Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Squeezelite - a small headless squeezeplay emulator for linux (alsa only)

2013-05-23 Thread hagensieker

I have an issue where I seem to be stuck in 16 bit mode. I have a
HiFiMeDIY Sabre DAC which should play 24/96

root@squeezeplug:~# cat /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params
access: MMAP_INTERLEAVED
format: S16_LE
subformat: STD
channels: 2
rate: 48000 (48000/1)
period_size: 1024
buffer_size: 16384

Here is my asound.conf:

pcm.rate_convert {
type plug
slave {

pcm hw:CARD=DAC,DEV0
rate 96000
}
}

#pcm.!default {
#type plug
#slave.pcm hw:0,0
#rate 48000
#}

ctl.dmixer {
type hw
card 0
}

And finally my /etc/default/squeezelite:

SLOPTIONS=squeezelite -o hw:CARD=DAC,DEV0 -a 20:4:24:0
SBSHOST=10.0.2.23
SLMAC=b8:27:eb:3e:7f:bb

Playing with the -a options does nothing after restarting squeezelite or
rebooting. Adding -r 96000 does nothing

Looks like my DAC will do 96000

[SlimDevices: Unix] LMS 7.8 - loss of radio connections

May be a coincidence, but since installing the latest 7.8 git on Fedora,

This one would be mine to fix... what version of the plugin are you
running?

Would things work again if you restarted LMS? Is that computer able to

This sounds like DNS issues. This can happen if LMS was started before
networking was fully functional.

And this might just be a side effect. I'll investigate anyway.

Using version 1.1.0

I didn't restart LMS or the router - just waited a while then the
streams seemed to recover.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: JiveLite - cut down squeezebox control application

2013-05-23 Thread Chunkywizard

So I tried the Lilliput FA1013NP-Y/S, which is a native 1024x600 which
you can input upto 1920x1080. I found I got overscan on a lot of the
settings, especially 1920x1080. I ended up with 1280x1024 but then I
changed the aspect ratio of the display to 4:3 (under Micellaneous in
the menu). This had no overscan on and looks really nice. I didn't have
any issues on artwork resolution.

Thanks. But I suspect there's no connection between the two! I'll do
it in any case.

Hi adrinr

I've also added 'smsc95xx.turbo_mode=n' to cmdline.txt and I'm testing
right now. Lets hope that this solves all our problems. If so I suppose
Steen will release a new version of piCorePlayer.
Thanks adrianr, Steen and Slackhead. And of course Triode!

Hi Willem.

I hope that you will have success with the new settings.

Could you please at some time try your Musical Fidelity V-DAC II card
with the new settings in cmdline.txt as well.
It might help with this card also as it did for Adrian for his Musical
Fidelity v-link192 card.

Steen

2013-05-23 Thread tparvais

Hello

Thanks for the image and concept. good idea !

I tested the last 0.9. Wifi perfectly works.

Sound outputs via 3.5mm jack or HDMI work also

But impossible to have a sound without noise and distorsion via my USB
DAC (PCM2704 based). I tried -a 800:4, -o front:CARD=DAC,DEV=0 as
proposed by the setup tool, try to apply of course the change etc...

Is it also possible to configure the keyboard via the small setup tool ?
My keyboard is AZERTY and not QWERTY

Thank you

thomas

Glad it helped you out Willem.

The information on changine cmdline.txt came from this page here:
http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/raspberrypi

This has other useful info concerning the RPi and is well worth a read.

Cheers,

 This seems to be possible by adding another keyboard map via extension
 kmaps.tcz.

 sudo loadkmap  /usr/share/kmap/EXAMPLE_AZERTY.kmap

 To make this permanent, add the extension kmaps.tcz to your persistent
 tce directory, and then either use the bootcode
 kmap=EXAMPLE_AZERTY.kmap, or add the command to /opt/bootlocal.sh
 (missing the sudo, since bootlocal is executed as root):

 loadkmap  /usr/share/kmap/EXAMPLE_AZERTY.kmap

 Thank you

Tanks for trying piCorePlayer. I think that your USB is supported, it
seems similar to what others have reported to be working, as indicated
on the web page.

What is the output if you put in the USB card and then use option 3 in
the small menu program?

Finally, I succeed to login with Putty. and strange thing, it recognize
automatically my AZERTY keyboard and adapt accordingly :-) Strange

Hi,

Adding 'smsc95xx.turbo_mode=n' to cmdline.txt did not make any
difference. It did not solve my problems. I still get the static noise
after a few hours of playing. My MF V-DAC II still is not working
properly. It plays music but only with clicks/pops. Sorry I have no
better news.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Squeezelite - a small headless squeezeplay emulator for linux (alsa only)

2013-05-23 Thread hagensieker

One remaining issue.

I can't seem to get this playback with that command if the RPi is booted
and the command resides in /etc/default/squeezelite

So I added it to /etc/rc.local and rebooted. Still didn't get full
96000

If I comment out everything in /etc/default/squeezelite and only call
from /etc/rc.local then it works fine.

I guess I don't care how squeezelite starts but I am curious why it
doesn't call correctly from its default file. The -n name thing doesn't
work either. I have two systems. UpSqueeze and DownSqueeze. Upstairs
and Downstairs so I don't get confused at this point.

Anyway as above I'm playing 24 bit FLAC files in 96000 24 bit now. Very
cool. It's taken me some time to get this far however I feel the dust
shaking off my long unused Linux knowledge.

 Fron the Web-GUI Wireless Interface Configuration page, uncheck

That feature must be in a later release; I'm running R3

guide question: How do I update CSOS?
