I don't use proprietary software on my system, so Nvidia driver shouldn't cause this lockup. Every software community must have early testers and if they report something it would be in the best interests of community to fix reported bug and if early testers are ignored, they will just stop testing which eventually will be very bad for Ubuntu. No progress is being made on this bug for quite some time and it is likely to remain so. If nobody knows which patch introduces this bug just apply all diffs between 2.6.28 and 2.6.29 in fs/[ext4,jbd2] to Jaunty kernel. I can also confirm that this bug is not reproducible on 2.6.28 and 2.6.29-rc1 vanilla kernels. Is is because we apply patches and distribute modified version of Firefox. Debian was the first, Ubuntu is the second. But now it is quite clear that all distributions will have to accept either using EULA or rebrand Firefox. After this update btrfsck does full disk scan on every boot which is not a good idea. Probably btrfsck does not yet mark filesystem as clean after checking it and btrfsck only checks filesystem, it cannot repair filesystem yet, so maybe it would be better to wait until C. I made some progress on this: I downloaded: http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa.git;a=blob_plain;f=hda-analyzer/run.py;hb=HEAD Then on page codec-0 there is GPIO section. I enabled checkbox enable[0] and sound started working. I have absolutely no idea why this worked but at least I have sound now. Can anyone reproduce the same behavior? Lithuanian translation now use: Plural-Forms: nplurals=4; plural=(n==1 ? 0 : n%10==1 n%100!=11 ? 1 : n% 10=2 (n%10010 || n%100=20) ? 2 : 3);\n instead of Plural-Forms: nplurals=3; plural=(n%10==1 n%100!=11 ? 0 : n%10=2 (n% 10010 || n%100=20) ? 1 : 2);\n GNOME, Debian, Mozilla, Translation project, etc are still using 3 plural forms and I haven't heard about any plans to change this. Since it's not possible to provide different variations for the same language in Launchpad, then perhaps one of these would be possible: a) strip the first form when importing Lithuanian KDE translation into launchpad (thus effectively degrading it to 3 plural forms)? Stripping the second form would be more logical, however third and fourth forms would have to be renumbered in this case, so it is probably not easily achieved. b) do not import Lithuanian KDE translations to Launchpad at all, and use upstream translations in Ubuntu instead? How come? The first form targets cases where n==1, meanwhile the second form targets n==21, n==31 etc., but still works fine with n==1. There are some strings where either of these choices would be bad. That's why I support option (b) if it is feasible. E.g. Delete this file. (Trinti šį failą) Delete the following files. (Trinti šiuos failus) Stripping the 1st form would make the case n==1 clumsy. Stripping the second case would make cases n==23, 31, etc clumsy. So stripping either of them is at the best choosing the lesser evil. Such strings were the main reason why KDE S.C. Lithuanian translators did such intrusive change.
