[Bug 294932] Re: hardware testing checkboxes are poorly placed
Yes, this seems like a sensible change. We currently use the natural language words 'Yes' and 'No' as opposed to the result-centric 'Pass' and 'Fail', however we might wan to make it more transparent that as 'Yes' will result in a pass. Will this always be the case, or rather can we commit to insisting that questions should always be formulated in such a way that it will be the case? If so it might be enough to mention that in a note at the start of testing. [Bug 222324] Re: Support for panasonic hotkeys missing
Thanks for the efforts, Andy. A backport from Intrepid would be very nice, indeed. I tried the proposed kernel images on my Panasonic Y5. It seems to fail, X can't start. I didn't try the hotkeys from console mode. Previously, everything was working with gutsy kernel + pcc-acpi-0.9 + SUSE patches + make/install/modprobe. [Bug 271219] Re: Backport GnuPlot 4.2.3 to Hardy
I think debhelper 7 might be a false dependency. I replaced it by 6 and gnuplot 4.2.4 built fine. That is, I had to do another adjustment. The 3-year-old libedit in Hardy does not have the remove_history function. The use of remove_history was already ifdef'd so the code change is minimal, I refreshed the 03_use_libedit.diff so the debdiff is longer though. The only consequence of this change is that duplicate entries in the command history are not removed. Test builds are in my PPA. [Bug 231455] Re: [intrepid] Ubuntu 8.10 will not boot Live on IBM ThinkPad A21p - CPU 1 soft lockup
@CalcProgrammer: Using installed version 8.04.1, I managed to copy your xorg.conf file. I then shutdown the system and rebooted. Screen now working fine on 8.04.1 I am not sure about updating to 8.10 until I can figure out what is going on. Looking at the bottom of the laptop, there appears to be a lot of screws, and I am not too sure about taking the laptop apart. Next step is to figure out how to get the Netgear PC Card working (WG511 v2). I have the initial CD I got from netgear and can locate the WG511v2.INF file under the drivers/windowsxp directory on the cd. I found this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=76804 I also read the help info (for Using Windows Wireless Drivers) but could not find a package called ndisgtk under System - Administration - Synaptic Package manager. The good news is that, thanks to you guys for sharing your knowledge, we have something that works and can build on. -- [intrepid] Ubuntu 8.10 will not boot Live on IBM ThinkPad A21p - CPU 1 soft lockup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231455 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 120258] Re: Laptop Battery Time Remaining Outrageously Inaccurate
I think the problem is that gnome-power-manager takes the value from the battery. For example LiOn batteries tend to report lower times if they were stressed by higher energy consumption for a short time. I think we will get more accurate values if gnome-power-manager calculates the remaining time from the remaining energy and the current consumption (or weighted average of consumption values for 5, 10, 15 minutes while lastest value has the highest weight). -- Laptop Battery Time Remaining Outrageously Inaccurate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
