[Bug 517586] Re: myspell-ro should be removed from lucid
Jani, I subscribed you to this bug because you're the maintainer of myspell-ro. If you have time to let the necessary parties to remove this package, please do so. I'd do it right now but I don't know what's the proper protocol in this problem. -- myspell-ro should be removed from lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517586 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 517582] [NEW] hunspell-ro should conflict with myspell-ro
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hunspell-ro Recently openoffice got a Romanian dictionary/thesaurus/etc. As in other languages these dictionaries are used to create the hunspell-ro package which is set as a dependency for language-support- writing-ro Until this change language-support-writing-ro depended on myspell-ro (an older now outdated package that should not be installed in Lucid). At my last Lucid update I received a new language-support-writing-ro package depending on hunspell-ro. The updater could not install this because it wanted to create a file that had been previously created by myspell-ro: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/myspell/dicts/ro_RO.dic', which is also in package myspell-ro 0:20070502-0ubuntu1 myspell-ro was marked as no longer needed by apt, but I could not remove it until I fixed the broken install, and I could not fix the broken install until I got myspell-ro removed. I believe the solution is to add a Conflicts: myspell-ro line to the hunspell-ro package description. ** Affects: myspell-ro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: openoffice.org-dictionaries (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hunspell-ro should conflict with myspell-ro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 517582] Re: hunspell-ro should conflict with myspell-ro
A quick fix if you get stuck and cannot proceed with installing hunspell-ro because of the cyclic dependency gedit /var/lib/dpkg/status and in the list of dependencies for language-support-writing-ro remove the hunspell-ro entry. Run sudo apt-get -f install to make everything install without hunspell-ro Remove the old myspell-ro package, update the package list and dependency list and upgrade to have hunspell-ro automatically installed: sudo apt-get remove myspell-ro sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade ** Also affects: myspell-ro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hunspell-ro should conflict with myspell-ro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Temporary solution found (for me at least) - x/y axes were inverted and out of sync. Adding this line to 50-eGalax.fdi: merge key=input.x11_options.rotate type=stringcw/merge Then copying the min/max vallues out of /etc/evtouch/config and over- writing the ones in the 50-eGalax.fdi. [Bug 515724] Re: [Lucid] Upgrade of grub-pc: Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img won't fit in it.
If I don't misunderstand, then according to the installation instructions for dual-boot at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MactelSupportTeam/AppleIntelInstallation #Dual-Boot:%20Mac%20OSX%20and%20Ubuntu it would not be installed to the Ubuntu root partition (which would be /dev/sda4 in this case) but into the BIOS Boot Partition, /dev/sda3 (with the bios_grub flag). Like also described in Colin's link from above, http://grub.enbug.org/BIOS_Boot_Partition As to the size of sda1 (grub's BIOS Boot Partition), this was created with that size by ubiquity during installation. Before installation I removed all partitions and recreated the partition table with gparted (as in the single-boot install instructions linked above, which according to parted may have failed to actually convert the disk). If sda1 is now too small, this is the installer's doing. -- [Lucid] Upgrade of grub-pc: Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img won't fit in it. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515724 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4-terminal Problem: When typing and editing comands that are longer than one line and the path contains umlaute characters go missing (they are no onger displayed, but are still present when command is executed), characters appear in the wrong place, copying this command does not work etc. This makes it impossible to write the command you want to How to reprodude: 1.) Create an folder with special character in its name. For example testütestä 2.) Change into that folder 3.) Type a long command (long enough, that it doesn't fit into one line) or use the up-key to get one from your bash-history that is long enough 4.) Move cursor back to first line and try to edit the entered command somewhere in the middle 5.) Notice the strange behavior (characters apperear at the wrong place, pressing del deletes more than one character etc.) In this directory copying the entered command will not work correctly either. Instead of copying the complete command as one line as usual it is split in two diffrent lines resulting in the execution of the first half, when you paste it back again. LVDS output has the corruption. I am typing this with Firefox displaying on an adjacent screen using the VGA output and it looks normal! [Bug 517636] [NEW] Neverending discoverable state
