -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1748895 Title: LO unable to find a working email configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1748895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1399214] Re: Broadcom BCM4311 / 4312 driver wifi issue
** Description changed: I have 2 Lenovo laptops. One has Broadcom BCM4311 & other has Broadcom BCM4312 wifi hardware. When I boot by Bootable UBUNTU usb, wifi from both laptops get detected & gets connected as well. But when I install same Ubuntu on Harddisk & boot from Harddisk, wifi & wifi drivers do not work. Also I have tried various PUPPY linux distro based on Ubuntu, Puppy Linux detects & uses same wifi hardware with exceptional ease. ONLY issue is with UBUNTU installed in hard disk ... it do not recognise wifi hardware. STA driver is also useless. + + I have same issue for ALL UBUNTU distro I have tried till date 11.04 / + 11.10/ 12.04 / 12.10 /13.04 / 13.10 / 14.04 / 14.10 + + Every time I Install Ubuntu with simple hope that at least in latest + distro the issue might have been solved. But I think Ubuntu Developers + are just interested in making cosmetic changes & do not want to rectify + basic functionality issues. + + I have search all internet and I saw thousands of Broadcom users have + SAME issue but there is nobody interested in fixing that small bug. Real + question is when Puppy linux / fedora etc. distros can recognise same + Broadcom Hardware, why cann't UBUNTU ? (That means right CODE is already + there we need to just apply that in UBUNTU ... simple ) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1399214 Title: Broadcom BCM4311 / 4312 driver wifi issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/1399214/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 922795] Re: landscape orientation not preserved in pdf file when viewed online
In my case it is opposite, If I have PDF documents in landscape orientation, in print preview of any pdf reader; it correctly shows as landscape but in actual printing , document is printed as portrait & edges of landscape document are cut off. whereas, with by libreoffice I can print correctly either as landscape or portrait ... no issues while printing directly from libreoffice. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922795 Title: landscape orientation not preserved in pdf file when viewed online To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-pdf/+bug/922795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 921410] [NEW] cannot customise / change path of "Local Directory"
Public bug reported: I am using thunderbird on dual boot i.e. windows XP & Ubuntu. As i am sharing same account data in both OS, I have made a separate folder for keeping my downloaded emails which i access through thunderbird installed on windows XP & Ubuntu. For that i need to modify defauld "Local Directory" {Edit --> Account Setting --> server settings --> Local Directory (browse)} I found that I can change the "local directory" from windows XP installed thunderbird but i CANNOT do it from ubuntu installed thunderbird. When i click on browse & go to my desired folder & select it, the selected folder do not appear in "Local Directory" window; instead it keep on showing default folder i.e. (/home/ankur/.thunderbird/orwq15s7.default/ImapMail/imap.googlemail.com) ... please note that till Thunderbird version 7 or older I did not have any issue like this. This problem i see from version 8 & also in version 9. Please fix it ASAP otherwise using thunderbird dose not have any sense as I need to download same account data separately for Windows XP & Ubuntu, which is ill-logical. [Bug 678175] Re: Nautilus copy dialog box remains open even after file transfer is finished
I don't know whether it's reproducible on some other system. Maybe someone else can check that? The copy dialog box is not shown for 'small' file transfers. I have no idea what criteria is used for decided this, but here are some ways I can always reproduce the bug on my system: - Cut/copy large files, say, anything above 500 MB either from one folder of my hard disk to another, or to/from external USB disks/drives. - Copy files from my phone over Bluetooth. This is an exception to the 'large file rule'. The copy dialog box is shown regardless of what the file size is when browsing and copying files over Bluetooth. Once the file transfer is completed, the copy dialog box should close. Instead, it stays on as a tiny window with no information and a close button. Clicking that close button just minimises the window, doesn't close it. This may or may not be relevant, but I'm using netbook edition 10.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/678175 Title: Nautilus copy dialog box remains open even after file transfer is finished -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But as i have upgraded the problems started appearing. my IE6 was refusing to get open. So I completely removed Playonlinux & wine package & reinstalled them afresh in ubuntu 10.10. playonlinux: Installed: 3.8.5 Candidate: 3.8.5 Version table: *** 3.8.5 0 But still problems persist, as i tried to installed IE6, its still not running well and gives me blank browser screen. So I am not able to open any any websites. This is what exactly happens ---> browser is able to detect the website, the title of the page changes accordingly with the website, but the page content never appears. Also when the mouse pointer is moved on the browser screen it constantly shows busy icon. If it is continued for longer, Ubuntu 10.10 hangs and need to manually switch off the machine. I think it might be a good idea if someone could take an initiative and post this issue on the Ayatana mailing list. We might get better answers/resolutions there. But, it's just sad that so many people have voiced their opinion about this bug and it has not even been considered as an option. -- notify-send ignores the expire timeout parameter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390508 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
