As you can notice, the file didn't get modified in any way. i guess your problem comes from the fact that there is 2 configurations in this file. it's obvious that the first configuration is the correct one. run this command: (alt+f2) ? gksu gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf delete the lines starting from line 83 Section device # and till line 106 EndSection this will delete the second configuration, which we don't need, since it contains 1 low resolution. [Bug 147957] Re: root won't mount by UUID, device doesn't exist
Alex, try the following command in a terminal and see if it helps sudo ln /dev/sda6 /dev/disk/by-uuid/$(sudo vol_id --uuid /dev/sda6) -s this will create a uuid entry for your /dev/sda6 which you say is your root partition -- root won't mount by UUID, device doesn't exist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147957 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 273719] [NEW] arrows are not mapped correctly in tty1~6
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config when i go to a tty, like pressing ctrl-shift-f1, and login, the arrow keys don't work as they're supposed to! the arrows in the numpad work just fine, but pressing down to see a command from history gives and Enter instead. asfor the other 3 keys, they do othing. pressing num lock will of course disable arrows in numpad and make them type numbers, but has no effect on the4 arrow keys. attached is the output of etxkbmap -print and xkbcomp :0 - using kubuntu intrepid alpha, with latest updates ** Affects: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- arrows are not mapped correctly in tty1~6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273719 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 271317] Re: jockey-kde crashed with ImportError in search()
after reading through https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jockey/+bug/271935 , i tried installing python-kde4-dev , and the doing a chmod +x to pykdeuic4 , jockey-kde is working again. so the problem in short is that python- kde4-dev needs to be fixed so it installs the file as executable, and jockey-kde dependencies changed to include this package? -- jockey-kde crashed with ImportError in search() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 238185] [NEW] amarok crashes on loading real audio files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok i have many files in the real audio format (.rm), i used to play these files fine in VLC. back then i was new to linux and didn't know much about plugins and codecs and such stuff to get amarok to play them. so now, i decided to give amarok a try. i added the medibuntu repos, and installed w32codecs, and the amarok found in that repo too. the problem happens when i load my m3u playist, amarok crashes and it automatically opens thunderbird to send a crash report. if i go to the open media button in amarok, and select the files i want, i get a multiple background-tasks running note in the bottom status bar, and it hangs there for ever, and these tasks are all populating playist (preparing). im using kubuntu hardy 32-bit Intel D102GGC2 mother board (ATI chipset) 1.5 Gb RAM 3.0 GHz CPU with HT nVidia GeForce 7300LE (256 Mb) built-in ATI HD audio controller ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- amarok crashes on loading real audio files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 238185] Re: amarok crashes on loading real audio files
sorry for posting so fast, i tried running amarokapp in konsole to see what messages it's giving, and this time i marked my music folder as part of the collection, and let amarok scan it, it added 32 files from the 43 files in it. and in konsole said amarok: ERROR: translation of Edit Track Information... doesn't contain 2 different plural forms as expected, and a lot of ERROR reading METADATA, so this can be a problem with the metadata of some files. but seriously, a corrupt metadata can crash the program? the file is playing fine in real player on windows and in VLC on linux! ** Attachment added: the crash report email amarok tries to send http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15112132/crash -- amarok crashes on loading real audio files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 164675] X doesnt start at startup
Public bug reported: I am currently running kubuntu gutsy, but this bug was also happening on feisty, i am using an intel 102GGC2 motherboard with a 3.0 Ghz CPU with HT, 1 Gb of RAM (667 MHz) i have a winfast px7300 LE video card. after a clean install of gutsy everything works fine till i install the nvidia drivers, the system will show usplash at startup and the progress bar would reach the end, and instead of seeing the graphical boot screen i see a console one. i log in, but any attempt to startx would end up with a series of errors all circling around that there is no nvidia gpu found. at first i used to reinstall the driver and then do sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart, but then something amazed me, is that when i start the driver install, and i click accept for the license, it would tell me there is a driver and that it is going to be overwritten, if i say no, the installer exits and restarting kdm works fine. meaning that without any reinstallation happening kdm worked! im sorry for not any copy of the error messages. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- X doesnt start at startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164675 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