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: blueman What happens: Every time I click on 'make discoverable' in order to connect my phone (old Nokia 5200), the countdown starts from 60s (as it should be) but once it reaches zero, instead of stopping it goes on: 60...3,2,1,0,-1,-2... The problem is present if there is no connection attempt. The pc is still discoverable during the negative countdown. What should happen: Countdown must stop and device stop being discoverable. [Bug 517170] Re: new upstream (0.6) available at Debian/Testing and PPA
It should be noted that 0.6.1 is *strictly* a bug fix release. It fixes important bugs which render 0.6.0 partially unusable in some use cases. It also *de*creases dependencies on LaTeX. [Bug 511524] Re: kmail send queued messages grayed out inappropriately
I kind of agree with PascalCavy's comment #3. You might be better off letting that Report a Bug... menu entry connect users straight to KDEbugs and bypassing Launchpad. In principle, I don't think it's unreasonable for Kubuntu to hijack the KDE bug report feature; but given that you've decided to do so, it would seem incumbent upon the project to then manage any bug reports, passing them upstream as needed. Otherwise, you may be doing more harm than good. There is no way a typical user can be expected to figure out whether it is a KDE bug or a Kubuntu bug. Given that KDE is the one maintaining the source tree, really it's better if _they_ get the bug reports and then can decide whether it's a Kubuntu-specific problem. I'd much rather see problems fixed in the source tree, once and for all, than just for one specific release of Kubuntu. -- kmail send queued messages grayed out inappropriately https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 517067] Re: Using virtio for block devices makes disks and partitions disappear in KVM/QEMU (using vmbuilder and libvirt)
On Fri, 5 Feb 2010, Andreas Ntaflos wrote: So I don't think that is the problem here, but I will try again. Thanks for the comment, again! I think if you look inside your guest image you will see 'sdaX' in /etc/fstab. Disks that are presented to the booted system as virtio will be named 'vdX'. The discs didn't disappear, they're named differently than your /etc/fstab, so they're (correctly) not mounted. mount the guest image loopback, change sd - vd and i think you'll boot happily. Alternatively, i think you can open up './VMBuilder/plugins/ubuntu/feisty.py' and hack in: - disk_prefix = 'sd' + disk_prefix = 'vd' The bug could be considered to be in 1 of 2 places: a.) vmbuilder: its 'install_fstab' routines only ever receive 'sd' for their self.disk_prefix' b.) linux/udev : you could suggest that the vdX devices should be symlinked or other to sdX so that your fstab finds the devices independent of how they're connected. -- Using virtio for block devices makes disks and partitions disappear in KVM/QEMU (using vmbuilder and libvirt) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517067 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 488413] Re: NoAccessToken: SD crashes when no access token found
** Description changed: For Karmic users this bug is currently in proposed Karmic updates, which you can install by following this FAQ: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/930 For Jaunty users, his bug is released (rev 288) in the Ubuntu One beta - PPA. For instructions on how to install the beta PPA on Karmic, please - see: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/836 + PPA. Sometimes the SD is started but the user hasn't the necessary auth information yet. Right now, it crashes: 2009-10-24 09:53:32,606 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.DBus - ERROR - Can't get the auth token Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/dbus_interface.py, line 1053, in connect access_token = self.main.get_access_token() File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/main.py, line 286, in get_access_token return self.oauth_client.get_access_token() File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/main.py, line 326, in get_access_token raise NoAccessToken(No access token found.) NoAccessToken: No access token found. What we should do is to alert the applet somehow that we've been started without the user having the proper auth info, and quit. To reproduce: delete the existing access token from the keyring with the client stopped, then start the client. It should go through the authorization process and not die. -- NoAccessToken: SD crashes when no access token found https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
